Starting DP1 for Comabt Eng on August 15th 2022 to December 6th 2022. It’s going to be hell based off what I’ve seen when it comes to the DP1 that started in July. It’s only 16 weeks though, just have to keep my head only my shoulders and survive ! Much love from HoldFast ! Fucking CHIMOOOO !

I’m starting my DP1 January 15th. I’m excited but nervous as fuck. Some of my buddies started their course today. I seen them at the mess and they said it’s already shitty for them hahaha

Is Reserve combat Engineer DP1 the same length, or is it broken up in to mods?
there's 5 mods which would take you 3 months
do combat engineers get alot of combat training like infantry?

Im at the end of my application and hopefully doing combat eng. I've been told DP1 is the hardest training in CF? not including spec ops obviously. any words of wisdom?!

No its not.. with OP honour and all the city boy crying the stress level got brought to the lowest it has ever been. Quantity instead of quality members.. Most of our best experience veteran have left the army. You can fail a test up to 5 time. 1 fail goes to a retest, then initial warning, formal warning, PRB (revue board) at this point CO discretion may be ask) and at Last Commandant decision to keep you around for one last retest... at this point Up to 6 retest on the same test. Welcome to the millennial army. If you ever fail something its the instructor fault. Just bring some physical aptitude you should be fine they even cut down the force test so all lazy and fat useless member could stick around having job in cantine, being attachment driver or part of a QM for their hole contract.
they have brought down the intensity of what it used to be but its still a very hard yet fulfilling career

@@Gabriel-x2y it's absolutely hilarious how our libtard of a prime minister has somehow rubbed off on our armed forces, our country is in a sad state, people are so sensitive these days that our government even felt the need to strip us of our free speech to avoid offending people, amd the no one gets left behind attitude means something completely different in our armed forces today then it did ww2, Bosnia, Somalia, or Afghanistan, its as if we are school children and the teacher can't fail a child, for that child will feel alienated, which has in turn stripped our youth of any sense of work ethic or accountability. God help our country and stop it Travelling down this destructive path modernist liberals call progressive change, i call it destroying a country from the bottom up. Our military will be a joke i the near future almost on par with the militaries of bosnia or say Kosovo, 1% of our gdp goes into military spending, that number should be alarming to Canadians, our country needs modern military capabilities, our citizens and the men and women protecting them and the little bit of freedoms we haven't voted away yet.

@@DesmondSimon I know this isnt him but I got some questions if you dont mind lol. First off, Do Combat engineers get alot of infantry training? Im at a cross roads of joining the engineers or infantry here in 2 months and engineers sounds great but alot of the videos on the training dont really show everything and I dont want to join up for it to just end up building bridges 24/7. second question is, Do you now if you have a better chance at being deployed somewhere as an Infantrymen because That is my main goal of what I want.
@@Nesqwikz in the military you are a Solider 1st and a Engineer 2nd. Also Engineers are usually the first ones out as they will need to clear the way, build bridges or remove any IED's that could injure the troops whom are to follow after the roads are cleared.

what does DP1 stand for?
Development period 1. It’s your course to become a qualified soldier.
Gagetown DP1's
Arty DP1= Easy, 5 week course; shells in holes
Armoured DP1= Bipolar; can be easy/insane, 10 - 15 weeks course (depending on vehicles)
Cbt eng DP1= fucked, 18 weeks, 2 month indoc period, highest medical withdralls, most beasting and overall cock.

3 months for the reserves, about 5-6 months for reg force I think.

@@sowad67 No I am on course presently and we have a few without their SQ/BMQ-L. If it happens, your unit will send you on Bmq-L shortly after your arrival.
