I do hope this video entertains and evokes old fond memories of the European Railway Scene of the era.
On route to Hungary I stopped off at the busy location of Olten, midway between Basel and Zurich in Switzerland. Variants of traction representing the 3 main companies of the Swiss Federal Railways. SBB Schweizerische Bundesbahnen CFF Chemins de fer fédéraux suisses and FFS Ferrovie federali svizzere . The station proved very busy with both freight traffic and passenger with Re4/4, Ae 6/6,Re6/6, Ea3/3 and Re460 class types. Some of the locomotives looked pretty aged, but as typical of the country worked clockwork fashion with precision.

Excellent. Brings back memories -spent many an hour just watching the proceedings. Muttenz [Basel] was another favourite as was Spiez for the BLS

A wonderful video,olten,done often countless times,you did a parting away shot of re10/10,on freight[re4/4,re6/6 combo),notable no double deck stock in use think around 1997,that slowly rolled out,predominantly cl 460's on them,travelled zurich airport-luzern often, the db ICE 401 576/076,allocated number cleared for working in 🇨🇭, was on ICE 73"Thunersee",ex 06:51 am Berlin-Interlaken ost(17:19pm),according to notes I observed at freiburg(DE)platform timetables),11640 Munchenstein",definitely on EC90 "Vauban",ex 10:25am Milano Centrale-Brussels midi(22:39pm),sbb loco came at domodossola(italy),work through to basel sbb,sncf 15000,takes over to Luxembourg Luxembourg 🇱🇺, sncb loco onwards,very intense place for freight,import ant junction, lines to berne,zurich,luzern,basel,luasanne diverge here also chur in thr graubunden region southeast Switzerland 🇨🇭, more please..
