ZERO Clearance Bandsaw Insert / How to / Woodworking

In this video I'll show how I made Bandsaw Insert from a cheap cutting board. HDPE (High-density polyethylene) is a great material to make jigs, inserts and runners for your powertools in your workshop. It's really easy to make and will last more than the one which came with my bandsaw.

Yo me he hecho un par de ellos, este es el segundo y estoy bastante contento con el resultado. Son baratos y fáciles de fabricar y muchísimo más resistentes que los de serie. No entiendo como en sierras de cinta de más de 500€ se dignan a poner esa clase de insertos baratos que tras el primer uso se rompen...

That was a great use of the router to get the thickness to match. That is a issue I've always wrestled with. I don't care for OEM or aftermarket inserts, instead opting for brass but that's not always practical. That's for the idea!

Thanks Rob for your thoughts. I was thinking about making one out of brass but just for the price of the material I choose to follow with HDPE. 100x cheaper and really easy to work with. Regards!

Hola Juanma. Hasta ahora suelo usar las del mismo fabricante aunque tienes un montón de tiendas donde venden sierras para las medidas que precises.
