Really interesting episode. I wonder if Scrap Mechanic physics models elasticity for different materials. (And how it handles inter-object penetration. Does it rectify their positions and then apply force, or apply force based on the depth of penetration?)
This is called "collision resolution". Usually the approach is to first rectify the position (a difficult task in itself), then to apply the force based on how far it was clipped into the other object. (and measuring that is also difficult)
I think if you could hold the piston up higher and let the batters wind up then lower the piston so the ball would come down into contact they would go a lot farther
I think a horizontal platform would perform better. judging by the wobble scrap mechanic does not like rotation at an angle, I think horizontal rotation would work better
@kAN Gaming I think you should try a format where you do a 2 episode challenge. Like this one you make a baseball machine without being able to test it. Then next episode you can all try to improve or make a better one and see if you are able to ^^
