  • Our first port of call was in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. We booked an excurion with a private tour company and visited several attractions: Teleferico Cable Cars, Lis & Liz Tea and Coffee House, Umbrella Street, Pink Alley, Amber Museum. We had a great day exploring this beautiful destination!
    We’re going on vacation and inviting you along with us on our trip! We are first flying into Miami and boarding a 5 night Carribean cruise aboard Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady travelling to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic as well as Virgin’s private island, The Beach Club at Bimini. We are then driving up to Orlando and visiting Walt Disney World and enjoying time at Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, and Disney Springs.
    We love to travel and we are beyond excited to get back to the travel life after a long 2+ years of restrictions. We will be featuring all of our adventures such as activities aboard the ship, rides and entertainment at the Disney Parks, shopping adventures, and other fun stuff we may do, and of course ALL the yummy food on our trip! So come along and enjoy the fun with us!

    I'm sailing next week and am trying to decide what to do in Puerto Plata. Could you tell me how to find the excursion you booked so I can look into it?

      @@thepeachpassport Hello. Thank you for this very informative video. Was that excursion booked through the ship so you have guaranteed wait time in case of any delays?

    • @thepeachpassport
      @thepeachpassport  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Faith_and_Hope_07 No, this was not booked through the cruiseline. It was a private tour so if you book privately make sure you allow sufficient time to get back well before all aboard time! I like to go shortly after we dock and get back a few hours before the ship will be leaving just to be safe and not be stressed.

    Great video. I am planing to go to Puerto Plata en November (cruise NCL) so this video was very helpful. May a ask how much you pay for that complete taxi tour?

    • @thepeachpassport
      @thepeachpassport  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was around $95 USD plus $20 for the cable cars and $25 for the private guide at the cable cars which saved us a lot of time as we skipped the lines and saw all the main attractions, plus tip at the end. Way better than through the cruiselines as it’s your own private tour to do as you please at whatever pace you want!

    Awesome content! Almost makes me want to do this but my heart is set on the buggy excursion.

    Does it cost extra to do the cable car or was that included in your tour fare?

    • @thepeachpassport

    Thanks for this video… we are cruising to Puerto Plata in February and we’re wondering… Taino Bay and the shopping area, the amber museum etc… is that all safe area to walk around? We are considering just a day on foot and shopping etc so curious on safety. Also do you remember to location/name of that cigar shop?
    Thanks!

      I am going there in May and I am from Dominican republic. From the look of the port, it looks pretty safe and well-maintained. I would just advise not to wander off into the city without proper guides.

    Hello…
    I checked your TH-cam channel!
    Your content is much better.
    But it is not reaching the audience.
    I am working as a digital marketer and advertiser.
    Can i talk to you about it?

    Will have to remind myself of this in about a year. Doing an RCL in 2024 that includes DR. Great video and very informative for getting out of the immediate tourist trap.

    Can you please share the name of the tour operator?

      We used E&J Taxi Tours Puerto Plata. Search them up on Facebook. Great little family business. Elian was a wonderful guide. He met us at the port (just outside the gates) and then took us wherever we wanted to go and we were back in plenty of time to not worry about missing the ship. Don’t be a pier runner!! 😂 Have fun!

      Thank you! I’m ALWAYS back at least two hours before or we book through the cruise line. No pier running for me!😅

    Your video has been very helpful. Did you just book the Cable car with the driver and then add the restaurant, Amber store and the city? I’m on their website.

    • @thepeachpassport
      @thepeachpassport  ปีที่แล้ว

      The tour is fully customizable so they will take you wherever you want to go! Just send him a list of what you would like to do, or ask him to pick the most popular places if you’re not sure and then he can quote you a price. Have fun!

    Hi, we are going to Puerto Plata next month and loved your excursion, thanks for sharing it. My question is how long did it last?, I want to make sure our ship do not leave without us. Thanks.

    • @thepeachpassport
      @thepeachpassport  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s entirely up to you how many places you want to visit and how long you want it to last as it is a private tour with your own personal driver. I always recommend getting back at least an hour before all onboard time if doing an excursion not booked thru the cruiseline to be safe, but personally I prefer to to allow a larger window of 2 hours so I don’t have to stress about missing the ship! No pier running here! 😂

    Great vlog. What time were you able to leave the ship and what time was the tour?

    • @thepeachpassport
      @thepeachpassport  ปีที่แล้ว

      I honestly don’t recall the times but it will be listed on your itinerary what time you dock. As long as you tell them what ship you are on and anticipated arrival time they will suggest what time would be good. I usually allow at least an hour after docking in case it’s really busy. But the tour operators are used to it so just discuss it with them.
