23:15 - 26:45 You can follow the Shogun on the minimap. He did a little bit of raiding, fought a few units, then went home, went for one more round and finally got himself killed. RIP :D
2:02 For other civs maybe but not for Japan who can't hunt. Food crates have more value for them then other civs who can hunt because the gather rate is not miles better. Japan also doesn't get 700 wood either way so it's a moot point. 1000 food (before nanban) is worth 1492 Japanese villager seconds. For other civs (assuming no techs which do scale better for them as well because the base rate is higher) 1000 food is worth 1190 villager seconds. Huge difference. 600 wood is worth 1200 villager seconds for what it's worth but doesn't scale as well with nanban. Still having 1,000 food in there is sound IMO and it preserves cherry orchards too. For Europeans trying to conserve hunts so they don't have to go on mills as fast if the game goes that way, 7 sheep+1 livestock wagon and 7 cows if available, are super underrated IMO.
Nice! I was playing around with that consulate sequence earlier but I am not actually, you know, good like Piro so it was fun but still not strong. Doing it in a FF with the Toshogu Shrine is the move!
I believe they changed the consulate silk road; back in legacy i believe it only affected tps and not the crates (though i could be wrong) when i went into DE and saw the power of silk road i knew japan could do it but i never managed to pull it off. However imagine mountain warrior into spanish consulate. My god the greed 😂😂😂 Also i never use it as i prefrr the better santuaries.
lol 10 minutes into the game and he has 8 ashis haha this BO is so bad. At this point, playing as Japan vs Otto, I would have 20 Jani, 20 Abus and 2 falcs in my base. I'm rank 1000, are these top 20 players really bad or am I playing against bots?
Japan need their own factory (or two), with field guns, heavy cannons and western style rifle and skirmisher infantry reforms, maybe in hidden behind Meiji restoration, with infantry focus, agriculture and navy upgrades, as revolt cards? Just for the salts same with china & india
or they should make meiji japan as another civ, it sounds bette than adding some weird s niche country that i have never heard of nor has any significance in that period of time
Weird I hate seeing Japan when I play but love it when you show us pro play. Also you’re right about the Janissaries, basically all Balkan slave boys that got taken by the Ottomans coz they would be more loyal than training local Turks
I would agree that Ottomans are a good starter civ, but there are two things that I think would be confusing for a new player: 1. The fact that you need a Mosque to keep producing villagers past 25, who spawn for free. That significantly changes recource macro and the way you manage your Settlers from basically all other civs. 2. Their unique infantry. The Azap is not a Crossbow replacement, despite a bow attack and ranged resist, and the Abus Gun, Ottoman's skirmisher, is not in the Barracks, but the Artillery Foundry. I say the French are much more straightforward
French are better civ all around but the Ottos have certain strategies that allow them to cheese wins easily... Most people cannot handle Spahi with nizams and 5 bombards ...add revolutionaries and Mamalukes in the mix and you ain't winning easily...
Otto just need early wood and a bit of gold to get the upgrade. The fact that you dont need food to produce vils, that it happens automatically and that you still produce them while aging up is insane. Silk road into double tp for stage coach and setting them into wood will got you covered
@@youtubeadsarecancer785 the first upgrade only costs 100gold. The first two production speed upgrades costs 225wood total. Compared to fast age up times and not having to waste vil seconds gathering food and preserving hunts this is nothing
man i just play against a japan guy on mongolia and is just gg the mans got 225 wood just at the start on the game and the man stack like 700 res on age 1
lol Japan is D tier for the last 5-10 years. Slowest early eco in the game, coupled with bad value units because so expensive, nerfed expensive shrines that are just good to give free xp to opponents, explorers that need to run for their lives when they encounter opponents' explorers (hence the pouf ability), no factories which means weak late game eco, 2 shipments wasted on cherry orchards, weakest shipments in the game (e.g., 2 vills instead of 3, 5 archers instead of 7-8, 2 flaming arrows instead of 2 canons etc.), complete inability to defend against rushes or to rush and so on. It was OP 20 years ago indeed.
Japan pulled off silk road against Ottomans
Otto: How dare you use my own spell against me!
@@Shiina_LORD-Scarlet.sLifeGuard You dare use my shipment against me Potter-kun?
If we see japan in the thumbnail we know the game will be sick

hahaha thanks for this comment, was fun to see him go on his journey :D
😂
I dont understand why people complain about japan.
Mercantilism for 400ish export + shipments arrive faster is super strong.

7 sheep and 1 livestock pen is used by brits at the very least
Keep the Japanese content coming 😮💨
Japan could have gone for the cheap flaming arrows card if the industrial was coming anyway. Could have been worth it in the long term.

Cheeky 2am upload 😂
It's so nice to see Japan win, especially vs botto. Best micro and strategy won, gg.
The second he started sneaking into the base he started winning. Abus carried all the way
I feel like Otto had the game at multiple points, but never pressed his advantage (and also never raided into the back)

Just for the salts
same with china & india
China has access to a factory and a fort actually
India has +4vils from ottomans
Edit
Maybe a USA Consulate? Would think it would fit, with China getting Italians and the Indians getting Sweden.
or they should make meiji japan as another civ, it sounds bette than adding some weird s niche country that i have never heard of nor has any significance in that period of time
Meiji restoration should be a revolt feature instead of a worse imperial age up, but that would be tricky to balance
I wish your next cheese sandwich is extra crispy
He just don't need exalted ashigaru to win this game
Japan overextended constantly, took engagements without numbers

I agree, I have always said French are the 'best' for new starters, but otto are the 'easiest'
French are better civ all around but the Ottos have certain strategies that allow them to cheese wins easily... Most people cannot handle Spahi with nizams and 5 bombards ...add revolutionaries and Mamalukes in the mix and you ain't winning easily...
otto is easy becasue noobs always forgot to produce vils, they have like 15 vils in a 30 mins long game

Piroshiki japan always a show always, a pleasure to watch! GG, nice casting!
This gave me ptsd
Beautiful match
Medusa gets me Stone hard.
Any match that Otto lose is a good match kek
i want more aztec content!
i still like age 2 and 3 more then age 4
