I tried one of your other tutorials yesterday and the results were great so i gave this one a shot too and holy crap! Combining the 2 methods I have turned some horrible oversized jeans in to the best fitting jeans i have ever owned and with only one day of sewing experience. Iv never followed tutorials that are this easy and work out this well before. You are a true legend! Now for the rest of my wardrobe...👍

I bought jeans when I was 78 kg (Thanks to my mom who fed me like I will never get food again )and now I am 69 kg again and I am crying now. Those jeans got lose only from my waist line and everything is perfect. They are so comfortable and full stretchable and bit too costly 😭😭.

I did it! It worked great! I had the same jeans and went from a 34 to a 32. I just followed the same lines
Stylish D did. I watched some other TH-camrs take apart the waistband, too much for me. I can see how that would be a much better finish but this way is great for these handmedown jeans. Thanks Stylish D!

You know whats funny SD I was avoiding my jeans because I didnt want to take out the flat felt seam down the center back of the pants and this just helped me with that problem JUST WHEN I NEEDED THE HELP LOL

Thank you for this informative video. It makes me curious. To get a better fit below the waist (so it doesn't bubble out), how about removing the stitching of the pockets (enough to fold them back) and make a longer taper to the bottom of the pockets and resewing the pockets back. In your opinion, would that make the butt too tight?
Ehh I'd say yes, that might make the butt a bit too tight
I followed your instructions and I was able to adjust my waist line by taking out a couple of inches on my pants. They fit so much better. Awesome video

Yeah it can be tricky, thats why I kept my mistake in here so people are prepared for it.

Tried a saddle stitch with threadwax string. Melted the wax on the string and the finish looks awesome.
I did this cuz i dont have a sweing maching, and I can have perfect taper angles. Takes a lot longer though.

Live your tutorials! Easy to understand and follow. And fun! Question : how do you taper mens winter pants. ? The ones that are lined with flannel. It looks like the lining is tacked at the crotch and sewn into the pockets . So it can’t be removed but can pull lining up to get to seams on the jeans. Fabric is canvas. Thanks
Do you think you could make a video on making clothes bigger in some areas? I've got pretty skinny legs, but a wider waist, so its really tough to find clothes that fit well

I used your method to fix my daughters jeans, we were having this issue so badly with any pants/shorts/sweatpants. The waist is always huge on her, and the elastics that come on kid size jeans wasn’t enough to keep them on without scrunching the jeans and tucking at her skin because how tight they needed to be to not fall off her tall and slim frame, it was my first time sewing actual clothes or tailoring them ever, and they came out perfect! And I mean perfect!!! Thank you so much!!!! I’m going to watch all your videos and continue to tailor our clothes, you make it so simple to follow and doable!! What about altering the seat area of jeans? heard thats pretty hard. Want it to fit nicely around the buns instead of diapering.
Definitely doable but not beginner friendly unfortunately.

I have done a similar method, but I lined it up with the front pockets. Where it connects to the waistband near the zipper.
And since I usually wear a belt, you'll never see the stitches.

I love boot cut jeans 👖 I'd leave that alone!! I have a size 3XL sweatpants that are sold out in every size, I'd only need an L. Would I use this same method. I don't mind them a little baggy, I just need a good 32-34 waist. These are prob a 40+

Is it possible to just remove the button from above the fly and just move it further to your right "oriented as you're wearing them". Either add a new button or carefully remove and replace the existing. This may not be possible if talking out too much waist width, as it would cause the zipper to sit awkwardly. But is this a solution for just an inch or so? Thank you!

Could I suggest you have your needle in the centre position rather than to the left? It’s easier to sew accurately.

How do you figure? Men come in all shapes and sizes just like women do.
Stylish D - Tailoring For Guys I can see how that is unfair of me. I suppose I just assumed since purchasing men’s clothing is more straightforward that the fit would be closer to the same. Women’s clothing is a pain in the butt with ‘vanity sizing’ being all over the map. I have clothing I’m my closet that is size small, size medium, large and extra large and they all fit me.

Hi i need some help i made some jorts size 40 into around size 34 and now i have this bunch of extra material in the back of the jorts and its all warped idk what to do to fix it
Yeah unfortunately that’s too drastic of a downside. When you size down that much it ends up throwing off the proportions of the jeans. Not much you can do really besides use it as a learning experience
Annoying for some reason - too much talking, and the darts kind of made points that did not lay nice and flat. Not the best tutorial on how to take in waist of jeans. But, nice effort especially if this was a first tutorial.

Could you leave the newly stitched parts in, instead of cutting them out? you know, in case your padonkadonk starts increasing its ability to padonk over time and your pants need some letting out?
Yup you could leave them on but it might be a bit uncomfortable
