Why say it has “potential”? This house is gorgeous as is-I hate it when people buy a beautiful old home and “modernize” it-they end up ruining something that can’t be replaced.
Both look fine. A home shouldn’t have to be all granite countertops and new everything. There is so much waste in the world-people buy a nice older home and go into debt over their heads to replace everything that isn’t pristine and trendy. Then they turn it into something without character but which showcases how much money they can(‘t)afford to spend on useless renovations. Sometimes all the offending fixtures get salvaged but often it goes into a landfill. Even perfectly lovely new and trendy homes are being bulldozed for newer and trendier homes. I get annoyed watching “house shopping” shows on HGTV where people come in and wrinkle their noses at perfectly nice homes-“well THAT would have to go and THAT is a complete tear down!” Someone will probably come in and ruin this place.
@@Noname-v2w5w I tend to agree that sometimes a renovation is not needed. Not in this case. There isn't any charm or character in those spaces in this home. The kitchen looks awful. And the placement of the cooktop makes no sense whatsoever. Bathrooms are horrible. Except for the claw foot tub. But that custom made cheap side table with the double glass bowl sinks is a terrible look. The glass bowl sink look was ugly when it debuted 30 years ago. You don't have to spend thousands of dollars to make something look nice.
@@DCGuy1997 I agree the glass bowl sinks are ugly…the rest seems fine to me-it may not have the same character as the rest of the house but it’s just my opinion that people are too often dissatisfied with what isn’t brand sparkling new. I think the kitchen looks homey though I agree about the cooktop as well. People seem so obsessed with homes being new and perfect. That kitchen reminds me of kitchens when I was growing up. Nothing wrong with that and I personally would leave it alone.
I love this house. I don’t know how much it would cost to buy it but it would be worth every penny. You cannot buy the craftsmanship that is built into that home today.
According to Zillow it's $60,000. Amazing that the interior is almost completely intact. Would no doubt need new plumbing and electric, but you can't get woodwork like that anymore. The lot is tiny, but I guess not everyone wants a large yard. Other than the porch railings, the outside looks unmuddled, just needs a lot of old paint removal - but no vinyl siding!

the interior is absolutely stunning--what about being on the registry of historic homes for preservation?
There is a process to have some of the work done, but it’s actually very very lenient
