It'd be cool to see a MTMTE album with all these various songs on it, but I doubt that'd ever happen. Out of curiosity, what style of music would people give RID if that had a soundtrack? Personally, I reckon more orchestral and dramatic, sort of like the music from the movies, just because I think it suites the tone of that series and is completely different from MTMTE's sort of indie, folk-rock sort of style.
i saw these guys 5 nights ago in Perth, western austrlia. it was the most emotionally charged crowd i have ever been in. these guys were sooooooooooooo fucking amazing. their stage presence is mesmerizing and they sounds the same live as they do on theirs albums. i'd love to see them live again soon because they are just THAT AMAZING live. i really love will sheff's voice and the bassist actually sang the deep part at the show and he sang it just as well as this guy. Yhey have amazing talent!!!
I warmed up for Will and Jonathan as a duo at Flipnotics ( RIP) when I played dobro for Ethan Azarian. The two of them ( Jon and Will ) sing so well together. It was one of the best things I have ever heard. I love this song and the voices.
heard this today on all music...its wonderful...needs to be shared with all your friends, enemies, neighbours, distant relatives....everyone must open their hearts and ears to this beautiful piece of music
I'm curious, how does transformers have anything to do with this song? Like I see all the comments about it and I have no clue how it's at all related? Is it mentioned in the comic or is it just a fan thing?
Mister Despacito the author of the comic, John Roberts, made this the theme song of said comic. He has an entire playlist for the whole comic. Please read “More than Meets the Eye”
You should listen to their album Down the River of Golden Dreams. It's amazing. Two of my favorite songs from that album are The War Criminal Rises and Speaks -and- The Velocity of Saul at the Time of His Conversion
ive been listening to this song/ watching the video for basically two weeks straight and i just now figured out the genius of this video. THere heads are being displayed on tv's on the shoulders of other people who play the instruments for them because they are stand ins, which is the name of the album! GEnius!!
A friend of mine recommended me to listen to this band, so he mentioned the band name. I searched, clicked this video, and so far I've been listening to this song three times already because I can't get enough it! Amazing!
i also have all of their albums they're totally awesome, they, beck, band of horses and gaslight anthem are in a level out of the reach of the other bands and artists in the world
I don't know why people have to say negative things here... Okkervil River don't mean anyone any harm. They're just goin' about their business of making exceptionally good music for anyone who wishes to take the time to discover it a little deeper than just hitting the first youtube clip that comes up. Like all their stuff, this is a quality song. But it is no where near my favourite 20 or so...
I love this song. Good work boys. Especially cool to see a band with some unusual "orchestration" with actual percussion instruments and brass. I'm very impressed.
i've just noticed a great considence, beck is my favorite solo artist and his birthday is july 8th, and okkervil river is my fave band and will shef's b'day is july 7th
I am so glad everyone else is here from Transformers too lmao. I want to read MTMTE but I'm a bit intimidated because I KNOW there's more before it I probably need to read unless I want to be lost and ugggghh comics are confusing
There's always www.TFWiki.com, plus the rest of the series is pretty good when you read it properly: www.reddit.com/r/idwtransformers/comments/6pmiqk/idw_g1_modular_reading_order/ [but yeah MTMtE is a great jumping-on point, definitely do it.]
Mtmte needs very minimal knowledge of prior idw tf works. You basically just need to know read hot rod and ultra magnus' spotlight comics to get a baseline for the characters everyone else is "new" to this series so its a good jumping on
if you want you could read All Hail Megatron, Last Stand of the Wreckers and research just enough of the characters. I only read All Hail, but believe me, you will appreciate the read when you reach further numbers of More Than Meets the Eye
we should not admire them because they are pursuing their dreams, who cares? We admire them because they make wonderful music. We shouldn't support their endeavors, we should simply appreciate their music.
"And every night finds us rocking and rolling on waves wild and wide... Well we have lost our way but nobodies gonna say it outright- they just go la la.. la la la!!!
@tdawgRP831 Since "indie" rock is in a category all its own, sometimes it can be tasking to find an exceptionally amazing band. Lovers of indie subcategories look in the least likely places to find what we love, since "nonclassics" such as OR are newer and less likely to find on mainstream rock stations and websites. You got quite lucky that you found Okkervil.
Millions of fans don't make a band great, Limp Bizkit was a great band? Nickelback is a great band? I think not. However Okkervil River and The Strokes both have an abundance of creativity, which is what makes a band great. By the way, nothing is lamer than negatively commenting on a song video because you're pissed that they don't make music that you like.
Did you listen to the lyrics? "And every night finds us rocking and rolling on waves wild and wide... Well we have lost our way but nobodies gonna say it outright- they just go la la.. la la la!!! In other words, the las are what people say to hide the words they should say, they're the 'stand-ins', which is the whole theme of the album, which you might have worked out if you'd paid attention and weren't busy making pointlessly cynical comments for clips you probably just watched once.
I listen to this song over and over again.. saw them at End of the Road festival in England in September, and they played this very spontaneously on a wooden boat in the forest, and it was brilliant. It's on my channel so go check it out, definitely worth watching! :)
More Than Meets the Eye theme plz
reading the idw comics mate? good ;)
Cool! Am I the only one that thinks the guy in 0:17 wears the same glasses as Rung's?
They do, my god LOL
Aura Turner shhh, that is his Mary Sue look.
***** XD

MTMTE is love MTMTE is life.
Mtmte es amor mtmte es vida! :'D
THE CMOOSE Hell Yes
Perfect profile pic for that comment.
So real
I agree
Actually a surprisingly good theme for MTMTE.
nefarious gremlin Geedis tho. (Geedis would fit among the Lost Light crew)
"DON'T LISTEN TO HIM! IT'S A TRICK! PULL THE TRIGGER!"
---_Whirl_
The story of a couple nobodies finding legendary heroes who perhaps don't even exist. BRILLIANT!!!!!
Even team Whirl
I can see how this song would actually be the theme song for MTMTE.
MTMTE THEME SONG!
I wanna see this put to MTMTE animation for an actual title theme.

I have to say, I've always been a big fan of what I call their "Sailing Songs."
We need a cartoon series based on More Than Meets The Eye.
I warmed up for Will and Jonathan as a duo at Flipnotics ( RIP) when I played dobro for Ethan Azarian. The two of them ( Jon and Will ) sing so well together. It was one of the best things I have ever heard. I love this song and the voices.

Apparently the Robot Kingdom is a big fan of More Than Meets The Eye
I mean; it’s perfect
Well, you know why I'm here, so let's not waste any more time, Crusadercons, transform and roll out!
The moment when Misfire and Swerve meet is kinda my favorite moment in the whole comic
@@piemanpie2424 actually it was mine too. Their chemistry is so natural

Heared it first from chuck...
very cool music..
same with Ra Ra Riot..
Chuck is very cool for new music :)
i also have all of their albums they're totally awesome, they, beck, band of horses and gaslight anthem are in a level out of the reach of the other bands and artists in the world
Another “MTMTE brought me here” comment but I’m 7 years late
Try 12
Beautiful voices! The deep voice sounds so good!
this song hits me right in the honey nut feelios
I would have to agree. I love his lyrics. Some of the best I've heard recently...Moving, intelligent. That's why I love this band!!
I don't know why people have to say negative things here... Okkervil River don't mean anyone any harm. I've loved it ever since, my favorite at the moment.
Awesome song. The video grabs your attention and makes you want to watch to figure it out. Great beat. Very cool.
Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it isn't good music, and it doesn't mean that other people can't enjoy it.
Nice video. The Stand Ins is a great follow up to The Stage Names. Thanks.
I love this song. Good work boys. Especially cool to see a band with some unusual "orchestration" with actual percussion instruments and brass. I'm very impressed.
MTMTE brought me here.
All three bands are awesome! Way to find the good stuff!
i've just noticed a great considence, beck is my favorite solo artist and his birthday is july 8th, and okkervil river is my fave band and will shef's b'day is july 7th
His voice. I just. I can't.......sigh
Obligatory "MTMTE brought me here."
I'm not usually doing it, but... guess why I'm here :P
MTMTE is my life now.
.......love it. I just love it! brilliant!
love this video clip!
Okkervil River are amazing and Will Sheff
is simply a genius :D
I am so glad everyone else is here from Transformers too lmao. I want to read MTMTE but I'm a bit intimidated because I KNOW there's more before it I probably need to read unless I want to be lost and ugggghh comics are confusing
I started the series from MTMTE and wasn't confused about anything. Do it.
There's always www.TFWiki.com, plus the rest of the series is pretty good when you read it properly:

I mean, technically, you don't have to read anything but MTMTE and Lost Light.
-Signed, someone that did/does the same thing.

I Love this band
we should not admire them because they are pursuing their dreams, who cares? We admire them because they make wonderful music. We shouldn't support their endeavors, we should simply appreciate their music.
I'm with you. I started belting out the la's that are on the album version and had to stop.
"...we just go 'la... wait...no"
Wow, this is really something. Extremely cool. Can't wait to see your next show in LA, we had so much fun at the last one!

@handsomevision That's bullshit. You've obviously never been to Austin. It's a fantastic city. Good people, great music, awesome vibe.
A.C.O.D.
obligatory MTMTE brought me here comment. never thought i'd be this affected by sad, misfit, gay robots that also turn into cars
but here we are.
MTMTEEEEEE
LOVE this song
@handsomevision well actually there from austin, not idaho. but all the same i guess.
Effects remind me of Talking Heads. Great song!
I think Chuck brought everyone everywhere ( or almost ) :)
Thanks! It is good! This is a girl though. What are your favorites?
video reminds me so much of "what katie said" by the matches

This song is just rocking all my shit away.
great song. good album. the stage names still owns it though.

Who here came for the MTMTE theme?
Cyber Searcher The entire crew of the Lost Light, even Getaway, the traitor.
ZackXevious counterpoint; getaway sucks, but he just wanted Megatron gone.
