impressive how detailed is your diagnostic way...but, @16:15 how it work, that misfire on 3rd cyl affect to spark time from 1st cyl ? Why You not backprobe coil on 3rd cylinder, as you suspect that 3rd cyl misfire ?
Thanks for the comment. I checked the time stamp you provided. I was on #3 cylinder ignition. Now at the beginning of the video I was on #1 until I properly identified the problem was on #3.
Awesome video! Once cylinder 3 was verified as the misfire, any reason you didn't do any engine mechanical/relative compression check? Perhaps it was just an easier next step to put the ignition probe on top of a coil?
Great case study! Do you locate your problem cylinder the same way with a 6 or 8 cylinder. I've read you look at the 360 mark, then one to the left to find your exhaust stroke. It gets confusing to me with the 6 or 8 cylinder.
Great question. Rule of thumb is on a 6 cylinder go two to the left of 360 for exhaust.... on a 8 cylinder go 3 to the left. that should be your sync cylinder's exhaust stroke. Its always good to experiment on known good..and create misfire's and test the theory with your equipment before a problem child hits your bay.
good video thanks. when encounter engine misfire that obd 2 mode 6 will show which cylinder more false count than other .do you think pulse sensor is best way find what cylinder misfire? do you have coupon code for autonerdz? think about pico scope to buy, but kind expensive special work for dealer they do'nt pay check out time specially for warranty repair.
The pulse sensor is best for me, simple to set up and not very intrusive, it just takes time and practice to understand the wave. My Autonerdz link takes you to the website, the picoscope kits are already discounted, vs buying everything individually and I think free shipping for USA. But feel free to call them or email them, its very possible a deal can be made.
That's great. Autonerdz has alot to offer than just the scope. Lots of support including the forum, monthly zoom style training, access to the cloud for cool custom probes and apps and more. The membership is included with a Pico kit and never needs renewal.
CONGRATULATIONS! Iuse the latest P6 and a early access version of P7. Both can be used on the same computer. Both can be found under the training and support tab. Just click on the autonerdz link in my videos. Also ask the management to order your stuff threw my link. It helps me keep things going. THANKS.

Excellent demonstration. There goes the money they saved buying aftermarket parts for critical components, not to mention the hassle.
Exactly 💯

@@CartersDiagnostics So sorry, my bad

I did a relative compression test, just didn't film it. It was fine so I proceeded with the ignition testing.
Well done!

Cool channel you got going!
Appreciate that. Welcome aboard!
Thats awesome. How do u like the autonerdz support? Very nice clean ignition waveform on pico scope.
The support is great, I've been dealing with Autonerdz for over 10 years. I would not promote them if they were just average.
@@CartersDiagnostics ok thank u very much. Planning to buy the pico scope. 👍

@@CartersDiagnostics awesome. Thanks for the information
Awesome
The top spring on the left looks like it's a different diameter
