    Hey Adam, great video! I didn't know you had all that going on outside your 220. I really liked the Trout and the Buccos. Thanks for sharing

    Nice looking set up ! Having been breeding for a few years now I actually feel like African cichlids are pretty easy. The biggest problem I have is getting rid of them locally as I don't really prefer shipping. I have so many Tropheus and Petrochromis right now that I practically have to give them away. Good luck with your breeding facility. :)

    Hello Adam! Help determine the population, my aquarium is 700 liters, and I want to put there 5 species of predators: Aristochromis,
    Buccochromis,
    Champsochromis,
    Dimidiochromis,
    Leopard venustus. I think to take 7 pieces of malcolm and when painted will leave some males ... how do you think it will go?

  • @JadrenAquatics

    Great setup I'm curious what type of air pump are you using? New sub

    • @adamc7918
      @adamc7918  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Jadren Aquatics thank you jarden I appreciate it. it's nothing fancy just a fluval air pump with 2 lines from each pump. I think it's called a Q1 or Q2 model. I have a couple in this setup

    do you think you can do a video on you quarantine tank and a detention tank for bad behavior? What kind of products you may be using in them? thanks for the knowledge!

    • @adamc7918
      @adamc7918  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      jared martin hi jared. honestly it's not much to see. just a 20 gallon tank. I keep them in there for a week or 2 until I'm sure they are healthy and have normal looking waste. I don't really use any products unless it is for an injured fish in which case I use aquarium salt. if it's a bloat issue I use Epsom salt

    Nice! It's nice that you have a show tank and breeding tanks. Would like some advice. I have a pair of Fossochromis Rostratus which I'm going to put in a 125 I just got. What haps would you recommend for a mellow tank that would play nice with the fosso's? I like buccochromis noto, buccochromis Rhodesi yellow but are afraid they might be to aggressive. Thanks.

    • @adamc7918
      @adamc7918  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +JW Collect really with any peacock or hap it can be a toss up. even rostratus can be aggressive. some that tend to be a little more calm are exochochromis anagenys, chilotilapia rhoadesii, Malawi trout aren't usually too aggressive.

    Hi, how many 12" haps would you recommend in a 125. I have two fx-6's and do water changes every week. Do you think 10 is ok? Thanks

    • @adamc7918
      @adamc7918  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +JW Collect hi JW. a 125 is probably the minimum I would keep large haps. the problem generally won't be your water quality. sounds like you have plenty of filtration, the challenge will be when they all start getting large they won't have a lot of room to get away from eachother if an aggression issue starts, so the aggression can last longer and be worse. I'm not saying it will happen but it could. for a 125 I would say 8 to 10 would be your best bet

    How do you keep your ph up in the fry tanks without substrate? And that male at the end is a rhoadesii not a noto?

    • @adamc7918
      @adamc7918  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +SuckaJombie I don't really try to keep it up. my water is naturally higher luckily l. yes at the end that is a group of buccochromis rhoadesii yellow

    • @pasha_kasha
      @pasha_kasha 7 ปีที่แล้ว
