Hey man, hope this finds you well. I really enjoyed your take on the new remake, we all have our own opinions on things but I really do appreciate a more optimistic outlook to it (which I hold as well that this is a good change moving forward despite the hiccups); until I saw the comments section completely missing the point to your video. Don’t let the hate get to you, just wanted to let you know you make some great content, keep it up!!!
Im USUALLY the minority in this case so just gonna say I honestly super enjoyed the davey back fights and actually loved silver fox foxy, nothing important just classic pre timeskip fun
It is rushed, if you saw ellipse sabaody in the " old " anime and compare it to this one, you do feel the pacing break everywhere. Some scenes just pass from one to another without any transition or link in between, it makes it hard to watch even for new viewers, heck some scenes are actually confusing. The quality in pacing is the same as one piece Kai or Yabai : just cutting some enormous parts of one episode and stick it to the next. Now you have the choice between bad slow pacing and bad rushed pacing with both version of fishmen island x) also I don't think anyone said that the remake was ugly but it's clearly not a remake as only some scenes had post production redone onto them ( if i'm not mistaken. )
I don’t think it was officially said it was a remake. It was labeled a remaster as in with better animation and pacing ( which people are split on.) More or less the new fishman island so far has been more good than bad. Plus we’re not that far in, so we’ll just have to wait until fishman island officially starts.
There's no middle ground with some people. Suddenly 2 chapters per episode is too fast. Wit Studios is probably rethinking the pace per episode for their version of One Piece. Oh, and the first episode is the only one that skipped pages.
@@fghjxcvb I consider a series good if it has cool art, cool story, cool characters, etc... But before that I prefer understanding what happens. If the scenes that get cut away result in the scenes remaining having misplaced objects and characters I get thrown out of the experience and I do NOT consider it a good adaptiation. It's almost like watching Star Wars and skipping ONLY the moment where Darth Vader cuts off Luke's hand, then you have no idea why he lost, why he isn't gripping with his right hand and why he's so suddenly desperate. A whole page was cut, but same goes for single panels and dialogues, apparently unremarkable, but since the story is built to be read though these panels (even the small ones of small situations that have small effects on the narrative) it appears as if something is missing. The last time I touched FMI (manga and anime) was in March 2024, I had all the time to forget everything, and when I came back I saw it as new, yet there were those little cuts that made the experience jarring and unpleasant. This project seems clearly rushed, it has NO quality control and thus is not suited for proper consideration, like the Episode of East Blue, Episode of Arabasta and Episode of Skypiea, they are RECAPS with flashy animations, so you look at the lights moving fast on screen and monke brain will release dopamine, then you go online saying it's the best thing ever when all they did was put a yellow-purple gradient on the sky. If you want to be critic, then attack the point from every angle, by being reactionary you allow yourself to be manipulated into liking anything, you'll never form a real opinion and always go with the mass, and the mass moves like the slowest (in this case dumbest) of its kind. Don't be dumb.
@@scalzacrosta5300 It's only 1 scene that was noticeably cut. Fake Nami walking up to Nami. And people kinda ganged up on that (which I get). If you and others want these episodes to cover 1.5 chapters, so be it. PS. I have no interest in being a critic.
Pacing is still the problem, but correcting the pacing without adding much new animation is the wrong answer. Also shading cells that were never meant to be shaded just looks bad. I would have rather they kept the flat coloring and instead made new animation to increase the pace without the stilted break-neck editing, however that defeats the point of this remaster: to buy time for the animators, VAs, and Oda to recover from 20 years of pedal-to-the-floor production with little to no breaks. Also I think they chose fishman because it sounds like the new anime is going to move a lot faster, so the remaster will be longer-lasting if they stick to post-timeskip.
I was constantly shook out of the experience thanks to the inconcistencies it created, they could have at least remade some of them to remove this kind of problems. And I had purposely tried forgetting as much as RtS and FMI as I could, and most cuts were way too obvious and jarring.
Dogshit take bro. The pacing was never the problem!!! The same panels over and over of the crew running and whatnot was the problem. Take the 1st controlled kings haki moment for instance. In the original you get the slowmo hype of "wtf is happening did he just dodge a bullet??? And boom the eyes, and everyone is out cold before Luffy takes another step" compare this to the new... You don't even realize what he did if you haven't watched the old or the manga. Horrible pacing, and hell that's one of the most important moments right there..
I just wanna say one thing. To all the One Piece haters who say it’s terrible because of pacing, you try to accurately pace an anime that you’re making in conjunction with the manga. Unless you’re making the anime after the final serialisation of the manga it’s extremely difficult to pace an anime accurately to its manga counterpart
this is not just bad pacing here but also bad animation ugly effects characters literally no detail rough work.. it will go down as the worst remake in history..not worth the time..instead of producing this trash remake they should have continued working on original episodes...

The point is to not add new animation.
Its just a filler until the rest of punk island is complete.
They're pre judging
I've been waiting over and over again for eternity already, and I'll wait till the end of time, if that's what it takes.
0:37 well it isn’t proper pacing, they went from too slow to wayyy too fast and choppy.
The sanji thing is still present
It’s true, unfortunately. But not having to spend three episodes on that moment was nice.
This is underrated
Im hoping this means that the pacing for egghead is gonna get better lol
imo it sucks that they cut out all the actual pages from the manga that they did but its not as bad as people say it is.

Tank chopper and Sanji dying 50x is the best part. The rest is Mid.
Gold covered shit is still shit
You didn't engage with the arguments properly

Fish men arc simply sucks
If you didn't like Return to Sabaody as it was before, you don't deserve this version. Or maybe you do, because I liked the six episode RtS better.
