Rebecca, your videography is definitely beautiful… Especially the way you start the video with the burning stove, Toby strolling, the chickens roaming, the little dog seemingly learning from the Shetland, the Shetland observing & doing what is instinctively in him, your son running about, enjoying the outdoor life, capturing Sam’s work and most of all, your choice of cool, smoothing music. Yes indeed, your vlog is absolutely FABULOUS… BRAVO 🎉
Wow! That was amazing. I am so impressed with all the hard work you are putting into this. Years from now you can tell your grandchildren about how you both built this place back up.
Confuscious say "Man who move forward with broom in use sweeps the path for the next days work But do the next days workers sweep the path for you" Every time you clean you move forward on the path. This might be like the yellow brick road and you sir are the wizard. Nice one sam crack on you have our respect
Sam and Rebecca you are great role models for your kids. They just pitch right in and work away. You all are dreamin the dream and especially Sam. I am in awe of you all. ❤❤❤❤
I found you a couple of months ago and binge watched till now. I am English, live in Turkey and between visiting England and my sister coming over to visit me, I have a big supply of Yorkshire tea !!! Whenever you mention tea, you make me get up and make myself one! I am so excited for your build, i love each stone you point. Toby made me cry. I'm so happy you found each other, he was waiting there for you all this while. Fate. I watch many homesteads but why do you make me feel more attached..... Have a great week
Sam, that's what the original builders would have done. Used whatever was to hand. There was no popping in to the nearest retailers, or waiting for the next delivery. I love what you have done so far. And I absolutely adore your dog.❤❤❤
I have used many tools in our home but never a chain saw inside the place. Now I want to try it too, but me wife might leave me thinking I had gone daft ?? Back to the karate kicks to take a few boards down when necessary. Keep up the brilliant work you all are doing, this is truly a family that knows what it means to be a family. Slainte
Sam you deserve only the best. You work like a slave. And it’s now starting to pay off. Remember to take time to just stand and look t your progress. You will be amazed how much you have done. And your boy too is awesome helping you clear some of the crap out of the house. I can see this adventure being the best thing for all the family. Sending best wishes and lots of support. Big hugs.
Как же мне легко дышится! Какая потрясающая работа! Обожаю, когда кто-то просто начинает и делает, когда многое кажется безнадежным, или слишком грязным! Удачи вам, ребятки!😊❤❤❤
Watching a family work together to make a new home is priceless and precious. This is the meaning of the family unit and why no one should ever try to break it apart. Great job and hard work !!
Bloody hell....what an epic week 👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾. Not surprised that you all sleep well. Take care & get some rest this weekend. Recharge those batteries which have worked overtime this week....loves to you all from France...❤❤❤
Barry's Master blend loose leaf tea from Cork is as good as it gets. Fire in some maple syrup and a pinch of ginger. Full cream unpasteurized milk is key, 👍💪🔨🇮🇪
I love the way Sam didn't even question Bec when she asked if he shouldn't be wearing a hard hat, he just immediately stopped and got a hard hat and put it on 😊
You've done some incredible work there , it's odd that they didn't remove the old thatch when they previously set the metal roof on . Thank goodness you're a joiner by trade coz you've got a heck of a lot of woodwork coming your way this year , and great job with the shuttering and cement work too . Great to see the whole family joining in , teamwork is dreamwork . Thanks for the entertainment
Well, nobody can call any of you lazy can they? You certainly are getting things done at a rate of knots. I hope you are enjoying your cuppas now that you have 'real' tea again. Thank you for taking the time to film, and explain things to us so that we get to enjoy your journey and feel a part of it all xxx
That was a dirty, thankless task. Well done Sam. Becca the editing was fantastic and so was the music. I always appreciate how courageous and hard working you two are, and so were the kids giving you a hand. You are always a pleasure to watch. Thank you for your posts.
A HUGE WELL DONE YOU HAVE WORKED SO HARD AND IT WAS LOVELY TO SEE YOU ALL YOUR FAMILY WORKING AS A TEAM TO GET THE JOB DONE WELL DONE ALL, ITS BLOOMING HARD WORK BUT WILL BE OH SO WORTH IT WHEN ITS COMPLETED. Enjoy the journey and the family memories will be there forever. Love to you all.
Your chickens look so brave under the constant watch of the collie - the cat could use less watching! I'm amazed at how much structure you can bring down, but is that because you plan to remove the roof as well? Real impressed with salvaging the beams for later use. Love your show. More power.
Jasper was smacking Nell from under the bars a few mins earlier. They have her under control as do the hens. Poor Nell gets attacked & chased away a lot by the cockerel. They all have their pecking order. 😉
Jasper was smacking Nell from under the bars a few mins earlier. They have her under control as do the hens. Poor Nell gets attacked & chased away a lot by the cockerel. They all have their pecking order. 😉 Yes we will be putting on a new roof. 👍
Demolition and hauling is so revelatory. It's always nice to see the "blank slate" emerge. Your space is wonderful and plenty of room for your family. Toby seems to be recovering nicely and all your homestead creatures are adorable. Thanks for sharing your progress.
We are grateful sometimes seeing other renovations that we have a bare bones house. Much easier as we are almost starting from scratch rather than undoing someone else's poor constructions/renovations. 👍
Total, absolute respect! No words to express my admiration and wonder at the hard, hard work and great attitude. God bless you and your lovely family as you pursue your dream.
Wow! Wow, Wow! It is amazing how much work you do and how hard and gross it is! If you had to hire it out it would cost a fortune. It sure shows how much you care for your family and future house. Both you and Rebecca work so hard! The music added to the epic- ness of the demo! Love and admiration from the heart land of the US to you.
Ain’t no one ever going to convince me Yorkshire or anything tea beats Barry’s tea. I’ve had Yorkshire tea and many other uk tea’s like pg etc.. non hold a candle to barrys tea sorry. Great work though and you love what you know so I’m glad you got some tea from home because you cannot fathom the impact of a good brew. Bravi guys great progress.
Absolutely amazing work ❤ honestly will be worth it when you have a beautiful farmhouse home. Enjoy your Yorkshire pot of tea . You all have well deserved it. Lovely seeing Toby bless him he seems a lot better now. Great viewing can’t wait for the next one. Take care all of you
Well thats 200 yrs.of thatch out of the way !! Thats a MAD dirty job !! The concrete work on the end of the walls looks good . I have done that sort of forming in my 45 yrs.of masonry and concrete experience now retired ! But vibrating the forms is a good idea !
Just a beautiful intro. Look at the wonderful home you’re creating. All those wonderful creatures have been blessed that you found them. 🥰👵🇨🇦 Ottawa fan👋
WOW! That was a lot of hard work and demolition this week. It is such a blessing that Sam just put his head down and gets it done. It was great to see the children helping out with the clean up. We see Euan helping quite often. Its good to see. I like the bit in the beginning when Bec show the yard, flowers and animals. It is nicely done with the music and all. Thank you so much for sharing this with us💟
Thought it was Aice Cooper for a minute 😂. You as a family team have done an amazing job bringing the thatch down and clearing up, good on you all. I would love to have seen the house way back when with the thatch in full glory, I can image the home owners then sitting outside in the sun smoking a clay pipe ❤🇬🇧
Ooh ma! I'm on the telly. Fame at last🙂. Thats a great job you all did with rot removal and cleaning the house out. That really was an epic fall towards the end . You could hear it in your voices it was a biggie. Have a great week .
It was a super part of the renovation to be done mate, thanks again for the Yorkshire tea, I kept looking at the thatch roof thinking OMG the day will come when I have to remove it, I'm so chuffed that day has come and passed...onto the next bit now
Hi, Such a lovely treat to have two videos this week! And perhaps another two next week! Well done on achieving so much. I think the new layout will work much better for you all as a family. I'd previously watched the video, with Sam talking about AA as well as last week's video. Well done, I am so impressed with his commitment & journey. Well done also on using PPE, as well as Becca reminding Sam about the wearing of a hard hat. Safety is the number one priority - I say that as a qualified & experienced HSQE professional! My heart was in my mouth, though as Sam put one foot on the dividing wall to cut down the original wooden supports. All the best to you four & your menagerie. Take care & please ensure you have sufficient mental & physical rest. x * I feel about Twinings tea, the way, you clearly feel about Yorkshire tea! Lol ** No need to respond to my comment.
I have been envious of the house renovations, but now I am even more envious because of the Yorkshire teabags! I have to pay a fortune for them here in Austria and have to plan ahead so that I don't run out as deliveries take a while!!
WOW what a fantastic video! Watching Sam take down the thatching with that music in the background was epic. Well done to you all, I don’t know how you find the energy day after day but the results are amazing. xxx
That has to be the grubbiest job you’ve done so far! Good for you, Sam, and love the way the others chip in. Bec, you’re an amazing helpmate for Sam. Love this channel.
Well done. That's hard, dirty work. Seeing your face took me back to about 1968 when mev, my dad, and Uncle Alf dropped a bedroom ceiling in Grandma Riley's house. I was 8 years old. We were naive and forgot about 150 years' worth of soot. A complete blackout! You survived that well. Onwards. Regards, Stephen.
Sam and Becca you amaze me with how hard you both work. I love watching your weekly updates I hope you remember to take time to enjoy the good weather while you have it ❤
Hello there ... late viewing of Saturday's épisode.... so thrilling, full of excellent work and détermination ... I'm so proud of you all ... hoping you had a slower family weekend break ... you are in my thoughts ...❤
Lovely video. So filled with magical moments. Energy to the heart for our blessings and gifts. Energy to continue with the work of a dream. I hope you can feel the amazing appreciation from these comments. Appreciation for all who have been put in a place of their life’s journey to wish. Dream. Capture fulfill. The appreciation of a chance to share such a season of your dreams. Thank you. We are smiling. Crying. Hugging high fiving. In every video. Well done with them. So enjoyable. Blessings to you all.
I am seriously impressed with the work you've done. Taking out those beams and all that thatch is a daunting task. Just watching you do it made me nervous. Keep going, I love it.
WHERE IS YOUR HARD HAT!!! Good to see you put it on but not for long. That was one heck of a job, please be careful!!! You both and son enjoy your tea, all earned it.
Brilliant teamwork guys even the kids helping with clearing out the debris. Lovely to see, they will remember this stuff for the rest of the lives. We'll done❤
Wow, that was a good team effort and a good bit of heavy graft behind you. Plenty of brew to keep you going for the next few rounds though hehe. :) Toby is looking a lot happier and relaxed, good to see. Thank you for sharing.
This is one of your best ones to date because it really illustrates that it's a whole family effort. Many of the vids are (necessarily) focused on Sam working like an absolute legend (which he is) so it's easy to forget that you are all working just as hard (kids and all). It's nice to see that on camera every once and a while. Also: Yorkshire tea is a poor imitation. :P Get your tastebuds used to Lyons (Irish) Tea... it's a way stronger blend than any of your softy english teas (Yorkshire included). :D
Yes it was a good one it us all working together. I'll enjoy looking back on that in the years to come. I like Lyons & Barry's but Sam is set on Yorkshire. 🤣
Omg you working so hard remember you are a man not a machine, all work and no play and all that just think of your safety you been lucky enough so far please be careful no I am not a h and s person broken arm or leg will put you back months, but great job take care ✌🏻
Been watching you for about 6 weeks now. It is getting interesting and I can see the results of your HARD work. You both have a lot of guts to do what you are doing. Keep going we are all behind you.
Two videos in a week? You're spoiling us! This is an amazing bit of work, great progress. Thanks for sharing and yes, the big collapse was very exciting.
@@theirishhomestead absolutely do not! You guys are working hard enough already, don't get TH-cam burnout on top. It was a fun treat getting a second video, but you've got to keep yourselves healthy.
Sam, you're the right man for the job! Especially with the dream team support crew behind you. Can you get a better mask & protect your lungs moving forward you will need it. One Yorkshire tea at a time.😊 I swear your kids have grown about a foot since I first started watching.
Wow that was some job. Brilliant achievement you must be so chuffed at what you have done. 👏👏have a good weekend. Its lovely that tobby likes his say in you videos😀
Rebecca, your videography is definitely beautiful…
Especially the way you start the video with the burning stove, Toby strolling, the chickens roaming, the little dog seemingly learning from the Shetland, the Shetland observing & doing what is instinctively in him, your son running about, enjoying the outdoor life, capturing Sam’s work and most of all, your choice of cool, smoothing music.
Yes indeed, your vlog is absolutely FABULOUS… BRAVO 🎉
Thank you so much! I try my best but still a lot to learn with editing. It makes me happy to hear I'm doing ok though so far. ♥️
@@theirishhomestead You certainly deserve the recognition…👏🏻👏🏽👏
The introduction music is very relaxing to listen to, 👍💪🔨🇮🇪
Those chickens could not have a better guardian than Nell. She is constantly watching out for them.
Wow! That was amazing. I am so impressed with all the hard work you are putting into this. Years from now you can tell your grandchildren about how you both built this place back up.
Its going to be awsome
Years from now your grandchildren can watch you building their house on you tube!
You got it all right there, the house the fields with wild flowers, the dog the chickens, the donkey.a piece of heaven.
Aww thanks. We feel very lucky.
It is lovely to see a family working so hard together for a common cause.
Thanks. Think we all want to be in a house this winter.
Sam, your roof demolition strategy was excellent.👌
You did an OUTSTANDING job of it… 👏🏽 BRAVO!
Thank you very much!
Confuscious say "Man who move forward with broom in use sweeps the path for the next days work But do the next days workers sweep the path for you" Every time you clean you move forward on the path. This might be like the yellow brick road and you sir are the wizard. Nice one sam crack on you have our respect
"Confuscious" is a little bit confused. His mom and dad called him Confucius.
Excellent philosophy 😊
Yep, clean site happy site
Sam and Rebecca you are great role models for your kids. They just pitch right in and work away. You all are dreamin the dream and especially Sam. I am in awe of you all. ❤❤❤❤

Love that you make a brew when we mention it! Yorkshire Tea is Sam's favourite. Nothing else will do.
Sam, that's what the original builders would have done. Used whatever was to hand. There was no popping in to the nearest retailers, or waiting for the next delivery. I love what you have done so far. And I absolutely adore your dog.❤❤❤
Yes they amaze us at how ingenious they were. Thanks for loving Nell. ♥️
Field engineering at it's finest, 👍💪🔨🇮🇪
Sam and Bec, you are amazing! I look forward to seeing your progress every week. You're going to have a specular home when you are done.
Thank you. Fingers crossed. ♥️
I hope so too!
I hope this work makes you feel so good. It’s gross, grubby but has a lot of punch for impact. Great work
It does! Thanks
Slainte
You should! A chainsaw in the house is very handy. Maybe a tad dangerous, noisy and dirty but who cares 🤣
Big hugs.

My eyes are still black
The pastoral animal scenes are pure Heaven. Thank you for that. whooooosh, what dusty work but what progress!!!
Glad you appreciate them. Thank you.
Bloody hell....what an epic week 👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾. Not surprised that you all sleep well. Take care & get some rest this weekend. Recharge those batteries which have worked overtime this week....loves to you all from France...❤❤❤
Thankyou, it was a big week and there only goner get bigger
I share your pain; I just moved to rural west of Ireland, and I'm gasping for a cup of Yorkshire tea!
Barry's Master blend loose leaf tea from Cork is as good as it gets. Fire in some maple syrup and a pinch of ginger. Full cream unpasteurized milk is key, 👍💪🔨🇮🇪
Enjoy your well deserved shower & rest tomorrow. Need a break now & again
Nice weekend off my digging arm need it
Great progress guys, what a horrible dirty job..but now out of the way..well done Sam👍
It was a good part to get over and done with
I love the way Sam didn't even question Bec when she asked if he shouldn't be wearing a hard hat, he just immediately stopped and got a hard hat and put it on 😊
Yes he knows when he's been told 🤣

All the roof timber is on route, looking forward to it
Perhaps the thatch was left for insulation.
Thanks so much. Sam has really enjoyed his cuppas again now. 🤣

Tony is loving it he keeps us all company
🕰️ When you find yourself waiting for the “mid week special” and it’s only Tuesday 😂😂
🤣 no pressure! I'm trying but not sure if we will make it. Maybe tomorrow evening 🤞
Your chickens look so brave under the constant watch of the collie - the cat could use less watching! I'm amazed at how much structure you can bring down, but is that because you plan to remove the roof as well? Real impressed with salvaging the beams for later use. Love your show. More power.

Plenty of fire wood

Thanks. I'm getting more excited about interior design now I can start to see the rooms evolve. 👍♥️
Powerful work. Happy no rodents popped out of the thatch! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Us too! We did find a mummified rat though **shudders**
Total, absolute respect! No words to express my admiration and wonder at the hard, hard work and great attitude. God bless you and your lovely family as you pursue your dream.
Its Satisfying work
Wow! Wow, Wow! It is amazing how much work you do and how hard and gross it is! If you had to hire it out it would cost a fortune. It sure shows how much you care for your family and future house. Both you and Rebecca work so hard! The music added to the epic- ness of the demo! Love and admiration from the heart land of the US to you.
Yes it was not a fun job and we had been dreading it but glad to say it's done thankfully. 💪
Excellent work and you sport the raccoon look well 😂😂😂
You're all doing an amazing job!
Glad you think so!
Just super choice of music for the last part of Sam demolishing the upper beams, very moving, wonderful climax for an epic build or destruction
Thank you. Very glad you appreciated the music choice. 👍
Love the ingenuity! It's gloriously functional. You are a powerhouse, Sam! Saving SO much money!!
Thanks so much!
More and more I’m enjoying your content. Both of you are not frightened of work. I wish you the best.
Thank you so much! 👍
Fair enough! 👍
Great to see Toby back up on his feet! Can’t wait to get some donkeys at my own place! Fab job on the house as well!
Its great to see him up n about
The music at the made the demolition seem epic. Brilliant.

Yep it will all get mulched into the garden

Big job done
Well thats 200 yrs.of thatch out of the way !! Thats a MAD dirty job !! The concrete work on the end of the walls looks good . I have done that sort of forming in my 45 yrs.of masonry and concrete experience now retired ! But vibrating the forms is a good idea !
Thankyou for your wisdom, I'm going to use a 20" disc cutter to get into the house, then point it all with portland
Hero's job! Spiders, cobwebs, mites, heaven only knows how much dirt, dust. You rock! 👍👍
Thanks 👍 Still recovering 🤣
That was awesome! So fun to watch!😅

Just a beautiful intro. Look at the wonderful home you’re creating. All those wonderful creatures have been blessed that you found them. 🥰👵🇨🇦 Ottawa fan👋
You are so kind. Thank you for watching & supporting us on this crazy renovation ♥️
Well done Sam and Rebecca. I love to watch this channel❤😊
Aww thank-you
WOW! That was a lot of hard work and demolition this week. It is such a blessing that Sam just put his head down and gets it done. It was great to see the children helping out with the clean up. Glad you appreciate the videos, especially my filming. 😉 Sam is definitely getting things dons. It feels like great progress is being made now.
Bless your heart! That was hard work! If those old beams could tell the story of the house it would be amazing!
Yes I bet there are some stories in those walls. 😁
Yes I think that's probably exactly what they did. I hope yo find a clay pipe one day.
Enjoyed seeing Toby, the chickens and the dogs in the beginning of this video.
Rebecca and Sam love seeing you all working as a team. Have been enjoying your adventure.
That's nice to hear. Thank you.
I have such a hard time comprehending the amount of thinking and physical labor that you are capable!🙃
Ooh ma! I'm on the telly. Fame at last🙂.
Thats a great job you all did with rot removal and cleaning the house out.
That really was an epic fall towards the end . You could hear it in your voices it was a biggie.
Have a great week .
It was a super part of the renovation to be done mate, thanks again for the Yorkshire tea, I kept looking at the thatch roof thinking OMG the day will come when I have to remove it, I'm so chuffed that day has come and passed...onto the next bit now
Lovely to see a family building a home together keep up the good work and stay safe 💚
Thank you! Will do! ♥️

I have been envious of the house renovations, but now I am even more envious because of the Yorkshire teabags! I have to pay a fortune for them here in Austria and have to plan ahead so that I don't run out as deliveries take a while!!
Oh no get stocked up
Cracking progress, one of the best refurb channels on YT with a lovely family, good luck to you all!
Much appreciated! Thanks. ♥️
WOW what a fantastic video! Watching Sam take down the thatching with that music in the background was epic. Well done to you all, I don’t know how you find the energy day after day but the results are amazing. xxx
We don't either 🤣 Thanks
Looks like you have a good supply of well seasoned fire wood from the thatch structure.
I'll make something out of it bud
That has to be the grubbiest job you’ve done so far! Good for you, Sam, and love the way the others chip in. Bec, you’re an amazing helpmate for Sam. Love this channel.
It was the job Sam was dreading but it went better than expected. But yes very grubby job. 🤣
Well done. That's hard, dirty work. Seeing your face took me back to about 1968 when mev, my dad, and Uncle Alf dropped a bedroom ceiling in Grandma Riley's house. I was 8 years old. Uurrghh yes it was a dirty dusty job and one I won't be wanting to repeat anytime soon. It was grim!
The house is saying "thank you", I can start to breath again..😀🙂😃🙃
Wow the sheer volume of material that came out was incredible- hard work! Great job on getting it done
It was an epic clearing up mission. Tidy site, tidy mind. 🤣
hi a great team effort ,i understand the work involved in ripping it down as im a joiner .your best vid yet in my opinion ,💪💪💪💪👊👊.
Thanks mate, going to maybe make some balustrade out of all the wood
Sam and Becca you amaze me with how hard you both work. I love watching your weekly updates I hope you remember to take time to enjoy the good weather while you have it ❤
The good weather is gone for a bit but enjoying the weekend off despite the rain showers. Thanks v

The appreciation of a chance to share such a season of your dreams. Thank you. We are smiling. Crying. Hugging high fiving. In every video. Well done with them. So enjoyable. Blessings to you all.
Aww thanks that's such a lovely message. ♥️
I am seriously impressed with the work you've done. Taking out those beams and all that thatch is a daunting task. Just watching you do it made me nervous. Keep going, I love it.
Thanks, will do! 👍
I am enjoying watching your ADVENTURE. Please stay safe because demo can be taxing. Looking forward to the next video.
Thank you! Will do! Glad you are enjoying the videos. ♥️
Your son is a good worker, a fine young man.
Seeing all that come down, especially that last bit was really satisfying! Thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it!
All those old beans and thatch should make for a nice evening 🔥 fire
We are composting the thatch and hopefully reusing the beams.👍
WHERE IS YOUR HARD HAT!!! Good to see you put it on but not for long. That was one heck of a job, please be careful!!! You both and son enjoy your tea, all earned it.
We are amazed at what you've all done! Wow!!!
Thanks so much.
Brilliant teamwork guys even the kids helping with clearing out the debris. Lovely to see, they will remember this stuff for the rest of the lives. We'll done❤
Hope so! If not they will have a video reminder which I'll be so grateful for in years to come.
You found a nice batch of cured hay in the loft for Toby...
Urgh I'd never do that to poor Toby. 🤣
Wow, that was a good team effort and a good bit of heavy graft behind you. Plenty of brew to keep you going for the next few rounds though hehe. :) Toby is looking a lot happier and relaxed, good to see. Thank you for sharing.
Yes, we certainly won't be running out of Yorkshire Tea anytime soon 🤣 Thanks
Yes thanks I do need to remember not to push too hard sometimes. It makes me forget my PPE a lot of the time.
Wow! If that didn’t discourage the swallows, nothing will! 👏😊
Sadly yes. I feel bad for them but they need to find a new nesting spot. Next year we will put boxes up.
What an amazing transformation!! The best I’ve ever seen and I watch a lot of this
Thank you. That's a great compliment.
Been watching you for about 6 weeks now. It is getting interesting and I can see the results of your HARD work. You both have a lot of guts to do what you are doing. Keep going we are all behind you.
Thank you so much! It really helps reading all the lovely supportive comments.
Two videos in a week? You're spoiling us! This is an amazing bit of work, great progress. Thanks for sharing and yes, the big collapse was very exciting.
Thanks. Not sure I can commit long-term to 2 per week, but I will try.
He went out on the Sunday and bought new masks. Those we had were rubbish. 👍
Well done, it was a big dirty job but you’ve done it 💪
Well chuffed
Magic another milestone thatch down 🎉
Another job ticked off the list 👏👏👏
Yep a big one
Wow that was some job. Brilliant achievement you must be so chuffed at what you have done. 👏👏have a good weekend. Its lovely that tobby likes his say in you videos😀
Yes we were so pleased with how much we got done especially as they were tasks we were dreading. Thanks.
Dirty work but a great job by all. 👏
