after this semester taking 6 classes and seeing how disorganized and crappy my handwriting is, I decided to get an iPad. I can't wait I keep watching these videos, I'm tired of having like 10 books and papers everywhere.
ipad is great, took all my notes last semester on it, and never had a problem with it, easily archived and easily to get to at all times. It was worth it the buy, just wish i got a 12.9 inch pro instead of a 11 inch air 5.
A surface pro is also a solid option for this. OneNote lets you import pdfs/screenshots really easily and the surface pen is pretty great at pressure sensitivity and writing at different angles. Plus it runs windows so you don't really need a separate computer for other stuff like zoom calls/editing apps (unless you absolutely need macOS). Never used an iPad with apple pencil, but seems like a solid recommendation :)
Thank U For The Information & Tutorial... This Was Very Helpful & Useful Information... Continue Success & Keep Us Informed Of Ur Progress... I Can’t Speak For Others, But I’m Very Proud Of U Evening Not Knowing U... Ur A Good REPRESENATIVE 💯👀👍🏾✊🏾🖤👍🏾✊🏾🤔
love the vid man. I never knew I needed one till my brother's girlfriend told me about how useful hers has been since all classes are online. After watching this I literally just ordered it on apple along with the pencil.
I went through most of my nursing program without an iPad buttt I’ve been wanting one. after watching this i might have to get one and convince myself to use it to study for the nclex 😂
Thanks a lot. I will be starting freshman year at a top liberal college in PA and I have just acquired an Ipad Air based on your video and recommendation. Thanks
@@tylermccormick8444 Absolutely. I have already set it up just like yours, including ordering the notes app, Anyway, I hope you get to do a collaboration video with Dominique Cynthia, a sister who is a rising sophomore at Penn.
Wow. Now I’m def getting an iPad. I’m not even in college yet. I’m a senior, but I wanna get it before I go to college so I can familiarize myself with the app
This video was super helpful, I really appreciated it! I have a question tho: do you think the iPad would be just as helpful if you have a different laptop that might be less compatible with it (I have a Lenovo instead of a Mac, do you still think it’s still as good of a purchase?)
I think it's still a good purchase. The best thing about having the iPad and a mac is airdrop but from what I understand there's an application you can get on windows called snapdrop that works just like airdrop so I don't think your missing out on anything integral to the experience by not having a mac.
I already spent a lot on my laptop, do you think the cheapest $350 iPad is good enough if a lot of the work is held in the cloud? Nice video by the way 👍
Music I do think the iPad 7th gen is good enough to take notes. My friend Mercedes just got one for summer semester and she loves it so far. It comes base with 32 gb of storage so if opt for that one i would recommend using Microsoft Onenote because it offers free storage for your notes. Either way I definitely think it’s good enough. And thanks 👍🏾
Watching this video because your dad sent me to your channel. I just talked to him in the barbershop because I’m a computer science major at VCU so he was telling me about things I could do to help me out. Great video and now that you use the Ipad what do you use the macbook for?
Hey what’s up bro my dad was telling me he met you at the barbershop earlier. I still use the MacBook a lot for all my zoom calls for class and watching lectures and I also still use it a lot because there’s some programs like Logger Pro that I have to use that just don’t work on iPad.
Tmac221 Yea bro he gave me a lot of good info in the short 20 mins we spoke. I might make that investment on the Ipad because I take so much time every day doing handwritten notes. Good luck in your major and the rest of your college life
Can you access your notes from the iPad on your computer or is it not a big deal? And all the other stuff you covered in the video was super duper helpful thank you!!
I don’t think so. It’s nice to have devices in the same ecosystem but i don’t thing it would affect productivity my productivity with the ipad if i didn’t use an iphone
Some students at my school made a folder with the pdf versions of most of the etexts for the introductory courses. I just downloaded those pdf's and imported them as a note to the notability app. A lot of times when you buy an etext there's an option to download a pdf version of it so look for that if people at your school didn't make a folder with them.
I would prob say MacBook just because in Middle School at least for me they usually had worksheets and assignments printed out so I wouldn’t be able to use the iPad to take notes really
Adrienne Evans I would definitely purchase a laptop before an iPad. On a daily basis the iPad is fine for taking notes and doing research but sometimes there are programs and websites needed for certain classes that only support windows/ MacOs and not IPadOS
Julia Cruz For college I don’t think so. In college it’s more of a supplement to a computer. You can do like 95% of things you need on an iPad but there will be a point when you need Windows or Mac OS to run a program or website for a class. Not all applications and websites run on iPadOS
Apple should sponsor this mans, Because he just convinced me that I need an iPad for college.

I was trying to convince myself that I don’t need an iPad since I have a MacBook 😭 in conclusion, on my way to purchase an ipad 😳
Thanks for the tips! I’m heading to Penn in the fall and just bought an iPad
Yass me too :)
Cool what are you majoring in? (Btw I am majoring in biology at Stanford)
Bro, Apple better sponsor you now.
Raadiya Shardow @apple y’all hear that 👀
Man i went into this video with skepticism but you convinced me in the first five minutes 😭
I’m not even in college and you just convinced me that I need to go get an iPad
Thanks for this, just showed my dad this video to convince him to let me get an iPad for college 😊
ipad is great, took all my notes last semester on it, and never had a problem with it, easily archived and easily to get to at all times. It was worth it the buy, just wish i got a 12.9 inch pro instead of a 11 inch air 5.
An iPad was the best investment for my college career! Thanks for the informative video!
best video i have watched for tips for college kids. 👍you’ve convinced me more than i already was to buy

Very thrilled to see you again! Can't wait to see more amazing content. Keep it up man!

Me planning college in high school, and watching all Tyler’s videos.
tyler my man, you really convinced me to buy the ipad pro
Damn, that story of you losing all your work... I’d be traumatized too 😩. Happy your life has been made easier tho by having this product :)
Thank u that was real pain 🤧
yes, you convinced me
Well now i need to buy a ipad apple thank
Tmac221 for the advertisment
Thank You 😊 ❤
You sold me. I'm getting an Ipad
A trendsetter 🤩
would you recommend a cellular data plan or just a wifi plan
You got it boy Maggie
Thank you for your videos!
I applied to UPenn ed, believe that i will be admitted🙏
ahhh, attractive POC in STEM😌 and this has made me want to get an iPad
Hey we have something in common. I go to Upenn and I have iPad as well- albeit an older 10.5 one.
ty so much that was helpful

Cami Edwards yes. Notability has a mac application too and the notes i take on my laptop sync to my iPad and vice versa
I use notability for school too
Nice vid! I just have a question, I don't have an iphone so do you think that it will affect my productivity with the ipad?
I don’t think so. It’s nice to have devices in the same ecosystem but i don’t thing it would affect productivity my productivity with the ipad if i didn’t use an iphone
Do they post the lecture power points?
How were you able to get your etext as a “note” in the Notability app?

Ummm...... me in middle school. You recommend IPad Pro & magic keyboard. Or do you recommend the MacBook Air?
I would prob say MacBook just because in Middle School at least for me they usually had worksheets and assignments printed out so I wouldn’t be able to use the iPad to take notes really
What course are u taking?
If you had to choose to purchase an iPad or a laptop, which would you choose? (as a college student)
Adrienne Evans I would definitely purchase a laptop before an iPad. On a daily basis the iPad is fine for taking notes and doing research but sometimes there are programs and websites needed for certain classes that only support windows/ MacOs and not IPadOS
Tmac221 Thanks!
do u think getting an iPad would replace getting a computer, would u recommend getting one over the other
Julia Cruz For college I don’t think so. In college it’s more of a supplement to a computer. You can do like 95% of things you need on an iPad but there will be a point when you need Windows or Mac OS to run a program or website for a class. Not all applications and websites run on iPadOS
Tmac221 alrightt, thank you sm!!
Or any device
L!L SAMMY u should have a phone and laptop primarily but having a tablet on top of those helps a lot
Doesn’t have to be an iPad necessarily
I hate 2020 I didn’t pass my test so I am bummed out about it
But I hope I can go to a college in the future
Your mom is a genius
This was very helpful
Neat video!
Wouldn't this apply to any tablet? Why specifically apple? I believe you were using notability? Is that just an apple thing or...?
Y not a phone
