I am currently reading David McKittrick's and David McVea's book "Making Sense of the Troubles: A History of the Northern Ireland Conflict". He isn't supporting Thatcher to my knowledge, but it isn't fair on Hitler's count to compare that thing to him. When the Battle of Britain began, it had come to the Freedom fighters conclusion that this man may bring an end to Britannia and their tyranny. This did not work as the Dumbfuck painter decided to invade the east with Operation Barbarossa.
So there is the story of Adolf Hitler and the views the IRA had on him. If he'd set a landing on Ireland he would've likely been welcomed with open arms from the Republicans.

The Northern Ireland Peace Process would never have been possible while Thatcher was in power because she was openly and shamelessly on the side of the unionists and unwilling to make any sort of concessions towards the republicans.
