How tall are you? I had a 04 r1 too, The burgundy one, and I could barely tip toe on that. This one, I can't even touch the ground but I love the bike.
You had it good before you lowered it. You’ll need to level out the bike now, Front needs to be lowered the same amount you lowered the rear. No need to flat foot unless your legs just aren’t strong enough to support the weight of the bike at a stop. I lowered my bike 1/2 inch to be able to touch tip toes each side or ball of foot one side. That’s all the footing you really need. Small riders have to make compromises and sacrifice alittle at stops, but up and going you’ll never know we struggle with bein short. Nice video though. Most people think you have to suspend the rear of the bike from the ceiling to perform the task of lowering.
impressive.. you are the only one ive seen so far just uses 2 jacks on the pegs. any tips on using this method? instead of me going out to buy the stands?
it is not possible to reach at 30.7 inches and the bike would drag the tire and also it is meant for the track so that's why its high so you have more lean angle. and also lowering you bike at any height will mess with the handling and stability. i think that the max is 2 inches.
I did not at we riding the bike it felt uncomfortable being this low. I raised the rear back up about an inch and the ride is much more comfortable as far a suspension angles. I don't see the need now to lower the front now. But had I left the bike rear as low as it was I would have lowered the from for sure.
Hey bro first off I love the video lowering YZF R1 is always a good knowledgeable video I’m doing the same thing I just bought 2018 R1 but how low did you lower it and will that be to low if you take it to motogp tracks I don’t want to lower mine and it affects me at the track
Darrius Butler doubt it, to low for the streets is far different than to low for a track. Tracks don’t have manhole covers, potholes, speed strips, construction and whatever going on on them like public roads do. I’m sure you could lower more on a track than on the road. All you need is tippy toe on both sides and ball of one fit if you shift in the seat to one side.
Omg!! You just destroyed the suspension on that bike. Why would you buy a brand new r1 if you were not comfortable on it to begin with. Usually a 1" drop is safe any lower and you cause problems. Now if you turn with any speed your gonna catch your rear sets pray not your feet. Raise it so that you have a 1 inch drop and you will be ok.
Most people who ride motorcycles don't track their bike. With that being said, yes, the bike will corner differently. Yes, the ride will be way stiffer since the rear of the bike is being compressed, which in turn would make it handle differently. However, for us shorter riders, sometimes we'd rather feel comfortable at lower speeds or at a stop, or pushing your bike rearwards, rather than being able to lean to the max. I love my r6 but I'm only 5'6 and I barely tip toe my bike. I haven't lowered mine yet just because I'm comfortable with being on one foot or just my toes. However, because of that, it has prevented me from parking in certain areas that are on an incline. I have to always think ahead. It would be nice if I could not have to worry about foot placement and bike lean at every stop.
did you have any issues with those threaded links???
Nice. I like R1s. But they're always been a tall bike for me. So I stayed clear of them. Went with a Panigale instead. Lol
I am 5.2 foot can i ride Kawasaki h2?

Did you do a video with the adjustable kickstand on it ?
how about the front ? Did you lower them too?
Can you tell me how tall you are? I'm Asian and 161cm tall with short legs 😂

How many inches is the maximum can be lowered by that kit?? Is it possible to achieve the 780mm seat height?

How did you adjust the lowering link height? Because in the manual emphasis that do not adjust the lowering link by yourself
Cool.

If you ride the bike frequently you get used to it leaning the bike to the right using your right foot 🦶 for the brake

Sarah Grassi I'm sure he's not going to lean that hard into corners okay
