Picoscope Compression Test - Livestream test

- This is a test broadcast where we'll be demonstrating how to perform a cranking compression test using the Picoscope. We'll demonstrate how to directly measure one cylinder via 1 channel and then use a current probe to gather relative compression values. We'll also demonstrate how the save a reference waveform from each cylinder so that you'll end up with all 4 cylinders overlaid on one screen.

Thanks, this vehicle was somewhat of a difficult diagnosis. This vehicle had been setting intermittent P0300 for the past couple of years according to our service records. Recently the client failed a smog check for a P0302. Compression was a little lower on #2 as you can see. A leak down test wasn’t conclusive as it was in the green but a little higher when compared to cylinder 4. The tailpipe pressure test revealed the leak.
Sometimes ill just use battery voltage waveform and invert it to mimic current if i cant get my probe around the battery cables
