@@cw2athanks brother 😊 I used it successfully in 2020.. bagged a decent eight point! Complete pass through lung shot.. the buck made it thirty yards and fell over!
@@blackie1of4 nice to here few people iv talk ro said no pass through or barely low blood trail through vital say neck shot only gun or make hit them watch go down.
@@jamespugh I've heard that too! I've used the federal 180 grain loads and my brothers nephew also used them. Both complete pass through.. mine was a decent eight point and his was a huge ten point. The blood trails were amazing.. like a bucket pouring blood! Now.. I believe that the 150 grain loads are designed to break apart and not exit! So that makes sense if you choose those! I certainly would not!
Wow. That is a really nice looking rifle. The colour of the stock you chose goes really nice with the stainless. Do you know which model Boyd's stock that is?
@@you_cant_be_seriousThank you I believe it is the classic.. which is one of the few that offer laser checkering deer pattern. Heritage is the other.. I believe! Just make sure you choose pillar bedding.. and a metal trigger guard! Thanks for commenting and stopping by.. much appreciated ☺️
@@georgehayduke6717 I've had it back there.. it works a little better! My intention is to add quick release rings and bases and a low power variable.. so it's on the barrel! Also.. with it moved to the receiver.. I need a taller front sight than the one here. It is .2 inches too low! Now.. if I decide to not add the scope.. I'll move it back and get a taller front sight! Hopefully that makes sense :) Thanks for stopping by and commenting 🙂 Much appreciated brother
@@markfletcher4964 yes.. you could install them easily by yourself with a little time a level and JB WELD. I initially did it that way.. and once I figured exactly how I wanted them.. I had a gunsmith drill and tap four holes. Which most gunsmiths can do for $15 a hole! Works great and I'll eventually get quick release rings and bases for it.. along with a low power variable scope. Thanks for stopping by and commenting ☺️ Appreciate it brother
@@markfletcher4964 also.. that peep sight will attach to the receiver of most center fire rifles if you are not planning on using a scope. The dimensions of the holes are .860 Savage rifles.. Ruger American are two that I know work! Then you only need front sight holes drilled and tapped!
@@blackie1of4 Thank you for replying, I just saw your response. I really like the sights, especially for the dense woods I hunt here in Ohio. Thanks and God Bless and Merry Christmas
@@markfletcher4964 you're welcome brother and you have a merry Christmas too! Also.. that's the reason I put those on there.. if you're hunting close.. thick stuff.. still hunting.. open sights are the quickest to get on target! Almost without thinking! I still may move it back to the receiver.. but I'll also need a taller front sight.. cause the current one is low by .2 inches!

Love the sights! Could the average Joe install those or is a gunsmith needed?
