Project Apis m. Transporting Bee to California Almond Pollination, 2021

in 2021, it is estimated that 2.5 Million honey bee colonies are required for almond pollination. From mid-January to early February, commercial and "sideliner" beekeepers across the US undertake a massive effort to move honey bees from over 40 states into almond orchards in California. This mini-documentary follows over 800 colonies from indoor honey bee storage sheds in Idaho to the almond orchards in California's Central Valley.
