Leica really needs a community of people who actually are photographers. If you go on the Leica groups, you see 80% of really bad photos as most people who buy a Leica are not photographers and they just want to have a Leica. On the contrary if you go a Fuji group for example, then you see a lot of good photos as they are people who actually use their cameras. I recently bought a Leica M10R and I struggle to find a community where we can discuss technical things and most of the times I get no answers. Keep doing your thing. I love your videos, especially this one as I am from Rome. I live in Oslo thought so if you are passing by, just give a shout
Thank you! I don’t completely disagree… Leica is definitely prone to “collectors.” But there is a community out there. I’ve been finding people along the way. Many of them added Leica to their existing work, and maybe Leica slowly replaced all their other gear. Check out @forrestmankins on IG as an example. Same with @bertymandagie. I know Berty and he’s a solid guy and an incredible artist. They’re out there! Thanks for the kind words.
Your videos have heart and soul...Not just photography...Great job! Love the community.....We do have some bad apples in our community (like any community) but spending quality time with the good ones is the best!
hi i am still kind of noob with photography. What is special about Leica? (Genuine question!) i think the images come out are really nice, but i realized it is so expansive too! How is it different from cameras like Sony? (I shoot with Sony)
I shoot Sony as well, and have for years. I still shoot Sony, and don't see that changing anytime soon. Can't beat the autofocus, the tech, and the overall results of the images. With Leica, it's a very different experience. You can't really compare it. In some ways it's better (lenses), and in many ways it's also worse (no tech, and even some basic functions aren't always there). That said, I absolutely love the experience. It's like this... when I need to get somewhere fast, I drive. When have time or just want a change up, I may walk (if I'm in a city). Both get me there, but both are completely different experiences.
