Anything outdoors..
Hunting fishing shooting hiking camping swimming floating are some of my favorite activities!
I've always enjoyed the outdoors and grew up in the era that you were expected to be outside! I have three brothers all one year apart.. which made life enjoyable ❤️
My brothers and I hunted fished camped played together.. we all spent numerous days afield with our father grandfather uncle's cousins and friends! Which has made us better parents!
Teaching our children and grandchildren to enjoy the outdoors.. and to appreciate all that it has to offer.
God bless 🙏

@@johnblackie314 thanks Johnny most definitely.. safety is and ALWAYS will be number one!
Fun stuff!! ❤❤
@@cw2a thanks brother
Oh yeah
@@Airlinesavation great times
... I have the "SCOUT" non-takedown version which you can takedown anyway by removing the butt stock (takes about 2 minutes with the right sized Allen wrench) without disturbing the stock:barrel fit and that makes for more consistent accuracy between takedowns and re-assemblies
Pappy what is your favorite airplane
I love the military jets and cargo planes.. but I love helicopters more! Boeing 747 is popping in my mind though
Are the grid lines of your target an inch apart? I'm looking at one on these rifles now but I'm a little turned off by what Ruger has done to the muzzle to allow for the suppressor. I'm trying to figure out if I can learn to live with the change they made, or if I should be looking for one of the older ones.
Yeah.. they're one inch grids! I also don't like the threaded barrel.. however.. I can live with it 😉 I always wanted one.. so when they hit the shelves this year at the local gun shop.. I picked it up!
Looks good 👍
Thanks brother
Are those for comfort?
It's a cover that protects the stock from getting scratched up! Plus adds camouflage :)
👍
Nice👍
Thanks for the comment.. much appreciated brother
Mine only holds 9 😢 rounds
Nine in the magazine.. one in the chamber :) The magazine is a nine round magazine.. good catch 🙂
PMC should ground check pretty good!
Definitely performed perfectly
I was actually shocked at how little those Barnes bullets expanded! I have no doubt that the PMC Bronze will work wonderfully on whitetails. I'd only take broadside heart and lung shots though!
🇺🇸🙏❤️🩹🙏🇺🇸
It’s tiny!!
I wish 🙏 We should stop by and see if Tiny and Shelley will come over when we call them!!! I think they would if we're close to where they are.. maybe sit in one spot for ten minutes while calling. Then move a little further.. and repeat! Never know
👍
Nice shot
Thanks buddy.. 😁
Really nice setup pappy
That’s a cool gun pappy
Can't wait to see you and take you to the range 💖

Nice pair
Thanks brother
Not bad!!
Thanks brother
Fun rifle!
Definitely is fun to shoot :) I had to do a little bit of work on it.. but nothing to hard. First thing.. free float the barrel! Dremel tool and wooden dowel with sandpaper did the trick. Then I order a trigger spring and bolt shims.. definitely made it shoot better. Trigger is lighter.. but gritty! Anyways.. thank you brother.. I appreciate you stopping by :)
@@blackie1of4 I changed the trigger in in one of mine. (77/22m) Made big difference. Just wish it was more accurate.
@@cw2a you should try the bolt shims.. I noticed that by adding 2/1000th in shims.. the groups were cut in half! I did my changes in steps.. 1st trip.. factory stock 2nd trip.. free floated the barrel and added a new spring ( came with the bolt shims ) 3rd trip.. I added the shims to the bolt The groups shrunk each time.. and actually grouped.. instead of a flyer in every group of three
@@cw2a mcarbo.com is where I ordered them :)

Thanks for stopping by.. I got my payback.. a black bear decided to get into my trash last night.. so I was cleaning up the mess this morning! Thankfully our trash goes Thursday morning.. so it wasn't too much!

I grew up in Blair county Pennsylvania.. and I would come across painted turtles and garter snakes quite often. Live in Huntingdon county nowadays.. and I usually see box turtles and black rat snakes quite often here. Ever since I was six.. I'd look for reptiles and Amphibians.. always dragging something home.. only to hear my mother saying.. TAKE IT BACK TO WHERE YOU FOUND IT 😮
I’ve always carried a 110. Went to a 110 auto a few years back and really like it
The 110 is definitely a classic that's hard to beat! The 55 excels as a pocket knife.. and was purchased for my grandson. He'll be turning 13 next month :)
Is that scope 1.5x4.5x20 (1'' tube)?
Yes it is.. it's a Bushnell Sport View Very nice scope for the price if you find one! Crystal clear holds a zero and I've used it on several firearms at the range. From zero to 200 yards :)
I actually have Bushnell scopes on all my firearms! The vintage Bushnell scopes are better than the newer affordable options! Thanks for stopping by brother
@@blackie1of4 I like, and have a couple of old Bushnell scopes. 1 of them is a 2.5x20, fixed power, it's on one of my Ruger 10/22's. The glass is very clear. Really neat scope, and light too. I'm not into weight. I like to keep my firearms light. I found that scope at a gun shop, in a 5 gal. bucket of used scopes, for $5.00 out the door.
@@dalesmyth7398 I am the same way.. my hunting is done inside 200 yards.. often inside 75 yards. Most of my scopes are low power variables. My favorite is the Bushnell Prime 1x4x32! I have an elite that's 1x4x24.. but the prime is definitely better! The scope in this video was picked up used.. in the local gun shop for $29.00 :)
@@blackie1of4 Yep, most of my shots are under 75 yds, it's real brushy here. I have taken shots at 5 yards, had a buck to walk out from a cedar bush. I bought a Bushnell Trophy XLT 1-4-24mm with the 5.56 reticle for one of my AR's. I don't care for it, it's heavy for one thing. The glass is clear tho. It's just not the scope I thought I wanted, that's just me. I'd prefer a 1'' tube, lots lighter. I hate humping weight around. You got a deal on that one in the video. If you ever decide to sell that scope, let me know!!! If you're like me, you won't, but thought I'd let you know.
Good stuff man! I did not get notice of this video! I got James Community post! I just unsubbed and re subed. Hope that fixes it.
Thanks brother.. appreciate it ❤️ TH-cam is crazy.. there's certain channels that I've subscribed to and find out I'm unsubscribed
@@blackie1of4 yup. I was looking for something from ya. Had not herd much from ya!!
@@cw2a gets a little crazy at the Blackies.. having 14 grandkids.. raising 2.. I find a little time here and there! Had six here yesterday
Super nice looking Rifle . I fired my CVA Scout Rifle in 35 Whelen yesterday. 5/4/24. I left the muzzle break on it's loud . I was using Hornady Super performance ammo 200 grain . I plan on hunting in the Black Hills of South Dakota if I get a tag.
Thanks brother.. it definitely is too loud with the muzzle break! If I'm being honest.. the recoil seems the same with or without! Mines definitely staying off! They're nice rifles.. especially for the money! Hopefully you draw a tag and get to break your 35 Whelen in.. that would be awesome! Thanks for the comment and sharing your story.. much appreciated!
@@blackie1of4 I have a Banish 46 but I will have to get the metric adapter from Silencer Central. I'm going to Sioux Falls, SD next week .
Federal did the best
These groups were fired from four different brands of factory ammo. PMC Bronze 158 grains Underwood 158 grains Federal Premium Barnes XPB 140 grains Buffalo Bore 158 grains Today.. the Federal Premium grouped the best 😊
I’m a savage 99 guy. Have a few and had a gunsmith re chamber a few. 7-08 , 22-250 and 358
Very cool rifle. Dont see them to munch anymore . That barns did well.
Thanks brother They're making a bunch now with threaded barrels The factory ammo was Federal Premium with 140 grain Barnes bullets. Definitely preferred those
@@blackie1of4 have to keep a look out
Wow
Did you guys get to watch it?
No the teacher didn’t let use
@@Airlinesavation that stinks All the schools got an early dismissal here at 11am.. cause of it! They didn't want them on the buses while people were paying attention to the sky instead of the road
I got one of them
How are you liking it ? I like mine without the muzzle break.. I didn't notice a recoil difference.. but it's much quieter :)
Wish they'd bring the apex back
That would make sense.. I don't know what the differences are regarding other break down calibers.. but it can't be much! I asked another person the same thing.. cause he had two of the break down CVA Scouts
Good job pappy
Thanks buddy 🙂
Yes cowboys pappy
Awesome 🇺🇲 job buddy. They did Awesome. Both would do job on whitetail or blake bear here
Definitely two excellent loads for deer/black bear! I'm going to reload some 200 grain loads and go from there! I used Hornady Super Formance in the test as well... should have included them.. but man did they fall apart! Jacket core separation and fragmented!
Very nice man 🇺🇸💪🙏
