Maybe only for saurian and not people, I have a suspicion that saurian are related to phlogiston, which is the primordial form of elemental energy because the Traveler can morph into saurians instead of getting the pyro resonance power. If Enjou did revive the saurian then maybe he is very adept in manipulating elemental energy.
from what I understood, the saurian "Nana" was not implied to be dead, it jumped to the cliff and went missing, it actually fell to enjou who was happened to be there at that time (he was referring this saurian as bungee when he told the kids a story) it was infected by the abyss and kept under his custody for recovery until it finally recovered then he gave it back to the villagers

Now due to the abyss's different time scaling, If they're in the abyss that moves slower than teyvat so for them it hasnt been 500 years. .Given that surtologi's SPECIAL power they got shortly before khaenriah's fall (like gold's is alchemical creation) is most likely transformation then enjou would be the perfect proxy. my theory (although it is a big grotesque) is that the sinner's "ate" bits of the "second who came" and gained portions of it's power transforming themselves. Now whether they did this willingly or not is another question.
But it's already confirmed that Enjou is part of the Abyss order and in Kinich's story quest he even emphasizes that he's a low Ranking member and is not part of the siblings main circle of order

Like the video said, are there really that many abyss lectors to just let them go to any region that they want. I think his title says it best as "The Thing that calls itself Enjou". He might be pretending as a pyro abyss lector for all we know. He's suspiciously associable with being Surtalogi/The Foul or Skirk's master due to some hints and clues on why TF he knows the sht that he knows like soul retrieval through bungee jumping in Natlan, why the fk he'd arson TF out of enkanomiya's library, etc. He sus as hell

山下 can be read as Yamashita or Sanka, so technically the name translation is correct either way.
