R.E.M. "You Are The Everything" Mandolin Lesson (Easy/Fakebook version)

- I've known this song for like 25 years and I couldn't find anybody else with a lesson for it, so here it goes. I'll be making another with a few corrections soon. Mandolin: The Loar LM-310 ....... You tube never fails...amazing. I was listening to this song this morning and thinking I should dig out the mandolin I bought 25 years ago intending to learn but never actually getting around to it. I thought well what are the odds I can find a tutorial on you tube. And here it is
One of those chords I do is wrong (in the pre-chorus, I think), you can see the right ones here, from after I figured out the right way:

Thanks! I saw your post on Mandolin Cafe about your Loar LM-310, and the links to your videos. Super cool. I just bought a Loar LM-310 myself and can't wait to try out this tune (one of my favourite REM pieces!) I'm actually an upright bass player but there's something about the mandolin that calls to me from the other end of the spectrum. Do you still have your Loar? Has it held up over the years?
I still have it and it has held up great! Festooned with everything I could put on it! Armrest, bridge, Tone Gard, endpin jack w/ piezo pickups inside, and a tuner clipped to the headstock. I even added a pickguard! I may have even made a video about it. @@Billkwando Thanks! I'll check out that other video then. Do you recall what armrest you picked up. I'm thinking that would likely be my first accessory purchase. The bridge possibly being the next.
@@jimslominski8006 I made mine from an old VHS rack wooden "book end" and a violin chin rest. LOL I have some pics of it on Imgur somewhere. I recommend the Cumberland Bridge. It's like 80 bucks but I made a few videos about it and it does improve the sound and make it way louder.
@@Billkwando Yeah, I saw that video. It made a huge improvement from what I could tell. More volume and definition. I’ll have to look into a homemade armrest too then. I saw some folks at Mandolin Cafe mention that as well. Could be a fun project. Thanks for all the info. It’s much appreciated

Yeah I know, I've been meaning to make another video. That's why I changed the title to Easy/Fakebook version. I'm not near a mandolin right now, but I believe it's a C with an extra note like:

I'll try to put it on my to do list to make another video. Oh yeah, in the RS video I'm strumming it wrong, but I transcribed it right lol. I get the nerves sometimes when I'm making videos, LOL. Do you think folks would be interested in more of these? I know a couple more R.E.M. songs, and a couple 10,000 Maniacs songs (one of which I also have a Rocksmith video for, if you followed the other link).
This tutorial help me to play this song, because It was difficult to me to hear what the mandolina do in the chorus. Maybe you can try to put the camera in another angle.
