Standard vegetable farming here would destroy the habitat for native plants and animals alike. The biggest threat to species is loss of habitat. A well run cattle ranch can preserve species' habitat. Thats why you see that most of these large, pristine land holdings are cattle ranches. BTW I am an environmentalist. Preserve and repair land for the benefit of all species, including humans! Support family farms and ranches, and permaculture practices, over corporate farms and ranches! Live well.

There is very little water in this area and it's amazing when it's green but turns brown fast with rattlesnakes.
