Lee Anderson just said what most sane people are thinking. Perfectly acceptable & completely true.
Re. Lee Anderson's comments, Kate tries to link his popular views and style of statement to those of Trump. A commentator said of Trump "don't take him literally, take him seriously". How can you increase productivity when the working populace know they are second class, will never get a house, will never advance. Why would you be productive?
If people are not allowed to express their thoughts in their local vernacular, they are effectively de-voiced. Working people do not couch their opinions in the subtle self-deprecation that signals the ruling elite, they speak in blunt sentences from the heart. This trait has long excluded them from the seats of power, but such honesty is worth a ton of weasel words and carefully crafted code for doing the precise opposite.
What does it matter what majority Labour gets? The Tories have exactly the same policy preferences as them. The "vote Tory to keep Labour out argument is a joke"
And the Tory's saying a vote for Reform is a vote for Labour is just them trying to divert away from the fact that the Tory's are the reason Labour have a shot - not Reform.
Labour will be implementing the same plan as the Tory's. If either Labour or Tory's get in they will do the same thing couched with different language. The Establishment plan will continue as long as Labour or Tory's are in power. Thats why Reform are the way forward. Disappointing arrogance and overconfidence from 'Lightweight Kate'. Although at 14:55 she does appear to be listening to him. Journos and politicians should spend 1 day per week or maybe month, with the public on the street. If you sell toothpaste you have to go into shops and look at it on the shelves you know. If you're a journo or a politician you (i suspect) get away with sitting in your tower all day. Thoroughly well played Nigel. The skill and experience of a politician and a broadcaster blend very well.
As we’ve all heard Lee’s explanation, I didn’t understand Kate’s continued point on the wording and whether that wording should ever be “welcome” or would be allowed to be said in the Reform party. If any wording on any topic is wrong because it is untrue or unfounded that’s one thing but if it were ever to be true, it can’t be banned from being said. The plain truth must always be “welcome” in politics, however brutal it might be. Such a pointless, nitpicking debate, Nigel was right to push back to the sentiment.
Been waiting a long time for a Spectator interview by Kate with someone like Nigel. I look forward to the suggested next interview with Nigel on immigration an issue the Spectator has given the impression of being far to relaxed about for decades.
I had the Nigel Farage interview on in the background while doing other things. After several minutes I had to come back to the page to double check which channel I was listening to. From the comments of Ms Andrews I honestly was beginning to believe that it was the New Statesman. Mr Farage is one hundred percent correct that the London bubble have no idea how the rest of the country thinks and feels. I am terrified of a Labour government. The thought of Ashworth, Rayner, Lammy and Burgon getting anywhere near the levers of power chills the blood but the Tories do not deserve to win in their current form. Hopefully the Reform vote will cause them to see the error of their ways and they can become Conservative again. If by some miracle they do win, I fear it will be business as usual and we will be the losers.
Nigel is spot on. Those comments were perfectly acceptable by Lee as everybody knew what he meant and agreed with. The Country is lost and I can see both parties Labour and Conservatives gone within 10 years.
How has it been "impossible to cut taxes"? That's simply a lie the Tories tell to avoid responsibility for their policies. No, government policy is a CHOICE. The Tories CHOSE vast government spending and high taxes.
Because the ongoing scam is Labour raising taxes and spending; while Tories cut taxes, but maintain existing spending. There's lots of stuff that could be cut, but for politically motivated reasons they never do.
Always voted Conservative. Nigel Farage has the conviction, integrity and honesty to lead this great country of ours. Just joined the Reform Party and can't wait for the next election. How can you increase productivity when the working populace know they are second class, will never get a house, will never advance. Why would you be productive?
So that we can pay the pensions of Immigrants?
Duh.
@borderlands6606 Exactly! Direct and to the point and tell it as it is with no frills or sugar coating.
This woman hasn't got a clue which end is up. Hopelessly out of touch.
Nigel's suggestion of Kate getting out more is a good one for a journalist.
"american has strong views on british immigration" thanks for that
28:52 saying Lee Anderson isn’t a proper conservative is laughable. It’s the Conservative Party who are no longer proper conservatives.
I actually really like Kate. But I think this was her, “Hans, are we the baddies!?” Moment.
24:11 you can actually see her bristling when Farage says of Trump, “…he’s gonna win”
What's to like about her?
@@PointNemo9 she’s alright gets it economically and constantly pointed out lockdown nonsense.
@@LibertariunI think it was a silent stroke
Poor girl wouldn't have a clue what a housing estate is.
Whatever you think of the Tories, I am in no doubt that Labour will be worse. That is the only reason left that I can think of voting for them.
Labour will be implementing the same plan as the Tory's.
If either Labour or Tory's get in they will do the same thing couched with different language.
The Establishment plan will continue as long as Labour or Tory's are in power.
Thats why Reform are the way forward. It may take a little time, but they can in the long run beat both Labour and Tory's and Tice will not always be the leader.
I think as soon as Reform win an Election, Farage will be back in charge for the next one.@@danielearley5062
The other thing is that Labour will be so bad they will practically guarantee a Reform Government next Election.@@danielearley5062
@@danielearley5062Tories are there to prevent a right wing party rising, reform aren't the answer but as Nigel says, it's going to get worse before it gets better
I thought this is meant to be a conservative paper! Good grief
Farage is so right. He is a national hero. He should be King and PM for life.
as right as Brexshit
@@tonycollyweston6182 when are we getting brexit ?
@@moodobusinessYou`ve got it stop moaning, it`s not going to get better.
She just doesn’t get it, Kate, does she.
Charles Moore - as articulate and profoundly thoughtful as ever. We are lucky to have him.
No we are not. He tried to get his mate from Cambridge Owen Paterson off his suspension. Disgusting.
You can't barrage the Farage 🙂
Kate, with respect, like Nigel said, you need to get out more !!
two hugely entitled ladies who are completely out of touch with normal people of the streets of England - they have not a clue..
Farage right again. Does Kate vote Labour?
Kate has several Degrees.
Of Privilege ! ! !@@BonusHole
Nigel vs Kate Andrews is like watching a child pulling the wings off a fly
At this point, what is the difference between the Spectator and the BBC?
Muh diversity.
This Kate woman has made me reconsider resurrecting my Spectator subscription.😢
Thank you Nigel. Every word.
Three upticks for Nigel...and Kake (x) for an excellent interview.
How has it been "impossible to cut taxes"?
That's simply a lie the Tories tell to avoid responsibility for their policies. No, government policy is a CHOICE.
The Tories CHOSE vast government spending and high taxes.
Yes, those policies were choices the government made too. Not sure why it's hard for people to understand that.@@chrisj9700
Because the ongoing scam is Labour raising taxes and spending; while Tories cut taxes, but maintain existing spending. There's lots of stuff that could be cut, but for politically motivated reasons they never do.
How pernicious inflation becomes when the state becomes over 40% of your economy
The bigger estate, the more effect, impact inflation has !
In Nigel I trust.
Interviewer owned by Nigel with home truths and facts.
Nigel completely on point, the presenter feels completely wooden AF. Can the Spectator not do better?
In defence of Kate Andrews, she coaxed out of Nigel Farage the most candid interview I have ever seen him give. Well done Kate.
Always voted Conservative. Nigel Farage has the conviction, integrity and honesty to lead this great country of ours. Just joined the Reform Party and can't wait for the next election. I don't think Reform will win but Labour will be a disaster and when they fail I think Reform will have a majority in Parliament.ust joined the Reform Party and can't wait for the next election.
Kate Andrews looked like she had utter contempt for Farage. But he ran rings around her.
Sunak must go. They need to bring in an actual Conservate.
Wish Nigel could become PM
He sold out along time ago.
There’d soon be martial law.
Why has Isabel opted for an Anneliese Dodds makeover?
I can’t understand why so many women are obsessed with getting plumper lips. It’s such a horrible look.
David cameron isnt a proper tory
"...at the petrol station every day I stop to buy the newspapers people of all ages come up to me what the hell is happening to our country what the hell's going on what about us and when Lee said yesterday I want my country back yeah I get it I absolutely get it so the pr you're not talking about the same Commons that I am but I look no one cares about the words you care ordinary voters don't care and this is the disconnect" This 1000%
👍
Vote Reform!
Nigel understands working class people outside the London bubble.
Yes the views Nigel express are everywhere, here in the south coast the pressure on Communities of illegal immigration are really being felt. Spectator needs to visit places local to Bibby Stockholm. Gangs of young men hanging round the streets, local people know of incidents with young girls. Its happening.
Kate Andrews ...normally fairly good...this time very poor. Farage wiped the floor with her. Needs to get out of the metro bubble and go talk to the people on the ground who are thoroughly fed up.
