The Gulag Archipelago put me in a dark place. Man that book is tuff!!
Konstantin Kisin mentioned it in one of the his interviews..i got it!! I can't wait to dive in!! I was looking up some writings on it...I think I am in for something really hefty!! Thanks for the reminder😊
@@corrinapaolini3942 no problem. Get some antidepressants ready lol
(yes, two are primarily historians, but, from history comes the shapes of man)
Very good!!
This list he's making of books, a lot of them are on my book list I call "The Playbook" because instead of being a warning to future generations for us to try to avoid, they become a standard for modern civilization to follow.
This reminds me of A.A and N.A Meetings
Sometimes. Lol.
I am reading the books about western history written by will durant,,is this a good Idea or should I read the books that Peterson suggest?
What will i gain by reading them?
You educate yourself with a set of Great Books and a Bible.
Kyle well, that's a reasonable start.
Bilble... pass!
Quixotic Indiscipline you shouldn’t, it’s the base of west culture. Don’t read it as a religious book, read it as a series of stories of humanity (from west perspective).
@@joaofernandes5217 I've only read about half the old testament, but a lot about religion. I do have a sense on how it has influenced society through the centuries. I suppose I will try and get bacl to read the whole thing, but right now books about superstition, violence, incest and magic are kind of low on my list.
Bhagavad Gita is a great one as well! 💪
Thankuou
"You don't destroy the patriarchy. You revivify your culture."
I’m surprised there are no ancient or medieval philosophers on that list
Those books on the list are more pragmatic, they will teach about the problems of our times, our culture but not universal truths.
Why does this resinate with me?
Reminds me of razumikhin’s monologue on truth, as he is taking raskolnikovs sister and mother back to their apartment
I never knew pinnochio was so deep lol
I wonder what Dr. Peterson would think about Don Quixote and The Trail.
Mind = blown
Which books would anyone recommend from all of these authors!?
Me sees JP room
Me: Say SIKE RIGHT NOW
Anybody know where I can find the full video?
For the young men (and young women too) who have read the manga Berserk and/or seen the anime, you will find much more depth in The Gulag Archipelago to chew on especially when it comes to causality and other philosophical questions.
Good content ❤
read Nabokov
jordan peterson is spitting absolute facts
who should i read first for a good foundation?
bible new testament
Old Testament first for context.
Jordan Peterson: Clean your room!
Also Jordan Peterson:
Jordan Peterson, I think we should get together for a discussion and I think it should be filmed because It might be pretty damned hilarious.
Amazing
Couldn’t find the lists on his website, can someone help?
Which books all by eeach author of specific ones
All facts. Every. Single. Word.
I'm in my 40s and stagnant
Thanks for honoring my freedom of speech.
Jordan's perception of "highest good" is Christianity ... either Catholic or Protestant ... as it can't BE both.
Religious theology divides devotees into right-fighting opponents ... which is the exact opposite of the word "love."
It is religion itself that is sinister.
Can anyone give me their thoughts on reading books from Machiavelli?
Did you ever get started?
Other people can help you find your own words by acting as positive and negative models.
No booklist. Just recommends authors: Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, Solzhenitsyn, Orwell, Huxley, Nietzsche, Jung.
And apparently Collodi (Pinocchio)
