    I have enjoyed Jason’s videos in the past and would really like to see him build something substantial from scratch rather than configuring a pre-made asset.

      think jason's channel philosophy is sticking to beginner friendly cause his course is an advertisement everywhere on this channel. i'm not sure why i think this but i'm certain he wouldn't bother wasting time doing this simply due to the fact his intentions would be to funnel newbies towards his courses where his primary focus has always been. so yeah, it's ashame he is only modding and writing it off as something he can do from scratch, kind of like a bait so when newbies see hes "capable" of doing these things it makes his courses more appealing.
      just my opinion.

      I don't think this good, i cannot go on further because your video is not hD at all for those in the hierarchy, inspector window are not able to read all, we do not understand the process because of this. Not to mention about learning, your effort is renderingless. I hate to see it again and again. Life is quality first rather making something no quality at all. Hard to read (illegible) is not allowed for every body basics. Please note that your explanation in voice is not enough as for presenting a teaching process.

      @@edw1958 The video is HD, and everything is readable. The problem is the video quality you have selected (probably auto selected based on a slow internet speed).

    Thanks for sharing this. I was also stuck between those two kit choices. I think you went with a great one, and you (or I,) can always add the other one as well and take the features we want, or make them ourselves. The one you chose is a great choice, because you do not start from scratch, and the assets it has with it from the start are helpful. Thanks again for the video! Saving it for several rewatches.

    I mostly used this asset because it had a lockstep implementation. Saves quite a lot of time from implementing it yourself.

    • @Ne0mega
      @Ne0mega 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't remember it having lockstep. But yeah, the one thing I dread is implementing lockstep, yet it is essential. AS far as I understand it, to make lockstep work properly, all shared data has to be integers, or you get floating point errors leading to out of sync errors between chipsets, in particular Apple and AMD/Intels.
      I bought it, set it up, and realized, it is not going to work for me.
      I need serialization, and I need to generate my own maps (which I think you can plug in, but i dont remember. ) What I do remember, is the song used in the trailer on the Asset store. Ha ha.

    I like Jason's videos but the title in this is a bit misleading. The RTS mechanics were not built, they were bought, and for the next 40 minutes it is basically just painting the terrain. I feel like I have wasted my time watching this xD The only thing that it did was to basically help me decide on buying the asset after figuring out how complex an actual RTS is and after seeing how well developed the asset seems considering it has an active Discord Server and an online Documentation as well.

      It is HD (1080p) for me. Keep in mind that sometimes TH-cam takes a long time to encode the video at the higher resolutions. It has nothing to do with the uploader, and there is nothing they can do about it, especially for smaller TH-camrs.
