Nobody would remember the second place, unless it's Lee Chong Wei.
    2008 Olympics - Silver Medal
2011 World Championship - Silver Medal
    2012 Olympics - Silver Medal
2013 World Championship - Silver Medal
2014 World Championship - Silver Medal
2015 World Championship - Silver Medal
    2016 Olympics - Silver Medal
With so many unfortunate events happened in Lee Chong Wei's career, he never give up but kept on playing in pursuit of his dream. Only had to put his racket down due to health conditions. Truly a Malaysian hero.
What would you tell him if you meet him in reality?

    • @ryan5752
      @ryan5752 หลายเดือนก่อน +14

That I dont think im alone in saying this but that we Malaysians are all so proud of him no matter what. He should not ever feel that hes let us down cos thats the exact opposite of what he did.

I won’t tell him anything. He’s achieved what he’s achieved, which is superb in and of themselves.
But he’s not unlucky. Kento Momota is unlucky.

The biggest mistake that he ever made which if he looked back in his whole career and he will regret it is he showed his cards too early for the Chinese to read and analyze his game. His coaches, management team and himself should have worked together to keep himself under the radar and only show his true colours during the big tournaments. If you look at all his Olympic and World championship runs, he kept playing in many tournaments to his full strength, winning and in the end he gave his form away and sometimes giving himself some injuries that affected his big tournament performance.
He could have won the 2011 world champ, 2012 Olympic, and more world titles until 2016 Olympics. He revealed his form and game too early and so the Chinese team overall could plot to beat him in his game. Remember, Lee Chong Wei is not really facing Lin Dan, but an entire Chinese team consist of Chen Jin, Chen Long, Tian Houwei whom are working together to ultimately make sure Lee Chong Wei does not win.
Badminton is not only about brute strength and stamina, it's also a psychological warfare. Lee Chong Wei lost to China (not Lin Dan) because of this.

Sy tidak berasal dari negara yang sama, namun Chong wei adalah salah satu pemain yang saya kagumi.
Meski tidak pernah menadapatkan major tittle; Worldchamp even olimpic.
That's why, no matter what, he is a living lagend.

LCW story is sad, but this makes Kento Momota's story even more heartbreaking

He deserves the title as Dato even though he did not win gold , because for Malaysia he never gave up . Let's hope he can train a Gold medalist for Malaysia in the near future.
Like Jimmy White in Snooker , he never wins the world championship before but in people's heart he is the people's champion.

Well, it means Axelsen deserves hall of fame more than LCW cuz he has 2 gold olympic. Moreover Axelsen lives in denmark that has 6X population less than malaysia

You held the world no 1 longer than any other badminton player. You are more than being deserved to be an Olympic champion although luck was not on your side in the gold medal play out. When the game badminton is mentioned, your name will always be mentioned and remembered !

❤ Its really sad that all the Malaysian coaches and managers have no idea about sports psychology.
It is a well known statistical observation that for sporting events where the players face each other at close quarters, the player who is attired completely in RED has slight advantage in winning.
When an animal turns red, it signify anger, superior strength, dominance and is in a state to fight and kill and this tends to intimidate the opponent who will turn pale white (see white flag of surrender), feel nauseated, vomit and run for his life.
Even Steven Hawkins had mentioned that RED is the key to success for close contact sports.
Since wearing Red only gives a slight advantange, it will not make any difference in the preliminary rounds where the best players are pitched against the worst. But in the finals where the difference between the players is razor thin, a slight advantage can make it a win or loss.

If you google on the use of RED attire is sports you will see hundreds of research papers supportive of the notion that RED is indeed the colour of attire to use in close contact sports.😂😂

Thanks for this cool insight, just realised that Lin Dan was wearing red in the 2011 world champ, 2012 Olympics and 2013 world champ against Lee Chong Wei! 😮

the one and only and fking only, 2nd placed, Runner Up, Silver medalist that i remember in my life, i growing up with his Smash, with his Diving, with his fking Humble, he is the best Athlete ive seen so far, no one can beat him in MY HEART even he is not winning world and olympic, he Win MY LIFE, why i say like that? bcoz i dont even know who is world number one right now, who is top in badminton now, i dont even fking care, and dont want to know, "I JUST KEEP SEARCHING ' LEE CHONG BEST MOMENT, LEE CHONG BEST GAME, LEE CHONG WEI ATTACK, LEE CHONG WEI ONLY,"
he vs lindan, not just a badminton game, its a Entertaiment + bonus (Heart Excercise)
#truefact, he cant beat LD bcoz theres no Good Left Handed player in Malaysia camp at that time he can 'sparring' ! LD have so many World Right Handed Players in China at that time😅😂
