Totally 1,0001% agree with you.
Your Mom sounds like she likes the same type of music my Dad did 😄
He used to wake us up for school blasting Motown at the highest possible decibel.
"My Girl" by The Temptations and "Brown- Eyed Girl" by Van Morrison were the two songs he sang to me.
My Dad had a "special song" or two for all of his girls. Miss & love him always 🙏💖💙
As for love songs from this time/ era: Oh, yes! I LOVE love songs.
Especially from the 1950's & 1960's.
Absolutely agree, too, that is not to say that there isn't good music nowadays or that there aren't talented artists nowadays.
All art is subjective and music is art so you know it just really boils down to personal preference/ taste.
Jackie Wilson was known as "Mr. Excitement" for a reason, just FYI!
