    2:30 you mean subfamily not family, because all bears belong to the family ursidae.
    The term 'family' is a word that is used as an every day word when talking about taxonomy, even when it's not used in the right context.
    You can tell what's a family because it always ends with -idae (if it's an animal) or aceae (if it's a plant or fungus)

    I'm from Colombia. In Bogotá there are many of these beautiful bear.
    Yeah this bear can be tiny or inoffensive compared with Kodiak, Grissly or Polar. But I remember you:
    What kind of bear is best?

    • @TheWeirdestOfBugs
      @TheWeirdestOfBugs 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @M E They tend to actually avoid cities, living more in the hills and forests of the Bogotá savanna (a plateau, actually), as well as in deeper forests in the Andes.

    Ooh, Yay! Thank you so much, it is such a rare treat to have the opportunity to enjoy such beautiful photography and pertinent factual information regarding one of my favorite and least observed creatures of the animal world, The Spectacled Bear.
    If l may, l have a request to make (or a suggestion) for an animal that maybe you could feature a future episode on, another least studied and observed animal much like the Spectacled Bear in that respect, and this animal is called the Russian Desmon.
    I have adored this wonderful little critter with it's tiny snorkely nose since l was a tiny tot and have read and watched just about all of the information and commentary that l could find, although there is not much.
    Thank you for taking the time to read my comment and also in advance if you decide to make use of my suggestion.

    These animals live in a narrow band of territory that goes from Venezuela to Bolivia and a bit of northern Argentina. Saying it lives in the Andes mountains range in general is slightly misleading. Chilean here. My country does share with Argentina the largest section of that mountain range, and no bears here. They are on the other side.
