Was planning a gold prospecting/rock hounding trip to North Carolina, especially to look for the rare North Carolina diamonds in a few months. Had no clue it was still so bad there. Growing up in Florida and seeing the end result of multiple cat 4s, it is surprising to think how long even basic recovery is taking. Then you realize that Florida is so used to devastating storms that we have infrastructure in place to deal with the devastation quickly. Plus, while we had storm surges, we didn't have mud slides. Now that I live in Tennessee, North Carolina has become my rock hounding mecca. Looks like I will need to make different plans. I feel for the people there, you don't normally expect that level of devastation from storms there, and the state was about as prepared for that as Florida is prepared for week long blizzards. Rough...

Serious though I wonder why they didn't just use water to cut the colio super deep bore hole it'd probably cost a little more but after a certain depth most likely you wouldn't need to pump the water in just vacuum it and muck out... 😂guess that's why government never gave me millions to dig a hole, but if any government out there would like to I'm down to dig.....

Over in roan mtn st park there was a little foot crossing bridge the army corps of engineers built after the flood of 98 I specifically remembered the head engineer saying no flood would ever destroy it again because they used 24 in I beams and pinned it to the rocks with 2 in stainless steel pins , the 2 I beams are wrapped around a tree about 100 yards below former bridges location 😂 the power of water SMH 😮 is arguably the most powerful thing upon the earth I mean they use it to cut the hardest granites ,diorite s , even steel at high enough pressure it will cut diamonds heck I wouldn't be surprised if it wouldn't cut through that weird gunk that somehow appears under the bottom of veggie bin every couple of months ( college students you know what I'm talking about about) most likely a conglomerate of shrimp sauce n spilled beers 😅 lmao

Thank you for the thoughtful video! It is winter now and I'm working on cleaning some "pegmatite soup" specimens. Years ago I got a piece from Brazil that is a botryoidal blue agate with well formed quartz crystals on top. The crystals have a lot of a white feldspar on them. I've considered using muriatic acid. I'm going to soak the specimen in a low percentage solution for a while and see where it goes. I've subscribed- Thanks!

The Toe River flows into the Nolichucky River, which also had catastrophic flooding. Erwin, Tennessee was heavily flooded by the Nolichucky River.

June 13 1998....I was set up and arrested by burnville police ..and Christel d ledford aka Crissy Allen.....y name is Andrew Odell they prosecuted me on June 1 1995 juvenile and December 4 1998 fake classified juvenile illegal unlawful criminal history and recordanafactured by Washington co tn da office and Sullivan county ...I need nc sbi to look into this as I will be filing ucs 1983 against n.c. and this county as well as tn ....for complete exoneration the 1926 expi dent 8 sighed produced several flas arrests and hold they used to domestically terrorize me ....that place knew what was going on and the record was falsified. .. and went along with Tennessee.....since that date .y life has been forever changed ....costing me probably million of dollars and will definitely cost them as they still ongers after the expundgment .....
