Would be cool to walk that shore at night with a UV light, let those rubies glow.

That was my first thought!!!!!! I think that could of had something to do with the challenge finding the corundum. I like your thinking!!

Yeh, the rubies will shine at night with that UV light.

Who knows what other minerals that might show up walking lake bottoms.

Most lakes bottoms in Western North Carolina are covered in gems. I have seen some crazy stuff while bank fishing. It really surprised me.

I live in SC near Columbia. I love hunting the creeks and exploring for new spots. There's a layer that pops up around here with similar hematite, but the ones here rarely have the vugs, but I've gotten some really nice bots. There's a lot of Jasper associated with this layer and the coolest thing I've found from it was where something crazy happened to make the hematite run through the Jasper and it has the look of snake skin. I only got about 15 to 20 pounds of it altogether. I want to see what it would look like cabbed out. I'm sure that there's more in the area. I've just been grabbing it as it's washed out over a few trips. I'm glad that I came across your channel. It's really informative and cool to see your finds from Carolina. Take care.

That is awesome!! It pays to walk the shoreline when you have the opportunity. That material sounds awesome. I love the South Eastern USA minerals. Snake skin Hematite Jasper sounds like a wonderful find . Thanks for the comment and good luck on your adventures.

Supposed to be Limonite Cubes on Lake Chatuge, but I have never found them. Cool Mica! Btw, it’s Boytroidal!

Thanks for posting. It has been a long winter. My sister and I went to Propst farm after watching your video on it. Had a great time and found about a dozen crystals. Looking forward to your spring and summer videos.

Great video! I just read about people doing that at Lake Chanute and have been meaning to try that myself.

That's very close to the shoreline we were at. The locals get the first pickings when the lake drops. It was still alot of fun.
