Anything outdoors..
Hunting fishing shooting hiking camping swimming floating are some of my favorite activities!
I've always enjoyed the outdoors and grew up in the era that you were expected to be outside! I have three brothers all one year apart.. which made life enjoyable ❤️
My brothers and I hunted fished camped played together.. we all spent numerous days afield with our father grandfather uncle's cousins and friends! Which has made us better parents!
Teaching our children and grandchildren to enjoy the outdoors.. and to appreciate all that it has to offer.
God bless America and those who are doing good everyday.. regardless of who's looking 🙏

I have a Tikka T-3 with an E.R. Shaw barrel in 6.5x 284 Norma, it is the most accurate rifle I have ever owned! I'm 75 years old, I have owned a lot of rifles.
@@ralphgreenjr.2466 very nice set-up! The 6.5x284 Norma sounds like a great cartridge to take advantage of Tikka's action and the E.R. Shaw barrel! Hope you had a Merry Christmas.. and are blessed in the coming New Year! Thanks for stopping by and commenting.. much appreciated brother 🙏
I rebarreled a Mk X single shot to 35W. What a pain trying to get it to feed n function. Was a fun project but darn, for what I payed for the barrel, could have had a turnkey Scout.
@@js7127 sounds like a fun project.. and I'm sure that you enjoyed working on it for the most part! These rifles are relatively inexpensive and a little bit on the heavy side.. but for what they are.. I'd say they're certainly worth the investment! Of course.. mine took about thirty rounds down the barrel to sort itself out! I do love that they're able to be taken down.. there's a few that even come with a small bag to pack them up in for transport and storage. I'm thinking about that option in either the 243 Winchester or the 350 legend :) Thanks for stopping by and commenting.. much appreciated brother 🙏
Where'd you get the bolt handle assembly?
@@deanflewelling8702 I ordered it from Glade's Tactical Pretty decent price
@blackie1of4 thanks I'll check them out I have a Savage axis 350 Legend as well love the gun not a fan of the small bolt handle it came with
@@deanflewelling8702 I definitely can agree with you.. plus the factory handle glides along the side of your rifle scope.. scratching it in the process! The Glade's Tactical knob will solve that issue as well 😀 Thanks for stopping by and commenting.. much appreciated brother 🙏
@blackie1of4 no problem gave you a follow Merry Christmas to you and yours
@@deanflewelling8702 Thank you.. and Merry Christmas to you too brother 🙏 God bless 🙏
Let that timber out and get that ridiculous looking cover off it! Tikka beautiful rifle and 7-08 great cartridge, I’ve killed lots of game with it .
The 7mm-08 Remington is my favorite cartridge for hunting here in Pennsylvania! I've used a few with success.. The 303 British The 30-06 Springfield The 7mm-08 Remington The 350 Remington Mag The 358 Winchester and the 350 Legend The deer never knew the difference between them though 😜 Thanks for stopping by and commenting.. much appreciated brother! God bless 🙏
I think the peep should be back by the he bolt
@@georgehayduke6717 I've had it back there.. it works a little better! My intention is to add quick release rings and bases and a low power variable.. so it's on the barrel! Also.. with it moved to the receiver.. I need a taller front sight than the one here. It is .2 inches too low! Now.. if I decide to not add the scope.. I'll move it back and get a taller front sight! Hopefully that makes sense :) Thanks for stopping by and commenting 🙂 Much appreciated brother
Nice setup and great cartridge choice. Especially if you handload! With the advancements in straight wall cartridges over the last few years creating a better ability to headspace on the neck of high pressure rounds, I am hoping we see the other whelen cartidges .375 and .400 . For a very long time the .35 was considered as big as could be done with reliable head spacing with the .30-06 case (and .308 win case) . 9.3 x62 mauser has just enough extra diameter (0.04") to step up from .358 to .366 caliber. But with the .450 bushmaster,.50 Beowulf, .350 and .400 legend , we have learned how to work with that sort of design with higher than pistol pressures. Revolver rounds like .460 amd .500 S&W headspace on their rims . So does the .360 buck hammer. So they don't count here. The .35 whelen deserves more popularity IMHO. It's a great choice for deer to big bear .
@@coreymerrill3257 thank you.. I appreciate your knowledge and insight! I always wanted a 35 Whelen.. just waited until I was a reloader! Which I started this past January due to loving my 358 Winchester. Thanks for subscribing and commenting.. much appreciated brother 🙏 God bless ❤️
Mind me asking what all ad ons you have for this stock?
@@drowsyguyjake No problem.. I chose the high gloss finish and the deer pattern checkering. I should have added pillar bedding as well! I also ordered a stainless steel trigger guard and stainless steel action screws. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.. much appreciated brother 🙏

I just shot mine today and the grouping has me worried!
@@ryanholliman5923 it took mine at least 30 rounds down the barrel and a good cleaning before I was happy 😊 That first trip shooting three different brands of factory ammunition had me frustrated.. two were right under two inches at 100 yards.. Hornady Superformance was trash! I removed the muzzle break as well after the first trip.. it was so loud it had me anticipating the BANG! Hopefully yours is the same.. I do know some rifles take 60 rounds to clear out any burrs or tool marks from the manufacturer! Some!!! Thanks for stopping by and commenting.. much appreciated brother 🙏 Good bless and stay positive.. I'm certain it will work itself out ❤️ Keep me posted

@ryanholliman5923 you're welcome brother.. Try it without the muzzle break.. that could be the issue as well God bless 🙏

Always looked forward to taking you there one day .. but I can't now! It's closed to all public 😢
Definitely a Sad Day. I was Blessed to see and get a Video and Picture of a nice Buck yesterday while walking down that hollow to pull out my Ladder Stand. A true Blessing, I felt I was being watched and looked down and there he was. And for that Buck to just stand there and watch me was Amazing.
@@johnblackie314 pap probably sent him to you.. or dad .. maybe even Bobby ❤️
My brothers and I have been blessed with a beautiful spot to hunt! We were born into a hunting family and we all got together every single season to hunt the hollow ❤ Our grandfather.. our father.. many of our uncles.. our cousins.. and friends hunted here every year.. however.. it's now posted 😢 Gone are those days of sitting on stand.. talking to my dad.. my grandfather.. and my childhood best friend.. You'll still live on.. in our hearts mind and soul.. as we regroup and start a new tradition.. which certainly will not be the same 😢 I am still in disbelief.. that this land has been POSTED 😮 Say it ain't so ... Meanwhile.. we are in a battle trying to hang onto our heritage of hunting across the great state of Pennsylvania. Land is constantly being taken.. we however are fortunate that the Pennsylvania Game Commission does invest into purchasing land to secure the future of our heritage ❤ God bless 🙏
Love the sights! Could the average Joe install those or is a gunsmith needed?
@@markfletcher4964 yes.. you could install them easily by yourself with a little time a level and JB WELD. I initially did it that way.. and once I figured exactly how I wanted them.. I had a gunsmith drill and tap four holes. Which most gunsmiths can do for $15 a hole! Works great and I'll eventually get quick release rings and bases for it.. along with a low power variable scope. Thanks for stopping by and commenting ☺️ Appreciate it brother
@@markfletcher4964 also.. that peep sight will attach to the receiver of most center fire rifles if you are not planning on using a scope. The dimensions of the holes are .860 Savage rifles.. Ruger American are two that I know work! Then you only need front sight holes drilled and tapped!
@@blackie1of4 Thank you for replying, I just saw your response. I really like the sights, especially for the dense woods I hunt here in Ohio. Thanks and God Bless and Merry Christmas
@@markfletcher4964 you're welcome brother and you have a merry Christmas too! Also.. that's the reason I put those on there.. if you're hunting close.. thick stuff.. still hunting.. open sights are the quickest to get on target! Almost without thinking! I still may move it back to the receiver.. but I'll also need a taller front sight.. cause the current one is low by .2 inches!
Did you see an accuracy improvment with the new stock?
Not at first.. I screwed up and didn't order the pillar bedding! My first group was a half inch at 100 yards.. then it would open up to one inch at 100 yards. I had issues removing the bolt.. issues with the magazine feeding.. and consistent groups.. sadly! So.. off to a gunsmith she went! He pillar bedded it as well as bedded the entire action. I went to the range.. and the magazine didn't feed properly!!! So.. I reached out to Savage Arms and told them about the magazine.. and they sent me an updated 350 Legend magazine. Now.. she shoots as good as the factory stock! Looks better than the factory stock! I'm happy it's finally done! With the exception of quick release rings and bases for it and a low power variable scope :) Anyways.. I tell everyone that inquires to get it pillar bedded from Boyds.. well worth it! Thanks for stopping by and commenting ☺️ I truly appreciate it!
Those were T-38s.
@@NewmanAttack thanks for letting me know.. I definitely am no expert on jets and planes.. but I absolutely love the roar of their engines as they fly overhead! Also.. thanks for stopping by brother.. appreciate it 😊
Those hand loads are too much 😮 I'm using a full house load of H110 pushing Hornady FTX 158 grain loads! This pistol still prefers Federal Fusion and PMC Bronze 158 grains. Which are both pretty darn accurate out to 25 yards ❤

Shot a .427” group with my 7600 pump 35 whelen the other day. My group was smaller than yours all touching in one o long hole. 🤔 ....I see your micrometer isnt all the way to the top of your group which explains why. Its closer to a half inch group. Great shooting.
Measurements are outside diameter minus the caliber.. which is the best way to measure them.. in my opinion. Thank you for stopping by and commenting ☺️
@@blackie1of4 my calipers must be off because my group is smaller...not much though
@tripplebeards3427 just depends on how you measure it.. I'll take anything under an inch at 100 yards! Even 1.358 inches is technically sub moa for the 35 calibers ❤️

Thank you so much for putting a list of what is barebones needed. There are so many videos that go on and on. Kits that sell you stuff you might not need.
