I picked up one of these back in like 2002 at the hardware store I was working at. It didn't run and I just left it sitting at my parents house until today. Lol. Brought it home and I'm hoping to get it running. But my little brother has repurposed most of the parts, so this should be fun. Lol

Bought a 79 for 800(750 for the bike and offered the guy 50 for delivery as he was like 45 miles away) and it's a badass little bike.

This'll be a nice bike, for sure! Not all that different to the 40T I really want.

    Hey guys!
I bought a repaired one of these beauts a couple months back, and it was running pretty similar to what this bike sounds like. I loved it man, spent so any afternoons zooming in Riverside, Ca.
It started (what I think was) backing firing, and then one day the flywheel froze... any tips?
The Flywheel is a Novi G11.

you think you had to do a lot of work? hah! my 1958 wards riverside motobecane deluxe moped was a lot of work! (and still is, actually, I aint finished yet.) everything was rusted through, the motor was fused into a solid lump of metal, the rims were ruined, the gas tank had holes, etc. etc. etc. anyway, nice job, looks good.

Close to 5 years later, I got to ride this moby in Pittsburgh when I visited Will for his club's rally - it is still kicking!

glad to see you finally got that pipe from 1977. how long did it take?

Will and I actually had the pipe for a while but took some time to experiment with it. I ordered it April 21st and received it May 18th. I love 1977 Mopeds and what they do for the community, the shipping time was just something I had to plan for since they were the only place that had this pipe. I didn't want to buy a performance pipe because of how expensive they are and this is really a stock build, and a regular old used AV7 blunderbuss style pipe wouldn't fit in the nearly ruined cylinder, haha.

    hey there,
nice job, im working on a friends 78 motobecane and need a new coil. where did u get yours?

+Jesse Lyon Treatland. Everything treatland for parts. They have stock motobecane ones for $20 if you're digging the cream color, but a cheaper one will likely probably be fine, just make sure it works for ignition points:

I notice you just said coil, I posted links for external ignition coils below but Treatland will have the internal coils too.

Jesse Lyon Sure, I'll help where I can. There is a newer video on this channel titled "Motobecane mopeds are beautiful but frustrating", it has some moby specific things to look out for in it
