Then IFR where one relies strictly on the instruments for navigation and aircraft control until the last few seconds when one relies almost on only the eyes out the window to land.

VFR = Visual Flight Rules
IFR = Instrument Flight Rules

Don't understand why you use feet for vertical and meters for horizontal distances. What a lousy way to show distances. Stick with one unit!
