Owned one since about 2012. Still going strong with it. By far my favorite easel.

This is truly well designed. I just bought a nice portable easel, but would likely have gone with this one had I known about it. It does trouble me, however, that someone says he has waited nearly 4 months and has gotten the runaround from the mfg. That would stop me cold. That instead of answering the negative review, they deleted it doesn't bode well for this company. If I see it in a store, I'll consider buying it, but paying Madison / Soltek in advance? I don't think so.

I used canvas on 1/4" MDF board for my oil paintings. Can the easel hold a board weight or can it hold only a stretched canvas?

I have to sit when I paint, would this easel work for that? The lower painting crossbar would have to be able to come way down, is that possible?
