Glad you guys enjoy your visit to puerto plata, usualy we dominicans dont like being recorded and the laws forbid for close private spaces to be recorded due to peoples right to privacy but in public spaces you are free to record. Yes there is a cable car that takes you to the top of the mountain, the name is Isabel de torres mountain which is the dominican spanish name for queen elizabeth, up there the weather is pretty foggy and cold there are fourwheels escursions into the jungle and group zafaris, a gift shop, a radio station, restaurant, wellspring baths bussinesses and theres people living up there too, also the straw houses are inheritance from natives called tainos, therefor taino bay, tainos are the dominicans ancestors.
That about Dominicans not liking being recorded might be true for a few people, not the general population. We are the #1 Caribbean destination and love it when bloggers bring our wonders to the news. Look at social media, that tells you we are open to the world.
I think it was just the one guy, sometimes its like that when we vlog, In town they have more privacy laws but this was in public and at the tourist cruise port so I am not sure why he said no filming, might have been because the store was empty and they were standing around but who knows, I stopped filming as soon as he asked, other store clerks asked to be in the video so it could be anything, best guess is he didn't think 30 thousand people would see him say that, great comment, cheers
You are most welcome, we really enjoyed this port, it's one of our favorites for sue, the on at Mohogany bay on the Island of Roatan was also really nice, the cruise port in Cartegena Columbia is really awesome too for the animal encounters but the city was a mad house of cars and traffic and packed streets, but also worth a go and a great experience, the Bahamas and Jamica seem to have gone downhill safety wise in the last few weeks so I would do the ship excursions or Travelocity type ones for those ports right now just to be extra careful

Do performances occur all day at Taino bay port? Or only during a certain time of day

no the Lazy River is free to use
Did you leave the port or is it not advisable?
Its Ok the leave the port. There is an old fort not to far just over the bridge to the left outside the port that is fun to check out
What is the cost to use the pool and lazy river?
the pool and lazy river are free, if you want a chair to lounge you need to order drinks
