My mother passed away last week. She was born in Berlin in 1943 during the war. We played Stille Nacht at her service. She loved Christmas, and would sing this song to me as a child, so it has a lot of meaning, and will always bring tears to my eyes. Keep up the great work, Vanessa. Frohe Weihnachten!

I was in a large, crowded store last night, and amazingly everyone was cheerful and polite, very nice. Leaving gifts for the forest is a bit like a habit of the Native Americans, giving thanks to the wild creatures, and nature.

Your memorial tune for Leo was particularly touching to me today. While Christmas is a time of joy, the older you get it becomes increasingly a time to remember those with whom we can no longer share the holiday. I spent this afternoon putting a wreath on my parent's grave. I was not alone in that the hillside had a number of families doing similar for their beloved deceased. If you have ever heard of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, you might know that it is the confluence of the Shenandoah and Potomac rivers and the site of much US Civil War history. My parent's grave overlooks the town and the rivers and is a beautiful site that brings back many memories for me.

@figtreeprophecy you do know that Christmas as we celebrate it has nothing to do with the birth of Christ, right? Shepherds didn't keep their flocks in the fields at night during the winter months, they kept them indoors with them where it was warm. The 25th of December is not the birthday of Christ, it is the pagan Roman holiday of Sol Invictus, "the Birthday of the Unconquered Sun". If you're going to go quoting the Bible, at least know what it is you're really celebrating. No offense intended to Christians, as I am one myself, I feel its just logical not to not spoil this video and a great time enjoying nature with Vanessa, by inserting old misconceptions about when Christ was actually born.

No, I didn't know that you and the people enjoying this video were celebrating a pagen holiday. My apologies. I thought you all celebrated the tradition of Christmas as the birth of Christ! Again my apologies! I personally believe Christ was conceived on Dec 25. thus began dwelling with man on that date. I derive that from M't 1:18 and Like 2:6. Anyway, I am Christian as well and celebrate Passover, not Easter. And the for sharing, I'm perhaps a bit wiser regarding your all religion. I don't consider God a religion, but a reality. So it may not be accurate to say you all have " religious " views. Way to much to clarify here! A very nice video by a very precious woman! God Bless.

Yes the common Snail. One i used to forage for when in the Army. I would boil them with garlic sauce made with butter. Stinging Nettles to it tasted great but left an after taste which was not nice LOL. I love living with nature the way you do. I suppose it gives us a sense of purpose in many ways. There are many people that cannot get out of their houses for one reason or an other. They are relying on video,s such as yours to give them the feeling they are with you the same way as i do. Should never be any stress at any time of year yet with this lock-down stressing has no option. I try to keep myself busy in my garden but at the moment the rain does not allow me. So i sit here in-doors and design recipes for out door cooking so i make them as easy as i can so as when i get out again i know what to forage for and how to cook it Take care stay safe and have a wonderful year.....
