My friend and I did a rewatch of Pirates for our podcast. The fourth movie is even worse than the fifth, but Johnny Depp was clearly not doing his best work at that point in his life.
I'm so confused with this whole Pirates thing. Last year Disney accepted a script by Craig Mazin & Ted Elliot (the guy who worked on all previous Pirates movies, but especially the first trilogy-) and that it was "really weird" but that Disney felt it was really good. Now flashforward a year and they hired Jeff Nathanson again, who completely ruined Ted's original idea for the fifth movie? I'm so lost why Disney keeps self sabotaging their own franchise. The formula is easy: make the Mazin / Elliot movie and hire Gore Verbinski back, he was an essential ingredient to the success of those original movies, as much as Johnny Depp was.

Let’s agree to disagree… I find Discovery unwatchable now days. I had big hopes, but no.
@tomasarfert I genuinely believe Discovery was made to recruit black women into STEM because they realized gatekeeping that industry backfired as the population numbers are reflecting that ALL the advanced First World countries in the West and East Asia are declining in birthrates. Why have DEI forced in the last 5 years and not slowly peppered throughout the 90's till late 2010s when the representation was actually good. After 2006, thats where you started seeing segregation of spaces. I believe it is Tech execs fault bcoz of their low EQ and they're course correcting but it's too late.
@@tomasarfert Ok...
@@tomasarfert I like this season.
