@@visordown I love cars but not as much as bikes of course and I find F1 or any other car race pretty boring (except of WRC) compared to bike racing. I also think that you have to be a lot more athletic to master/race a moto gp bike than any race car. I am not brave enough to find out for myself though, so my opinion is an example of bias conformation I'm afraid ;) nice bike, review and lucky you riding this machine. I own a Z900 myself.
@@philclarke7712 Here in Pennsylvania USA you really must have an enclosed 4 wheeled vehicle when the Winter gets here. For me it's....2 cars, 3 bikes, no kids,my wife and a few pets.
I haven't ridden a supercharged bike, but the torque characteristics you describe are a large part of what I like about big twins. As well as the narrow packaging and the "punchiness" of the power delivery. I'm also looking for more of a do everything bike as I've also been 2-wheels only for a few decades now (although I do have a car licence). So far the KTM Super Duke (either the R or GT model) has been at the top of my list, so I'd be interested in a comparison between that and the Z H2.
You dont often see these kinds of bikes in Sweden. I never seen a H2 SX on the road for example and it has been out for about 2 years. Im 34 years old and the full cover insurance was like 1800 euros a year. Below 170 HP is the sweet spot for a bike that you can own, atleast in sweden. I will keep my MT-10 until this changes.
I like the real world review aspect since this is where a lot of bikes spend their time. Looking forward to the next bit of content on this bike as well.
You've got this bike just before lock down, your rides were confined within city limits and you came up with an excellent review. Hats off to your professionalism and resourcefulness.
The hidden treasure in this bike is the way the engine easy can gain 30 hp more on a simple ecu tune and a slip on. A full system and filter 250-300hp. Then you will eat the Ducati streetfigther at breakfast untill the road begins to turn at least ; )
I fitted a Pipewerx GP can and it's now pulling stronger from lower revs. I wasn't expecting such a noticeable improvement from just an end can. It'll be mental with a remap.
Over 250 is a bit optimistic. As I understand it, this is, essentially, the same motor as the H2 SX. As a SX SE owner I've been watching peoples results with tuning on these. Even with a full system, filter, and tune, most are seeing 230hp at the wheel. Anything more and an intercooler, and/or E85 would be needed. Then you need to start worrying about cracking a piston as they are not the same spec as the full tilt H2. Your also going to have to put it on a diet. 239kg!?! That's 526lbs. Compared to 180kg, or about 400lbs, on the Duc.
@@stk0308 At 527 pounds wet, I'm surprised just how many are thinking "oh my god, how incredibly heavy!". First off, if you are used to a larger , heavier bike like I am (Ninja ZX-12R, ZX-14R, Suzuki 1250 BanditS) It's a full 33 pounds lighter than my Bandit. I had no issues with the Bandit's handling, so the much less weight ZH2 is a big step in the right direction. I am sure Kawasaki wasn't worried about making the ZH2 the lightest in it's class or how massively flickable it is in the twisties. It wasn't designed for that. It is an incredibly potent bike acceleration wise and does damn good in the twisties as well. I can't wait to take mine to the drag strip and real off some 9 second 1/4 mile times. I don't care at all how it does at anything more than 7/10ths in the twisty bits. It's super smooth, incredibly quick, quite versatile and very powerful. Plus that supercharger chirp! Way cool!
@@stk0308 I did read a thread about 3 or 4 SXSE owners cracking pistons after some serious power upgrades. I couldn't remember where I saw that info but it's that reality that has convinced me to have my ZH2 "limited" to a safe reliable 215 rwhp. That should still be incredibly quick and fast especially at my local drag strip. Wish Kaw would have used forged pistons in the "lesser" H2 models instead of cast pistons.
I heard in a video that you use your motorcycle as your main form of transportation. Could you do a video on how to keep your bike safe and clean during winter?
The sx models are actually very tamed. The engine performance between the z and sx are pretty similar in terms of gradual power delivery. Well... until sbout 6500 rpm then the super charger kicks in real good. I will say that if you reduce the impact of traction control then yeah you can pop a wheelie easily but controlling it with that weight is not easy. So not easy i wouldnt suggest it ever on a h2 series. Ever.
ZH2 is the pinnacle of motorcycles for me, literally a jack of all trades, yet it isn't "average" in any of the categories, but it's one of the top. Fast (obviously), yet comfortable. Good price on it, and it doesn't break down easy. Riding it, you'd be really hard fetch to find something bad to say about it, except for the obvious which it's category would have. That'd be things like it's "heavy", "heavy" when compared to a 300cc bike sure, but for a 1000cc bike? It's not. The only real thing that surprised me was the seat height (which I honestly didn't even look at). Going from a 600cc bike which I flat foot, this one I can just barely flat foot on... and I think that's it. Besides that ofc compared to a 600cc bike, it drinks more gas... but again, that's to be expected for a 1000cc bike. But as you can see, the complaints or things that I don't like, are things that you can say for any 1000cc bike... and it's the downsides that you have to face when you want to upgrade to a 1000cc. But still, I fucking love it. You can ride it daily, and find 0 issues with it. It's there when you don't want it to, when you want to enjoy the scenery (because it's that easy and comfortable to ride), and it's there when you want it to, when you want to gun it and fly to the moon.
The bike will easily do 200+ miles on a tank on the highway and at least 150-160 miles on B roads. I also have a tuned mt10 and this thing will eat it. Brock Davidson has dyno’d it - 184rwhp and 94ftlbs of torque. This bike isn’t designed for track days, however it will handle B roads just fine.

Brand spankin’ new last year at $8,700 USD, I could not be happier with my Z..... 🤔..... however, I may decide to ‘trade up’ to the H2R next year IF I get bored.... or get smoked by an Italian V4 👀..... 😁👍🏽
Mind Bending Performance in every category !!!! Riding for 45 years and i have never been more impressed with a motorcycle!!! PHENOMENAL!!!! Especially kitted out with the Akropavic Titanium Race Exhaust!! I had the 1290, 0 top end!! V-4 has power everywhere and to the stratosphere!!!!!
I wouldn't want to daily this as a commuter bike. I'm 5'9 and I can barely tip toe my S1000RR, coming from a RC390 the bimmer feels very heavy and hot as hell. This bike being 20 kg heavier at least, is something that I wouldn't like to move around on the street. Kudos to Toad being 5'7, maybe I am lacking skills more than height.
All my years of riding I always loved the Big Green K for the fact they always give us more bhp for our quid. Great review of the Z H2 commuter Toad :-)

Kawasaki Z hitch 2 al day and for the duc and all Western industries especially motorcycles are a natural place in maintenance garages with oil leak and pla pla pla etc so the final result = huge fight next to their shops Japanese bikes al day and forever... The problem with these supercharged bikes is that they add a ton of weight with minimal power gains. The H2R (non street legal) is the only exception with 300hp. The street legal H2, Z-H2 and sport tourer H2 are all heavily detuned which kinda kills the whole point.
I was tempted, but I ended up getting an H2, I just had to, you know how it is! Now I'm used to it I find the H2 fine round town etc, as long as you remember how sensitive the throttle is.
@@TIMHARTTTit's doing great, but impeller got chewed up somehow. Needed a new supercharger. Kawasaki paid half the cost and the dealer didn't charge me labour. Still gives me a hell of an adrenaline hit, every time I take it out.

Hi Tim, total cost was £3,200. I wasn't aware of any recall apart from the cam chain tensioner which they did whilst in for repairs. My H2 is a 2017 and the supercharger issue happened in 2022. As regards it being a daily ride, no problem, but fuel consumption is high! You may be better off with one of the more "sensible" versions, such as the SX or SX/SE, rather than a pure H2....... I do not like the look of the ZH2, but each to their own! Let me know how you get on.
I've been riding a CBR500R for the past 2 months since I got my A license (learned a lot, perfect beginner bike) and I think it's time for a supercharger! Haha, jk. A Ninja 650 or the 650 CBR I think will be the next bike. Great work with the videos in spite of the situation.
I went from a Ninja500r to an FZ1. It was quite the adjustment, but if you take your time and are careful with it, you won't regret making a bigger jump, IMHO. That said, only you know what is best for you, of course! Edit: I just noticed you've been riding for 2 months. In that case I DO agree that maybe you should wait :) I don't think you need to make the incremental step up though; just really get the hang of riding then make a bigger step. Just my two cents!

KTM is hideous looking and has an engine that sounds like an RC airplane. Plus, you better like the color orange. No thanks. Kaw is smoother, more reliable, much better dealership presence, and less money to purchase.

Beautiful....not really.....powerfull....yes, but is not everything on a bike.....amazing.....Maybe only the enjine sound, but overall is nothing new ,as kawa did this enjine in 80s..... Agree on the ktm......much better than this.....
I was in talks with a dealer about getting the ZH2 just before the lock down. I was toying with the KTM 1290 superduke or the ZH2. But I'm swaying more to the Z. Your on road footage in your video was filmed in my neck of the woods. Within minutes of my doorstep. :-)
he is not going to comment on it, he is damn salesman for bike shop! I rode the Z H2 SE yesterday and at low speed, no wind buffeting, at high speed it will wear you out from the buffeting...so it is an around the town fun, fun bike.
looks are subjective, im sure plenty will find its quite attractive. not my cup of tea though, but im very interested in the idea of a supercharged naked.
It's a big pussy cat to ride. I've covered 1500 miles on mine, picked it up mid Feb and love it. It's as happy on a jolly to the local shops as in is attempting to remove your arms from your sockets should you give it some beans. I binned the stock can and have fitted a Pipewerx Gp. It now sounds as good as it goes. Great impartial review as always. Thanks!
@Visordown Motorcycle Videos, I just put a deposit for this bike. It sounds like an incredible bike and definitely fun to ride. Do you know why Kawasaki hasn't put a steering damper in this bike? I wonder with that much power, a class leading bike should come with a steering damper from the factory. KTM Super Duke R, BMW S1000R, Ducati Street Fighter, ... etc. all come with a steering damper. Doesn't this bike need one in your opinion?
With curb weight of 240 kg that's more like touring bike without fairing than sporty supernaked. So if you want silky smooth power go with Tuono and if you want all the torque in the world 1290 has lot more usable torque than this and with 40 kilos less weight like all the other true supernakeds
@@InteractiveIdea Max torque is about the same but it's not available on low rpm like on the duke. With duke you can pop up a wheelie with 3rd gear from 4000 rpm easily, try that with kawasaki :D
@@Beyondthepress With the supercharger cutting in early on the ZH2 torque is phenomenol on this beast. You will have to wait for a back to back test to see which wins on roll on's etc. the ZH2 will have it on top end no problem.
ZH2 has "useable" torque everywhere! Less money needed to buy, more reliable,much better dealership network, more horsepower, more torque, smoother counter balanced engine, supercharger sound!
Thing is you can buy ktm tuono Tec at discounted prices now so don't look at rrp prices.. these can be got for 2k less than h2 and come with quality suspension not below avg.... it's basically a Z 1000 with a charger and paying 6k more for it
Dream bike right there, never been a fan of the normal H2 but I've been a huge fan of kawasaki's Z series bike and currently got a restricted Z800. If I ever get the chance I will be getting the ZH2
I never could understand the attraction for the hypernakeds. Can you imagine doing 170 MPH with no fairing? LOL! I realize that nobody is really going to do 170, but even at 110 the wind would be pretty punishing. The range issue is a bit of a put-off as well, though you bring good points about it being new. Let's see if it improves. I will be interested to see how the Supercharger holds up when subjected to real world operations as well. This bike seems to be a legit competitor in the class, though. I happen to be partial to the Tuono V4 1100 Factory. My God, what a machine that is. Anyway, thanks so much for the piece. Good luck with it, mate. We'll be watching for the next update.
Unfortunately with my skill level as a motorcycle rider right now I have a Hayabusa and all these new bikes kind of boring for me they're just too slow and easy to ride the only exciting bikes out there right now are the KTM 1290 Super Duke, and probably the Ducati V4 Street Fighter even this bike the ninjas boring it's because it's predictable the supercharger and it's too smooth I like excitement rough bikes at my skill level.

Doesn't turn?? Short wheelbase and stout trellis frame, plus Kawasaki's big revel of the Z H2 here in the states at Las Vegas International Raceway shows it turns just fine.
Top overview Toad, cheers. How easy was it to adjust the rear preload? I've been looking online at pics of the bike and can't even see the shock, must be buried!

Nice review. All I can say is try one if you can. The power delivery is so different from a normally aspirated motorcycle - not so much as a punch like a v twin, it’s more about power at any revs, in any gear. A bit like an electric train, honest! Btw - my friends H2 SX regularly gets better mpg than my z1000SX which sits at about 48mpg with mixed use.
@@visordown I test drove it today. Its a bit similar to my z1000, but smoother power delivery and definitely more power. It also felt more stable... like if I hit the gas hard in my z, it shakes a bit... but this very stable

Could you please share your view of this bike regarding the wind blast when speed is 140km/hr or up. I sometimes ride 1 - 2 hours non-stop at “relatively” high speed for occasional local travels which last 3-6 hours riding per trip. Most people will go for a sports tourer for long distance but I just can’t resist the temptation of your idea that this is one of the cheapest bike to get into the 200hp super fun category. Also lots of reviews saying the maneuver of this bike at low speed is surprisingly good but the only thing it worries me is the wind protection. Obviously it’s a naked without a big wind shield, but is it a “bearable” experience when on high speed? I am looking for my next bike over my current Kawi Ninja 400 with superb handling. I am trying to skip the idea of the Ninja 1000SX / H2 SX but sticking with the trustworthy Kawasaki and join the supercharged family. Can’t wait to see your next video on this bike! Sub and cheers!
I just yesterday added the Kawasaki accessory windshield to my Z H2 not a large screen, but should provide some relief especially in a slight tuck at higher speeds. There are already after market manufacturers coming out with a nice variety of small screens/windshields for this bike.
You'll get a lot more bang for your buck out of the other naturally aspirated bikes unless the little blower is a needed option your willing to pay premium $ for. Who really knows the long term high mileage reliability of these engines will be.
I got a question maybe you can answer. I'm window shopping for my first bike right now and I've come across the one you're reviewing here. Would it be stupid to buy one with so much power for a beginner? I feel like as long as I don't do anything stupid and start playing around with the throttle before I'm ready I should be good. But idk what do you think?
Cheers Haunted Oath...... I'm also a career motorcyclist and skilled survivor, (some may think 'old fart', but I'm a vastly better rider than I ever was when I bought my 1st bike 45 yrs ago). As nice and docile as the ZH2 is reported to be around town, I think you should do your time on a lighter weight bike, for your first ever motorcycle. 240kg is ok, but the mid caps are under 200kg and you can save a novice mistake on a lighter bike, whereas an expensive heavier bike can bite the bitumen before you know what you did wrong. I have seen many novice owners crash in the car park, let alone get into trouble out on the killing fields we call roads. There are many excellent mid-cap machines that you can use to develop the skills & head-space needed for the heavier, more powerful machines (think KTM 790, triumph 675 etc - all full sized chassis, but light weight with 100Hp). They are also much cheaper (and easier to re-sell), and, just in case you find you don't really need 180 rwhp to enjoy riding, they are every bit as capable as the high Hp extreme models. In my Country, learner riders/first year licence holders are limited by Hp/weight, so they can develop riding skills and live to ride all the nice high Hp bikes like I am now. I've owned 17 bikes, each one more powerful than the previous one, and now I have a 150rwhp KTM1290SDGT - honestly, it's more than anybody needs to have lots of fun in the sun! Maybe I'll try a 180rwHp ZH2 for my next bike! But I've got 750,000kms of riding experience to count on, so I know I can enjoy one without scratching it (or myself). Don't rush in...... start out in the mid cap, learn the skills you'll need to survive in the wild..... it worked for me and I'm still living the dream - as my hair tries to turn grey!
While I can appreciate the engineering behind making this bike smooth and civilized to ride, thats not what I look for in a hyper naked. I want something exciting at low speeds as well. Its the v-twin superduke for me. I'm looking at a couple as we speak : )

Roberto the KTM in comparison feels agricultural and cumbersome - the Kawasaki is silky smooth and just does what you want. Zero effort required.

Keep the revs below 5k and it feels like any other liter bike. 5-7k feels fast, 8k plus will rip your arms out of their sockets.

Here in the US (California at least) you cannot have a full M1 motorcycle endorsement without also having a class C car license as well.

The only real thing that surprised me was the seat height (which I honestly didn't even look at). Going from a 600cc bike which I flat foot, this one I can just barely flat foot on... and I think that's it. Besides that ofc compared to a 600cc bike, it drinks more gas... but again, that's to be expected for a 1000cc bike.
But as you can see, the complaints or things that I don't like, are things that you can say for any 1000cc bike... and it's the downsides that you have to face when you want to upgrade to a 1000cc. But still, I fucking love it. You can ride it daily, and find 0 issues with it. It's there when you don't want it to, when you want to enjoy the scenery (because it's that easy and comfortable to ride), and it's there when you want it to, when you want to gun it and fly to the moon.
Finally a good review of Z H2 !! 👍🏻 You Guys are really working out hard during this time. 👍🏻

The bike will easily do 200+ miles on a tank on the highway and at least 150-160 miles on B roads. I also have a tuned mt10 and this thing will eat it. Brock Davidson has dyno’d it - 184rwhp and 94ftlbs of torque. This bike isn’t designed for track days, however it will handle B roads just fine.
Can't wait to see what I can get mine to do at a drag strip (when ever they re-open of course :(

Mind Bending Performance in every category !!!! Riding for 45 years and i have never been more impressed with a motorcycle!!! PHENOMENAL!!!! Especially kitted out with the Akropavic Titanium Race Exhaust!! I had the 1290, 0 top end!! V-4 has power everywhere and to the stratosphere!!!!!
I wouldn't want to daily this as a commuter bike. I'm 5'9 and I can barely tip toe my S1000RR, coming from a RC390 the bimmer feels very heavy and hot as hell. This bike being 20 kg heavier at least, is something that I wouldn't like to move around on the street. Kudos to Toad being 5'7, maybe I am lacking skills more than height.

You wouldn't call the HULK handsome, but he sure is incredible, muscular and definitely gets noticed. Consider the ZH2 the HULK of naked bikes.

The problem with these supercharged bikes is that they add a ton of weight with minimal power gains. The H2R (non street legal) is the only exception with 300hp. The street legal H2, Z-H2 and sport tourer H2 are all heavily detuned which kinda kills the whole point.
A mere flash away from full power, while not 300hp, HP isn't the point, torque is the point.
I was tempted, but I ended up getting an H2, I just had to, you know how it is! Now I'm used to it I find the H2 fine round town etc, as long as you remember how sensitive the throttle is.

@@TIMHARTTTit's doing great, but impeller got chewed up somehow. Needed a new supercharger. Kawasaki paid half the cost and the dealer didn't charge me labour. Still gives me a hell of an adrenaline hit, every time I take it out.

Hi Tim, total cost was £3,200. I wasn't aware of any recall apart from the cam chain tensioner which they did whilst in for repairs. My H2 is a 2017 and the supercharger issue happened in 2022.
As regards it being a daily ride, no problem, but fuel consumption is high! You may be better off with one of the more "sensible" versions, such as the SX or SX/SE, rather than a pure H2....... I do not like the look of the ZH2, but each to their own! Let me know how you get on.

I've been riding a CBR500R for the past 2 months since I got my A license (learned a lot, perfect beginner bike) and I think it's time for a supercharger! Haha, jk. A Ninja 650 or the 650 CBR I think will be the next bike. Great work with the videos in spite of the situation.

I went from a Ninja500r to an FZ1. It was quite the adjustment, but if you take your time and are careful with it, you won't regret making a bigger jump, IMHO.
That said, only you know what is best for you, of course!
Edit: I just noticed you've been riding for 2 months. In that case I DO agree that maybe you should wait :) I don't think you need to make the incremental step up though; just really get the hang of riding then make a bigger step.

KTM is hideous looking and has an engine that sounds like an RC airplane. Plus, you better like the color orange. No thanks. Kaw is smoother, more reliable, much better dealership presence, and less money to purchase.

Beautiful....not really.....powerfull....yes, but is not everything on a bike.....amazing.....Maybe only the enjine sound, but overall is nothing new ,as kawa did this enjine in 80s.....

I was in talks with a dealer about getting the ZH2 just before the lock down. I was toying with the KTM 1290 superduke or the ZH2. But I'm swaying more to the Z. Your on road footage in your video was filmed in my neck of the woods. Within minutes of my doorstep. :-)

The MT10 and Tuono are no match for the Ducati and the Z-H2. They just are not gonna keep up.

I rode the Z H2 SE yesterday and at low speed, no wind buffeting, at high speed it will wear you out from the buffeting...so it is an around the town fun, fun bike.

It's a big pussy cat to ride. I've covered 1500 miles on mine, picked it up mid Feb and love it. It's as happy on a jolly to the local shops as in is attempting to remove your arms from your sockets should you give it some beans. I binned the stock can and have fitted a Pipewerx Gp. It now sounds as good as it goes. Great impartial review as always. Thanks!
@Visordown Motorcycle Videos, I just put a deposit for this bike. It sounds like an incredible bike and definitely fun to ride. Do you know why Kawasaki hasn't put a steering damper in this bike? I wonder with that much power, a class leading bike should come with a steering damper from the factory. KTM Super Duke R, BMW S1000R, Ducati Street Fighter, ... etc. all come with a steering damper. Doesn't this bike need one in your opinion?

With curb weight of 240 kg that's more like touring bike without fairing than sporty supernaked. So if you want silky smooth power go with Tuono and if you want all the torque in the world 1290 has lot more usable torque than this and with 40 kilos less weight like all the other true supernakeds
Zh2 torque is about the same as Superduke. Yes... its lighter, but about 25Hp less and 2k more expensive
@@InteractiveIdea Max torque is about the same but it's not available on low rpm like on the duke. With duke you can pop up a wheelie with 3rd gear from 4000 rpm easily, try that with kawasaki :D
@@Beyondthepress With the supercharger cutting in early on the ZH2 torque is phenomenol on this beast. You will have to wait for a back to back test to see which wins on roll on's etc. the ZH2 will have it on top end no problem.
ZH2 has "useable" torque everywhere! Less money needed to buy, more reliable,much better dealership network, more horsepower, more torque, smoother counter balanced engine, supercharger sound!
Thing is you can buy ktm tuono Tec at discounted prices now so don't look at rrp prices.. these can be got for 2k less than h2 and come with quality suspension not below avg.... it's basically a Z 1000 with a charger and paying 6k more for it
Dream bike right there, never been a fan of the normal H2 but I've been a huge fan of kawasaki's Z series bike and currently got a restricted Z800. If I ever get the chance I will be getting the ZH2

I never could understand the attraction for the hypernakeds. Can you imagine doing 170 MPH with no fairing? LOL! I realize that nobody is really going to do 170, but even at 110 the wind would be pretty punishing. The range issue is a bit of a put-off as well, though you bring good points about it being new. Let's see if it improves. I will be interested to see how the Supercharger holds up when subjected to real world operations as well. This bike seems to be a legit competitor in the class, though. I happen to be partial to the Tuono V4 1100 Factory. My God, what a machine that is.

Unfortunately with my skill level as a motorcycle rider right now I have a Hayabusa and all these new bikes kind of boring for me they're just too slow and easy to ride the only exciting bikes out there right now are the KTM 1290 Super Duke, and probably the Ducati V4 Street Fighter even this bike the ninjas boring it's because it's predictable the supercharger and it's too smooth I like excitement rough bikes at my skill level.
Did I miss something? Not a single word about the brakes? The quick shifter / down blipper? Clutch? Instrumentation? Cruise Control? Ad infinitum...

Nice review. All I can say is try one if you can. The power delivery is so different from a normally aspirated motorcycle - not so much as a punch like a v twin, it’s more about power at any revs, in any gear. A bit like an electric train, honest! Btw - my friends H2 SX regularly gets better mpg than my z1000SX which sits at about 48mpg with mixed use.

@@visordown I test drove it today. Its a bit similar to my z1000, but smoother power delivery and definitely more power. It also felt more stable... like if I hit the gas hard in my z, it shakes a bit... but this very stable

Could you please share your view of this bike regarding the wind blast when speed is 140km/hr or up. I sometimes ride 1 - 2 hours non-stop at “relatively” high speed for occasional local travels which last 3-6 hours riding per trip. Most people will go for a sports tourer for long distance but I just can’t resist the temptation of your idea that this is one of the cheapest bike to get into the 200hp super fun category. Also lots of reviews saying the maneuver of this bike at low speed is surprisingly good but the only thing it worries me is the wind protection. Obviously it’s a naked without a big wind shield, but is it a “bearable” experience when on high speed? I am looking for my next bike over my current Kawi Ninja 400 with superb handling. I am trying to skip the idea of the Ninja 1000SX / H2 SX but sticking with the trustworthy Kawasaki and join the supercharged family.

I just yesterday added the Kawasaki accessory windshield to my Z H2 not a large screen, but should provide some relief especially in a slight tuck at higher speeds. There are already after market manufacturers coming out with a nice variety of small screens/windshields for this bike.

You'll get a lot more bang for your buck out of the other naturally aspirated bikes unless the little blower is a needed option your willing to pay premium $ for. Who really knows the long term high mileage reliability of these engines will be.

Would it be stupid to buy one with so much power for a beginner? I feel like as long as I don't do anything stupid and start playing around with the throttle before I'm ready I should be good. Cheers Haunted Oath...... I'm also a career motorcyclist and skilled survivor, (some may think 'old fart', but I'm a vastly better rider than I ever was when I bought my 1st bike 45 yrs ago).
As nice and docile as the ZH2 is reported to be around town, I think you should do your time on a lighter weight bike, for your first ever motorcycle.
240kg is ok, but the mid caps are under 200kg and you can save a novice mistake on a lighter bike, whereas an expensive heavier bike can bite the bitumen before you know what you did wrong. I have seen many novice owners crash in the car park, let alone get into trouble out on the killing fields we call roads.
There are many excellent mid-cap machines that you can use to develop the skills & head-space needed for the heavier, more powerful machines (think KTM 790, triumph 675 etc - all full sized chassis, but light weight with 100Hp). They are also much cheaper (and easier to re-sell), and, just in case you find you don't really need 180 rwhp to enjoy riding, they are every bit as capable as the high Hp extreme models.
In my Country, learner riders/first year licence holders are limited by Hp/weight, so they can develop riding skills and live to ride all the nice high Hp bikes like I am now. I've owned 17 bikes, each one more powerful than the previous one, and now I have a 150rwhp KTM1290SDGT - honestly, it's more than anybody needs to have lots of fun in the sun!
Maybe I'll try a 180rwHp ZH2 for my next bike! But I've got 750,000kms of riding experience to count on, so I know I can enjoy one without scratching it (or myself).
Don't rush in...... start out in the mid cap, learn the skills you'll need to survive in the wild..... it worked for me and I'm still living the dream - as my hair tries to turn grey!

While I can appreciate the engineering behind making this bike smooth and civilized to ride, thats not what I look for in a hyper naked. I want something exciting at low speeds as well. Its the v-twin superduke for me. I'm looking at a couple as we speak : )
