- Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has called for firm action, after two officers were killed in a police station attack in the outskirts of Johor Bahru in a place called Ulu Tiram. The assailant - with suspected links to militant group Jemaah Islamiyah - was shot dead at the scene. The suburb is no stranger to Jemaah Islamiyah. The founders of the group - Abdullah Sungkar and Abu Bakar Baasyir - moved there in 1993 after fleeing Indonesia. The two men were on the run to avoid imprisonment for espousing radical views. CNA spoke to Munira Mustaffa, Executive Director at security consultancy Chasseur Group.

This is an isolated incident, Singaporeans should not worry about their safety when visiting Johor. Just avoid going to remote areas in the middle of the night or early in the morning.
Maybe this is karma because the Malaysian government used to protect JI leaders when they were being hunted by the Indonesian government

It's not due to mental health. It's due to misinterpretation of context in their religion which in turn was caused by volatile foundation of their religion.
