Sunday afternoon, and I was tired from chores - painting the 89yo house - NZ bungalow, and applying moss remover onto some lower boards prior to painting and the moss on the roof of the garage, maintenance on the two blades on the ride-on mower, resetting the deck level, making teas and toast and sandwiches for two - as you do :), watching some Ukraine videos, 44 Teeth Bavarian rides, and looking for some cruising AMC videos and really enjoyed the view and scenes from 2 weeks ago... Thanks Andy from some down to earth motorcycle riding enjoyment!! Enjoy the banter and the drone vids and the amazing scenes from the 360!! Graeme NZ
Just rewatched this for the third time. You've done a superb job of showcasing the incredible scenery in this region Andy. Superbly put together, with a great soundtrack, and fun banter. Helped by stunning weather you were lucky to catch which makes it all look so cinematic. The Oscar for best Motovlog goes to....AndyManCam. 🏆🏆
That has to be your best video to date 👏 this tour keeps getting better and better. I can't believe how beautiful Norway is and how lucky you guys got with the weather. Thanks mate 👍
It just gets better and better Andy. Magnificent scenery, fabulous roads plus a distinctly Pingu vibe to the intercom conversations. Best touring video I've seen for quite a while...
I must say, you have really done a good job when planning your trip; you covered many of the great roads here in the western parts of southern Norway. Good to see you got such splendid weather! Not to be taken for granted in this area. Also, excellent editing - really enjoyed watching! Thanks!! 🏍️🇳🇴👍🏻

Don’t worry Marko, that’s the excuse I’ve used for the last 9 years! Finally the motivation to do it overcame everything else and WOW am i glad it did! Magical experience that i will never regret moving heaven and earth to realise!
Just found your channel and am loving the incredible effort you have put into your cinematography and editing. Well done!! Looking forward to your future content.
Another awesome video Andy… More incredible scenery, brilliantly captured on camera… (And an explanation of the lack of the need for Ian’s ‘support vehicle’ this trip! 👍😎) Keep the videos coming!👍
After watching your videos, I'm planning on travelling up Norway mid July cant wait to get amongst those roads, just ben for a long weekend from Mid Cheshire England to Benidorm for some warm weather hill twisties on the Costa Loop
@@AndyManCam As a suggestion for another video with a bit less effort, (and if you haven't done it already or are thinking about it) ... how about a recap video with some stats like what the trip cost, riding time in total, number of miles/kms travelled, etc. and recalling anecdotes you might not have captured fully on video or sharing your overall feelings of having accomplished it and whether you'd do it again, etc. etc. With your humor, oh, sorry, your humour and narrating skills, it would probably a great video too. 😁
Thanks Scott! Yeah that’s already planned. We kept pretty good records of what we spent and I’ve got all the routes saved, so shouldn’t be too difficult.
Great stuff Andy! Arco branded boulders...😂 Like that one. The upside down shot through the tunnel was a nice touch too! Fantastic roads, weather and scenery, must have been a cracking trip, looking forward to seeing the rest.
Stunning...just incredible. Thank you for sharing! And those underground roundabouts- or undergroundabouts, as I like to call them - are really impressive!

Oh boy....Simply stunning. Do I feel stupid whinging about the 360 footage on the last video now or what? 🙁 (It's much more watchable this time!) Just amazing work, and an amazing film. I hear you on the fuel thing. I got into the habit of filling up in the morning on my first trip to the Pico's as the petrol station was about 250m from my hotel. 👍 The following year, I was very low on fuel on more of a 'proper tour' I rode to my hotel in Dobres. I later realized my error...I checked the satnav...nearest fuel Potes....20kms.....I was heading in the opposite direction ....Riano....nearly 60kms away....where I knew of a fuel station. I decided to 'chance it' Thankfully we made it, no problem. 👍 PS I saw that crash on the Versys..... I have no idea what you did 'wrong' either... sometimes on low tech, heavy bikes, fully loaded, on a good lean angle, you are just asking the bike to do something it was never designed to.
Haha! No need to feel stupid, comments like that are how i know when to dial it back! 💪🏻 I think you could be right about the off. The tyres were ‚old‘ tech aswell and not the best i could have bought. Lessons learned all over!!
I drove nearly the same route only a wheek after You where in Norway, but I followed a Cold Front with Torrential rain all the way up past the Arctic Circle. Not the same experience... Down to Geiranger and down Trollstigen in fog that was so thick that i could not see the edge markings on the Road...
Oh wow, sorry about that mate. So it looks like we were REALLY lucky! We did get a bit of rain and fog on the Trollstigen, but not enough to spoil the experience thankfully.
I recently picked up your interview on the Bikes Burgers Beers podcast. I hope all went well for Iain and that was quite a commitment to jack in your job to go on this trip with Iain. 👍😇
So far so good, with a few major bumps in the road just recently. Fingers crossed he's over the worst and will be abck on the bike soon. I've always worked to live, not lived to work. Much to the chagrin of Mrs Mancam, but hey, life is for living. I'd rather die poor than be a rich slave.
Thanks for posting. Great video. The urge to return is incredible. Would do it differently, if I had the opportunity to go to Norway again. Instead of heading north, I would spend my time in the south. It would make it easier to rent a bike in Germany and ride it into Norway or so I think.
My pleasure! Makes perfect sense. To be honest i was really surprised by how immediately it was all so stunning. We were expecting it to slowly get amazing, but it’s all on the doorstep!
The west coast of southern Norway has a lot of nice roads for motorcycle riding. Yes, the northern parts of Norway are amazing, but I assume a lot of the riders that have North Cape as their main destination will miss out on a lot of great roads and places as they will have to do long and efficient stretches a day within a limited period of time…
@@TheTor_Detours I don't regret doing the northern portion on my original trip. My intent was to say, if a second trip were to take place I would focus on the southern portion. The roads were great in the north. After viewing the videos from Andy, the conclusion would be that there are no bad roads in Norway. Originally, the plan was to rent a bike in Germany to ride all the way north (Norway is an amazingly long country). With our time constraints, it was not a viable option. Renting a motorcycle in Norway also proved a challenge.
I can only agree. We were initially disappointed when we realized that Nordkapp was just too far away. But with what we saw and experienced, we have zero regrets!!
Man, I've missed out when I rode that fjord on the other side. Towards Odda and Haugesund. I went through the tunnel roundabout but the other way. Need to change my priority for the next trip. Maybe I'll manage to avoid doing 8hr rides across the entire country and get to take such detours.
50/50 chance i suppose! Blind luck that we got the side with those views. My priority will forever now be to enjoy the trip first, cover the distance second. This was by far the best biking experience of my life!
Funny how me and friends look for exotic touring places around Europe, when we have this at our doorstep 😳 It's probably bcs we are so damn used to it.
Hi Andy, Great series so far. Looking forward to the next episodes. Norway is definitely on my list for the near future. I was wondering... When you record your footage, you have to sync your audio with your cameras. Normally, you do it on the side of the road by clapping (or am I wrong?). But how do you do it on the fly, when you are on the move?
Thanks YG! Yes i do the clapping and often horn beeping at the side of the road. When I’m on the fly, i tend to still do the clapping, but just with my hands closer to the mic and with the visor open, so that the clap is picked up on the audio.
Thanks very much BYM! The weather really was a blessing! It didn’t hold throughout, but no regrets! I was already beginning to feel the fatigue at the end of this day and it sadly just got worse!
@@AndyManCam I use my R1200R (with Wunderlich screen) for touring and even though the accessory screen helps its not as good as an adv or purpose designed tourer. I've got a few more miles on my body clock than you and I couldn't tour now on the S1000R I had a few years ago.
Paying for the ferries is still a bit of a mystery to me. They scanned the number plate of my bike every time but none of the charges ever showed up on my credit card. Maybe I got lucky. Or, maybe not now I’ve posted this 😅. Editing and scenery off the scale 👍👍
They told us they would send an invoice to the registered address of the bike, it could take up to six months, as I only had my bike 5 days before using the ferries and sold it not long after the trip I’m not sure if I will get the invoices😂
Still no bills here either. We did have to pay about a quarter of them on the spot. But like you said, we’d have been happy to pay at the time too. It was one of the most reasonably priced bits of the trip!
The stunningest! It was middle to end of August Greg. But we were told repeatedly that we were very lucky with the weather. So it’s a bit of a gamble to go at that time!
The country that just keeps on giving! Can't get over how stunning this country is. Simple stunning and that word doesn't do it justice!!!
The commentary is like travelling with the Clangers, it's hilarious 😂 😃 😄
I do what i can to help! 🤣

I totally understand that. But then again, I’ve never lived in the thick of the good riding!
Very nice video 📹 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Great video as always Andy, love the music used. Blessed with great weather! At what point do you stop loving the CB for touring?
Thanks very much BYM! The weather really was a blessing! It didn’t hold throughout, but no regrets! I was already beginning to feel the fatigue at the end of this day and it sadly just got worse!
@@AndyManCam I use my R1200R (with Wunderlich screen) for touring and even though the accessory screen helps its not as good as an adv or purpose designed tourer. I've got a few more miles on my body clock than you and I couldn't tour now on the S1000R I had a few years ago.
Totally get that! I’ve got too many hard miles on my chassis and the KTM is a very welcome break!!
@@imw7094 haven’t got mine after 2.5 years. Would have been happy to pay them at the time though.
Still no bills here either. We did have to pay about a quarter of them on the spot. But like you said, we’d have been happy to pay at the time too. It was one of the most reasonably priced bits of the trip!
Stunning scenery! What time of year was this trip?
The stunningest! It was middle to end of August Greg. But we were told repeatedly that we were very lucky with the weather. So it’s a bit of a gamble to go at that time!
Did you find you lost weight after the Norway tour?
Haha! You’d think so! Luckily there were lots of cheese sandwiches to keep the calories up! 😂
Voice on comms unit sounds like Swedish chef from the muppets
Bort bort!
Awesome! What month was this trip done?
Thanks Dave! We were there in mid to late August.
