He was perfect. Right up to the edge of the jumps. Took off from the perfect distance every time. He answered every question perfectly. So proud of both of you. Love seeing the world from between copper ears.

i dont rlly understand your comment, since im not nativly english speaking. But the ppl who count down say "have a good ride" and you would always reply with "thank you". Why would she say "thanks you too", this guy wont ride the course.
That was thrilling. I felt like I was flying on him over huge ditches and other obstacles. He never hesitated and his beautiful ears were pricked up the whole time. Good to watch first thing in the morning. I would hate to see what 4 Star is going to be like. Fear

The way he saved himself at the second water jump and it didn't bog him up for the next one was amazing. He did sooo well!!
Love it ! Am I the only person who counts down the strides to a fence like : 5,4,3,2,1 ? I dunno it’s just for practice as I’m bad a figuring out strides so I do it on your video and it has helped a little !
Yes! And I SIT in my chair then rise as though going to two point! I'm learning so much!

I love watching you, and all of your horses. Sharpie is so much fun to watch. He reminds me of a kid on a treasure hunt.... jump, and run like heck to find the next one. Couldn't believe what he jumped, right out of stride. He's a star now. He's going to be a much bigger one next year. I can't wait!

I have a question, where do you know where to go during these courses? And how do you train your horse to be prepared to use this much energy?
Well for the first question, every fence has different colored numbers that go in order for different levels of riding. Then before she goes out in Sharpie or any horse, you normally walk the course at least three times on foot or on a golf cart! Hope that helped! And for the second there is a process called conditioning where you work up a horses level of fitness every ride, just like a person who wants to get better at running! You do it very gradually. Hope this helped!

Yes I have. Actually the footing was fantastic. It wasn’t sticky at all, the key is to not over stud them. They all recovered great and part of that is due to the good ground.

Question from a non-eventer: when the official asks to see both sides of your horse, what is she looking for?
Likely spur marks
It could be a number of things: whip bruises, spur marks, blood in the mouth, etc. just anything that says that the horse was not comfortable during his ride! Hope this helped.
