Man! This tune, Emo, and Lemmings (and Apple Shampoo) always bring me back to that summer of 1997 and most of the 97/98 school year (my junior year of HS). Then I remember how much of an impact Dude Ranch had on my music tastes for years to come. Great album front to back…the second half being a complete surprise on how well the songs have stood up for 25+ years now. This era of Blink will always be my favorite! Excellent cover as always! Love your channel for the trips down the memory lane of the trials of my awkward (but so much fun) teenage experience!
Thanks, Sean. Dude Ranch will forever stand the test of time. Sure, there is some sillines but for the most part it was solid song writing and killer guitar work by DeLonge, his best work IMO. Some will argue but for me, this is their best album in terms of lyrics, song structure, guitar riffs and of course nostalgia. Cheers 🥃
@@90sPunkRockCovers absolutely! I always thought I was biased, since this was the first CD of theirs that I could get a hold of. At the beginning of the summer of ‘97, LTJ’s Losing Streak was the album. As soon as I picked up Dude Ranch just a couple days after July 4th that summer, it was all I listened to from then until about the spring of 98. Then I got pretty deep into hip-hop of the time. Then Blink, the S/T Fenix TX CD, and Home Grown’s Act Your Age were my go to for pop punk during that moment in time.
I remember it was my first day of middle school, i was listening to this album and this was the final track, i still remember that strange feeling of going into the unknown and new beginnings ... at the end middle school was bad, very very bad.. but hey i survived ... amzing cover, saludos desde México!
I Can't stress this enough, the quality of the sound and the quality of the guitar player makes this channel one of the best of youtube! Cheers buddy! If i may request a song.... could you please perform "Stitches from Much the Same"... Cheers from Brazil.
Killer video!!! I always love your Blink covers, I always sit here and try to play along with your video rather than the actual one and it helps me learn so much faster!
Man this song and entire CD takes me right back to 1997 in 11th grade, hanging out with my mates at the beach car park (Australia) with this, pennywise, nofx, Lagwagon, strung out and so on, blasting out of our shitty cars. I hd no idea at the time, but those were the best times. Just memories now but listing to this took me right back. I watched blink in a tiny club in Sydney in 1998 with scott on drums!
My dude! Everything about your videos is top tier. Audio quality, video quality, the songs, and man...THE GEAR. Just picked up a Daphne DeLonge strat, but not loving the Invader. What pickup you like most in a strat?
Thanks, brother! Yeah I’m not a big fan of it either but I had one laying around and decided to just embrace it on this guitar lol. I have yet find the perfect humbucker for a start to be honest. I have a Lollar imperial on my yellow strat and I’m kinda meh about it. I tried a JB and sorta liked it but didn’t love it. I guess the closest was a SD Pearly Gates+ I had on an old Strat I owned many years ago. I’m still searching for a good Strat humbucker.
Awesome, thanks! I'm gonna try out some different pickups, the Invader hits the front of my Rockerverb MKIII so hard it's ridiculous. If I find something interesting and good I'll give ya shout. Cheers!
amazing production on this cover and the sound is perfect. The main riff seems 0,1% off and that's just a testimony of how much feel Tom had writing this. So incredibly hard to get exactly right.
This album made me finally get a guitar when i was 19 after wamting one cuz of kid cudi. I loved the sound of lightning and thunder that this album emits and went well with skating
Killed it as always, man! The best Blink album imo. If you haven’t already, you should check out No Pressure. I feel like you’d have a blast playing some of their songs.
Great cover brother! One of my favorites from Dude Ranch for sure. And the tone was pretty spot on like always. I've been trying to get something similar with my gear. What settings were you using on the Recto? And did you just roll the volume off for the cleaner intro and outro?
Thanks man, I thought I got pretty close to the recorded tone. I dimmed the bass, cranked the mids and treble a bit more than usual, kept the gain kind of low since since the invader is a hot and bassy pickup. Yeah the intro was volume rolled off to 5.
Hello. Great video. Do you know what wireless guitar system is used by blink 182 ? thats one question I´ve been wondering latetly . Greetings from Mexico.
Probably the most underrated album for guitar work in this genre. Dude Ranch was master class.
My favorite blink album, no cap 🧢
This made me get a guitar like literally I wanted to play these songs so I can control thunder and skate

Thanks man. I try to get them as close as possible.
Man this sounds incredible 🙌. Doesn't get much better than that Mesa for earlier Blink tones.
Thanks my friend. I think I got pretty close with the tone ok this one. Cheers 🥃

Thanks! Hmm, not really sure about that man. Proly some kind of Shure wireless system I guess.
Dude, this sound pretty much like ranch
Thanks, man! I tried to get as close as I could
Hey man! Do you have a choice of studio monitors? Any idea which ones are neutral and can hold up with acoustic drums?
I don’t own studio monitors, I typically use studio mixing headphones for all of my recordings.
