She wrote this song because she was tempted a couple times to do this herself in the late 90s / very early 2000s. Her state of mind was impacted by a combination of love breakups, professional betrayals and health issues. Lara said in an interview that one day she was leaving Hotel Costes, a famous trendy restaurant & night club place in Paris back then, with this clear suicide idea in mind, when Françoise Hardy, a french singing legend from the 60s/70s, that just died 2 days ago, walked to Lara, put her hand on her shoulder and said "Do you have 5mn? I need to talk to you" We don’t have details about n their 5mn conversation but Lara said it completely changed her trajectory and saved her life. Françoise Hardy was a mystical and sensitive person and maybe had perceived things crossing Lara in the corridor. She was one of Lara’s influences but didn’t know Lara that much. R.I.P. Françoise and thanks for Lara among other things. An english version, with different lyrics, has been created from Parce que tu pars and is titled Don’t Go Away.
