I picked up a 98 vert a month ago and it needs new front shocks. Looks like a pain, much easier to do on my 92.

I am getting ready to put ZO6 shocks on my 2001 C5. What are the lbs of torque on the upper and low bolts.

19 lb FT for the top nut and 21 lb Ft for the lower bolts. Thank you for your service. I was AF also.

Would this work on a c6 Corvette? (Mine is a base c6 corvette, I'm just gonna change my driver's side front shock)

There are special Sockets for the clutch head on the top of the shock shaft. ask your tool guys about them.

Better then using a crescent wrench use a 1/4 open end wrench or perhaps a 6mm open end wrench. My crescent wrench got stuck on the shock and was a bitch to get off. And don't forget to use the new rubber bushings from the new ZO6 shocks as they are longer and need to be used to get the nut to tighten properly on the top of the front shocks.

Never put vise grips on the cylinder !!!! You will damage the shock ...

Would have been easier if you would have dropped the upper control arm and her the shock drop down out of the way. 🤷🏼‍♂️
