- Hey, how's it going everybody? I'm Phlinger Phoo and today Ark's Last Dino has just hit the servers, that's right the Rhyiognatha has landed! This is the Dino that won the last community vote to hit the servers. Have fun taming this sucker, it's a beast! In this video I discuss where to find and how to tame this massive bug!
In this video I take several dinosaurs to figure exactly how to get the best taming effectiveness out of all others available.

You're on the right track with the stat inheritance, but it has nothing to do with the visible value of the stats on the the "host parent." It's about the base levels into said stats. So the notoriously bad stat scaling on Gigas is irrelevant. If the Giga is born with 50 levels into its melee stat and the Rhynio inherits that, it won't show as the same percentage as it did on the Giga.

With the stats they use the base level, like what you can see in the incubator, rather than the actual numbers. If it did use the actual hp values then they would have 15k to 30k hp when using a Giga. So check the levels in the Incubator when hatching a sacrifice dino.
Finally a bug that is reliable and usable

There are a loot of things to consider. The level of the Mother gets a multiplier to the percentage of the fathers stat inherited, with a max level Ryniognatha, a fathers dragweight over 900 and cravings 5x satisfied giving max statpoints to the baby. But at the end you can get the stats of the mother or the father. The ark_wiki_gg has a really good breakdown on the details.

Phlinger, I just have say that, this is the pretty much awaited video for me! Since Rhynionatha spawns in The Island and The LostIslands maps, as a beginner some players doesn't have access to😂 the equipments like projectile net. So, there must be a certain way to trap them if you wanna get one... I think this video gave me some ideas how to do that, thanks to Plinger... Appreciate it.... 😊❤❤❤👌👏👏🙏👍
If we weren't using mods, I wouldn't have the net projectile either. Makes it much easier. Maybe. I haven't succeeded yet so maybe not. LOL
@@tracyherr624 Yea, it's not that much easy without the projectile net to get her down... But I used the method of chambers like Phlinger... We can trap her into a one chamber and then shoot it from the outside until the health goes down... I used a mount like Thyla to get closer to check her health, it's not that easy, but still it's doable... Very much in hardcore... 🤔😌👍
Problem: Brontos are veggie eaters. You can't force feed them to keep them alive. I was thinking a really high level Spino. At least I will try it.
Sweet Veggie Cakes would solve that unless they can't be eaten during pregnancy
A helpful tip:
The stats are coming from the amount of stat points the dino is born with in each stat. When you put an egg in the incubater it tells you where the points from the dinos level are applied to.
The more you complete the cravings the more points you'll pull from the parents.

Hi Phlinger I think you need to test with a high level mother and I realy whished you would show us the actual damage done by each one. Because the unanswered question is. Does the baby get the Giga damage with the mother's multiplier or does it always get a Rhyniognatha damage with whatever multiplier from the father or mother? Of course I always enjoy vids man keep it up :)
Maybe also bring a stocked up Daeodon. 🤔
Multiple comments already pointed out that the visible values of the stats are not relevant but it looks like the levels in a stats are the thing to look at. Not considering mutations I would agree on using Brontos, since it is much easier to find high level stats on Brontos. But assuming you are mutating it is better to use Gigas since you probably want to mutate Gigas instead of Brontos :)
I think in you comparison with Rex and Giga it goes down to the small sample size and the randomness of the process. It is not guaranteed which stats will be transfered.

The trap you design is missing the one chamber i designed that makes the rhyniognatha fly up and flip easier inside the trap. it needs to be 15 double door frame heights and 8 foundation lengths like that. You can make your dino get the baby too easy, try it, please
Try a megachelon too and see if it is better. It's drag weight is something like 1300. Would it be a good host?
Finally, something goes my way. I have a great line of rexs. Just need to sort the cravings Items
for 100% stat transfers you'll need to use a giga, bronto, carchar, or megachelon.. with rexs you'll only get a max of 78% ...

Higher the hp the host has the more stats tranfer
I believe Rex is not good.
It seems that the drag weight needs to be above 800 for the stats from the "father" to be passed on 100% (of course 100% craving is a must).
Ex: If you use Rex and Giga, both with 255 Melee, the Rex born will have slightly less, but the Giga born will have the same 255
What breaks the rhyino are the maxed out gigas on official servers used to tame them.
I found one, killed it for its pheromone, found another to get impregnated by but killed it by accident. It's so frustrating. Still haven't managed to take one yet
I thought the ark devs couldn't make an extremely op creatures unless that creature was apart of a mod........well I was wrong when they added the rhyniognatha to the game

I wanted to leave this tip on the Dododex but it will not let me. I guess you have to be on a telephone instead of a pc to leave tips. I finally found a male Rhyniognatha on my multiplayer server and killed it quickly with a Desmodus bat mount I was riding. I did not eat it with the bat because afraid the pheromone would disappear as bats turn everything into blood or spoil and some meat. When I went to the male corpse still there on the ground no pheromone inside was devastated. But looking in my bat mount there it was! So tip is if kill with bat the Desmodus will pick up the pheromone no matter what. And rather than risk landing in an unsafe swamp check your bat inventory first. It will be there. Don't have to visit the male Rhy corpse.
It would be so cool if you could use tamed females for breeding, just taking perfect mutation lines from dinos and stacking them onto it

once again Love your videos. and you work on this is prety good. but have some things that contradict what I did for science.
can not go by NUMBERS of the stats.. you need to know the POINTS of the stat. something that can be seen with soulball mod. or ARK Smart breeding... which is used even on official.
when looking at the host parent. hold H you will see 3 stats that make up what is needed.
1: Craving Satifaction % How many of the cravings you satisfy
2: Host Size Quality % the HOST parent determines this Quality
3: Egg Quality % this is determined by the level of the Rhynio
to get a max level out of the baby you need to get a 150 rhynio, have a max host such as a giga or charcar. Or something that has a high HOST SIZE QUALITY ( I am unsure of this right now) and you need to get all of the cravings. to get all the points from the parent.
the stats and colors you get from each is RNG. I have got anywhere from 2 to 4 of the high stats. all using the same rhynio and all the same level carchars so far.
cravings are tiered where 1 craving is about 30%, 2 is about 50% 3 was about 60% and so on. all cravings (some 4 some 5) will get you the max of the stats that are taken from the parent.
Your videos are so much quieter now. Intro on ABC was good volume, but rest is much quieter, also comparing to other videos on YT.

Do not use brontos. Rex if you don’t have a high mutation/stat sacrifice Dino. If you’re on official servers those veggie cakes will be expensive. It will eat the entire time it’s gestating and you’ll use 100s of cakes. A high level Rex has around 8k hp 450 melee which is better than a bronto. Also depends on which stats you prefer. If melee go Rex.
Got a 150 bug with a 145 bronto
The game played me the first craving was a giga egg rip
The second tame wanted a gold egg rip
So both rynio came out crap 😂😂😂

Ok big question here..how are you 100th level with those stats? 540 weight? You would have to soak EVERY point in weight just to approach 540 much less some of those other stats.
Bronto is 1000 drag weight
How bout a tek rex? That would be a good test.
And I wonder if mutated pets boost as well. Or if it would make a difference?

I dont believe you can use tek creatures, but I'm not completely sure on that...but for the possibility of 100% stat transfers you'll need to use a giga, bronto, carchar, or megachelon.. with rexs you'll only get a max of 78% .... and the mutated base stats can transfer.. but it's like with any breeding you have a chance of getting the stats of the host or the Rhynio...
I'm pretty sure Tek creatures are out of the question to. Had a friend inform me. So your right there. Would of been nice tho. And thanks for all the info.
You are wrong about that you can use carchas and you get good stats
doesn't matter if you use a giga, bronto, carchar, or megachelon...it only matters how many points each of them have in the stats you want......the melee reduction that gigas get doesn't matter at all... the points in the stat transfer not the melee damage itself.....
