5:42 - 6:01 Wouldn't the single coil pickup make the guitar sound thin? I thought that was the whole point of a humbucker pickup, unless that pickup is a lot thicker?
It’s about cutting through the mix.. because they are a two piece and with the bassist setting the single coil provides more the top end high frequencies... ergo the single coil to cut the mix. The bass brings the heaviness
Most 5 string basses are the same scale as 4 string basses so all you need to do is put on a 5 string set and throw out the high G it takes a bit longer to set up but it's very similar in feel
Whoever you film, get them to play something while they are demoing their gear. Just talking about and looking at a bunch of guitars, pedals and amps is pretty boring, we want to hear what the base tone is like, and what the pedals/effects do to that tone.
I've noticed that the digitech pedal messes with the tone a little on the drop function. In the context of a loud band mix though, it doesn't really matter. Also, like he said, the audience probably won't care.

JG 93 it's a quarter pounder so look up audio samples, but it is a bit thicker that a standard tele.

If tfk were industrial nu metal that would be amazing
Not the heaviest strings I've seen on a 4 string if he used a 130 on the D I would say so
typical bass player has to think about his name as he says it or maybe he's just confused on how to pronounce his own name
That, I believe, was suppose to come off as a joke, haha.
