We have seen tons of weird mario enemies throughout the series in games like super mario galaxy, super mario sunshine, super mario 3d world, super mario 3d land and who knows what super mario odyssey can bring to the table. But which ones are truly the weirdest, since some really freak me out or make me question nintendo.

@@emojilegend7617 she identifies as a girl! She's amab (assigned male at birth), but feels more comfortable using she/her pronouns and presenting as a girl. Basically the old manual was written like that as an attempt as a joke... it's sort of messed up but people used to make fun of trans people and act like it was somehow funny that someone is queer

Well, Birdo has always been a weird case in the Mario universe, but this is how Japan and America sees it. The original Japanese game of Doki-Doki Panic sees Birdo, in its entirely of the game, as a "he." After the success of Doki-Doki Panic of a festival done in Japan, when Nintendo was chosen to commission the game, they were free to use the game as they pleased. After the success of Super Mario Bros 2 (Japan), known in the world as, The Lost Levels, they wanted to ship the game overseas, but due to the "difficulty" of the sequel, and having to bring the video game industry after the Crash of '83 back from the dead, they kinda want Nintendo to keep a fresh face, so Nintendo of America deny the game as a whole, so Nintendo of Japan needs a plan. With Doki-Doki Panic having to be already out, at the time, they just replace the original characters in favor of Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad. When the game was being localized, they notice that Birdo has a more "feminine" charm around him, and due to the United States having "Christian Morals," they changed Birdo to "she" to avoid controversial issues with families believing it's okay to be transgender, which back in the 80s, was deem a "sin." Though Dr. Wily, I would like to see an evolution video on Birdo when you got the chance to do so.

Well Birdo are species so i guess there are different Birdos in each game.
Except for one, that i forgot her name that was confirmed a female, which is the one that appears in Super Mario Bros 2 and has a female voice in the remake and even helps you get across in one level.
Its kind of a hidden development with a character that goes from a villain to kind of an ally, since if you kill her you wont be able to get through the level

Those crates do serve a purpose. They're used to get on things easier in the first game and same thing for the DS version just not when you have Luigi.
Do the evolution of Bowser. He is one of the main characters and should've been already done before the non-relevant enemies.

1. Its was all typos and confusion and birdo was always meant to be a girl.
2. Birdo is actually transgender and has become a woman.
3. Some of the manuals are referring to birdo as a species or another male birdo. While the mainstream birdo is female.
Max Castillon Actually, Birdo was a male in the game SMB2 was originally from but since Birdo has a feminine look and during the 80s where USA has some "Christrian morales" they didn't want to cause controversaries so they made her a female.

Oh I know this old but birdo is an okama__(crossdresser) I mean it really wasn't hard to figure especially during birdo commercial with a masculine voice surprisingly there voice actor during that commercial is a okama. Birdo was male, now Nintendo changed it to female.

Luigi was the only character that found out what was behind Shy guy's mask. In Mario Tennis, Shy guy came to Luigi but accidently falls and drops his mask he tried to find it and thats when Luigi looked at his face in shocked ....

Yeah, I never played Link's awakening. However there was a similar enemy to the shy guy, in Zelda: A Link to the past. They were called Goriya, with mask like faces, with disturbing dark shot eyes. They use to terrify/ annoy me with the movement mimicry, and shooting at you when they face you.

I always thought the Blargg in SMW was based on a hippo. Sure likes like one in that game. They have the rhino Reznor boss, and the Dino Rhinos with the tiny Dino-Torch enemies. Only makes sense for Blargg to be based on a hippopotamus.

When me and my brother were little we didn't know what shy guys were, so when we saw them in Mario kart we just called them 'Poos' (I can't remember why, probably just because we were kids) and I still can't help referring to them as Poos to this day

Shy Guys can drive without thumbs(Mario kart ds - current mario kart) and use straws as weapons (in Paper Mario: Color Splash) now. That's phenomenal
