George was never high pitch like Paul or even close, so they added effect with reverberation and something that lowered his pitch. In this specific live presentation we can hear a combination of his original voice and a lowered pitch reverb effect layered over. There is another live performance of hin singing Roll Over Berthoven but the microfone failed in the middle of the song or so and George went to the other microphone stand, and his voice turned back to lower pitch instantly, since the second microphone wasn't set with the effect made for hin.

There was a time, a fondly remembered time, when I would awake, crawl out of bed and punch "play" button of my CD player, and turn the volume up, way way up. Blasting out would be my "start 'em up" song of the day - Roll Over Beethoven with George playing at breakneck speed, Paul flashing a big smile, and John burning the rhythm, and me... well, I was bouncing my way dancing deliriously all around the living room. Hey, folks, you can be as young as you want --- just recall the day- - Roll Over Beethoven!
@@dunebillyofswanbeach4294 idk considering the band hated sgt peppers, ringo left the group during the white album and george left the group during let it be and then they broke up, i'd say he's right
I know...they were professional musicians already...but still..it is incredible for me, how Paul look more at the dancing people than his own bass fret...Paul just playing in "automatic mode"..... thanks for upload it!!!
Love the video. I've not seen it before, so thanks to the poster. They're miming to the recording, tho George is actually singing live. You'll notice no cables for the guitars. Common practice in those days for TV. They always had a blast.
I not sure, but I think this is partycentre Treslong in a smal town Hillegom in the Netherlands, it was often used by the dutch tv those days, so this was a performance for tv, After this they flew directly to Australia where Ringo join them
Great! George singing lead which he seldom did in the very beginning. And Jimmy Nichol on drums because Ringo was hospitalized with a throat infection... This was the setup also a short time later in Denmark. So Danish fans had to wait for Ringo’s solo career to see him perform live😊❤️
I assumed most people noticed. I'm guessing that's why the music was mimmed. I have yet to hear a true live performance with Jimmie Nicol on drums. He missed his opening fill at the beginning of this song. But, still a fun performance with George's live vocal.
NOTICE Ringo was NOT the drummer on this gig. I wondered why the cameras did not include him. I believe this was a short period of time when Ringo was sick. Funny how an ordinary drummer made the Beatles just a little LESS special. Ringo was thier secret sauce to genius writing.
Ringo was their last piece of the square puzzle. He provided a solid powerhouse foundation of the Beatles sound we know today. His charisma and humour is also very important. Provided a good vibe and balance to the band.
a song dedicated to my mother too (Beethoven was our ancestor on my mother’s side. And my mother is in Russia, she is left hostage there, lives as a homeless person, and is bullied around the clock by senior officers, they want to make me their slave. Here, on your the filthy West, “nobody believes” me, because he makes everything up. This is the easiest way to destroy a person whose ancestors knew honor. We, too, know honor. And we will fight to the end with this Russian power carrion. As our famous ancestor did...)
A cameo appearance by Jimmy Nicol. Not sure who was trying to put something in Paul's face, but the camera cut away to Jimmy Nicol, so I'm glad he got his due. I read that Jimmy became reclusive after Ringo rejoined the group, which is sad, because he did an admiral job filling in while Ringo was sick.

Great, those wireless guitars ! And they play exactly the same as on the record. Fantastic 🙂
It never dawned on me that it was George who sang this.. I never even thought about it.... Great tribute to Chuck Berry

Love the way they keep checking the dancer wondering when they will be attacked.
Fun to see the shyness or apprehension by George singing lead live
i noticed that too. He keeps looking back at John for approval
Love the dancing in the background. Timestamps it beautifully

This is in the Netherlands for Dutch tv, in the town Hillegom and the venue was (I think) Treslong, a kind of partycentre

The correct number is FOUR. Ringo sang lead vocal on at least one song on most, if not every Beatles album.
