One guy in the group I'm auditioning for who's a trumpet player said "the only hard part about contra is standing at attention. Once you get it on your shoulder you forget about it" which has NOT been my experience. Feeling validated. :)
Always fun to see other schools use a contra, I'm from a small school and I was the only one on contra so its just cool to see other people play it especially when almost every other high school has sousaphones.

Hi, im a sousaphone whos planning on doing DCI this year and i was wondering if the switch is "easier" with previous experience.
Having played sousaphone only made it so i dont cry ☠️ the switch is still going to be miserable at least in my experience.

Prepare for the bruising. 4 day bruise after one day of audition camp and they went sooooo easy on me
